Ok so Matt's channel is by far one of my favorites and Matt is basically just a big kid cleverly disguised as a genius engineer sharing his flipping awesome projects with us on RUclips...They have a word for men like these...We call them Legends!
@@MattDenton I'm not everyone but at least I'm someone. Someone that agrees with this comment completely. I only just found your channel today but just in the past few hours I've been binging your channel. I'm very impressed with the talent that goes into these projects, and the effort you put into not only said projects but your videos as well, and the humor you squeeze in is the cherry on top! I can't wait to see future content from you! I also wish you weren't as underrated as you are, content like this should get plenty of views.
I can’t. I’m already on the smallest pulley on the motor, abs the largest due to brake callipers on the wheel. You’d need to go back a few videos to see why :)
Thanks for the shout out Matt, we'll get you around our track at some point! We've an event down in Somerset this weekend and Peterborough in early August, it'd be rude to wait until 2024!
Hmmm. I think this is a teaser for maybe what you have in mind for the auto chassis build. Ya the lower the kv the more torque. Thank you Matt for another great almost unimaginable video.
May I suggest that long beam that your friend printed out for you you have those remade in billet aluminumyou'll get a lot less flex and it'll still be relatively light second suggestion switch from belt pulleys to 420 or 520 series Racing chains and split sprockets. Awesome bill dude I subscribed to your channel just a minute to go have an excellent day
Its cool. I hope you get better luck with your next attempt 🙏. I have lego motorbike that can drive on grass. Im sure you like it mate. The poor kid that got hit from the plastic tire parts... 😱. He was so cool. I wonder if possible to buy regular tires, like big scooter tires, and then print your lego rims to fit to them. I think it can be realy nice, and lego similar look outcome, with low cut tires.
Matt you are the most crazy guy I've ever seen on RUclips with 3d prints haha 😉 please never stop being childish!!!! It makes your videos soooo fun 😀 thanks for being you!!! 😀
Very awesome man. Between you and Ivan Miranda, I'm now planning a bunch of 3d printed large projects. They will probably all fail. But it will be fun nonetheless. lol.
Have you thought of making a silicone casting of the tyres, Use moldmax30 for the clams, and PT Flex with black pigment fast curing rubber for the tyres. Also maybe some radiuses on the internal notches of the treads to prevent tearing.
Hi Matt, you could run 2 XT90s in parallel if running double the current, that's what I'll be doing with the MGF (when I get around to it), I'm sure you knew that anywhoo. I do like the Flipsky motors and controllers, love the fact you're ripping up the grass, haha (too fast?).
Loved seeing you and James at EMF thanks for bringing all your cool stuff and giving a talk. oh and a bonus of seeing James after he'd spent too long in Null Sector lol.
Hello, I'm DDadan, a Korean Lego youtuber. I saw the real-size Lego go-cart you made. It's really impressive and nice. May I introduce your work on my channel? Of course, I will include your channel and source in the video.
@@MattDenton I see, do you ever plan on releasing files for either the motorized go kart or the monkey bike you’ve just made? I think they’re both really cool and would love to try to make one.
I didn't make it to EMF this year because I was just kinda too busy the last month. This looked like a lot of fun though :D Maybe see you at the next one!
Anyone know what Matt means when he says he has to tune the motors? Us this simply to make sure both run at the same speed and respond at the same time?
The software does it for you within the VESC controller. It determines motor winding resistance amongst other parameters to get the brushless motors set correctly
Small comment on the XT90 connector: I stumbled over this too. The 90A rating is only the burst rating for 10s, nominally they're only rated for 45A continuous! (Search for "XT90H SPEC.pdf" for the original datasheet, can't put a link in YT comments) For my next high power project I'll probably be looking into Anderson Powerpole 75 or 120. With their respective highest capacity contacts they'll do 120 or 240A continuously, if I read their spec correctly.
Yeah it’s a bit of a problem! What’s bonkers is that many batteries and controllers use them when they are way underrated! Anderson are good, I’ve been using them for years, but bulky.
There's a test video showing and XT90 carrying 270amps for 10seconds by Dronelab. Clearly not recommended, but I think they're conservative with 90A for 10s.
You should drive this in Legoland. That would be hilarious.

Well thank you very much 🙏 appreciate the positive feedback ✌️
My childhood dream is that
First saw a short of the 2-stage gear and w came to the channel to watch the entire lego build series. Subscribed!!!
Thanks 🙏
To increase torque...why didn't you just change the gearing?
I can’t. I’m already on the smallest pulley on the motor, abs the largest due to brake callipers on the wheel. You’d need to go back a few videos to see why :)
The LEGO Technic 8845 box buggy would look great in full size.
Yeah it would 👍👍

Thanks! The auto chassis won’t take this kind of punishment 😬

Oh well, I guess this is the perfect excuse for a "Lego Go Kart Fix" video. Definitely not complaining 😁
Thanks 🙏
More go-cart! Plz....That was awesome!
Now your Go-Kart and the Curiosity Mars Rover have something in common. Broken Wheels :D.
True 😁
Next is to try to turn it into a racing lego go-kart
Hey Matt, I was wondering if there is any way to get the files avaliable for this go cart or you were planning to release them? Thanks
Not the powered one no sorry.
@@MattDenton Looks like real fun! You've inspired me to do my own build one day, emphasis on one day, looks expensive!🤣

Yeah I’ve used PT flex before but to be honest the printed TPU is pretty cool!
Brilliant, thanks👍👍
👍
I wish my 3d printer could do that
👍
Fun little thing. I'd like to make a little electric kart but probably with a metal frame.
Metal would be more sensible 👍😬
EMF was an absolute riot, hopefully we can bring our nerf dart launching robot to the next one
Yeah it was so cool! See you at the next one :)
Fascinating!!
Thanks 🙏
You need to print up some of those classic space 'balloon' tyres :)
Oh yeah 😆
That looks like one cool fucking place ! If i can go there one day, i definitely will !
Two years 👍
Awesome.
Thanks 🙏
Awesome :D
And a bit of Look Mum No Computer is always good too.
Yeah it certainly is 🤙

Can you guys give me a lift for EMP 2024? 🤣
Where do you need to go from? :)
Just curious about your STL files. Is the printable go kart the first version you made or this version?
The pentacle go kart is 5 x scale and not motorised like this one
