I would generally never edit in the first draft. The most important aspect of that stage of writing, in my opinion, is getting your thoughts down and then tidying it up later. So, you mentioned the many types of editing. The easiest way for me to edit, as I have previously mentioned, is waiting an interval of time and rereading my work, but that primarily helps weed out grammatical errors or spelling errors. As for the editing of sentences and phrases in order to flow better, that comes with practice. The more you write, the more you will develop your own writing style. Sometimes your writing style will adapt based on the type of writing you're doing as well. Having another pair of eyes or even a few different people reading your work also helps. Another aspect of writing that I consider editing, I'll call continuity editing. This is when you actually get a sizable portion of your story written down. Ensure you know your initial vision(Have an outline formed for how you want the story to progress), and ensure the story follows the desired continuity, identifying any areas that veer away from that or contradict your storyline. This also works on the small scale with what you discussed in this video. If you know your intent and purpose for a line, section, or character, ensure each line of dialogue, each description, and each new revelation or new piece of information is to that end. In other words, try to weed out filler. Hopefully this all made sense.

[ND] Editing in the first draft is still a habit I'm trying to break, but we'll talk more on that in next week's video. We are definitely grateful to have each other as that second pair of eyes to improve our editing process. One thing we hope to accomplish with our intense brainstorming before we start writing is to avoid much of the need for large-scale continuity editing later. Doubtless we will still need some, especially on the smaller scale, such as the purposes of lines, descriptions, revelations, etc. as you mentioned. Thank you for your input, and I think it all made sense!
