- Day 1 of the Planet Zoo World Championship is here! Animals from across six continents begin this challenge to be crowned World Champion. Today is track day, testing animal's speed at the Gulpee Arena.

About me: I'm Plastic Swans and I do a lot of wacky stuff with Planet Zoo, like racing the animals and time trials. I like to call this kind of thing wholesome chaos and that's what I try to do most of all on the channel. I also make one-off habitats and zoo's, although I tend to forget to finish any of the zoo's I start. I also made the Simple Habitat Series for Planet Zoo, a suite of easy habitats for every animal in the game.

Thanks! It legit took me a couple months to build everything, populate the stands, record and edit the events. I'm happy with the result though so time well spent!
This video and your channel deserves a lot more attention, I only found this video because I was searching for who in the world managed to get a 40m tall Timber Wolf! Awesome work, must have been a tonne of effort but it really does show in the final product!

The ostrich was clearly the only one who did well for Oceana. Good video. Must have taken you 80 hours spread over several days/weeks to make this.
Not sure exactly how many hours, but 3 months to make start to finish!
Ostriches live in Africa. The Emu lives in Oceania.

Thanks! The arena itself was pretty easy, just a bunch of glass panels and some art shapes. The pathing was a bit of a pain, but moving 4000 guests into position was a nightmare! Glad you enjoyed it!

That arena itself is so impressive! But how you set up the events, and kept them in their lanes? Your mastery of this game is so entertaining!
Thank you! It's a lot of fiddling - I set up enclosures with null barrier, but the animals don't always path right particularly around curves. There was a lot of takes to get it right!
Love it Swans! Kept noticing little details like all the advertising boards and TV screens. Always fun to see what your brain is gonna come up will next :)

Thank you! I'd love to try. The original was a nightmare because my computer couldn't handle that many animals in one go, but I've upgraded it since, so it might deal with it a little better now

Why didn’t you add the cheetah is because it would carry the Africa team like the ostrich did?
I tried where possible to keep things balanced and picked animals that could multi-task. Cheetah would obvs perform very well for running races, but they can't jump too well or swim. Ostrich was the obvious choice as they can both run fast and jump over hurdles, plus they will play with ball enrichment items which was key for some of the games
Excuse me plastic swans, but how do you get your animals to the stadium?
I set up a load of habitats to keep them separated out of view, then built an underground tunnel that transports them into the arena! Inside arena, the path connections were hidden under the flooring
