She will go very far on "The Voice" this year, too! Not that I'm a new fan, however, since I own CD's and cassettes of all her 90's recordings...Don't forget "Whatever You Imagine" for "The Pagemaster" soundtrack, "Forever Yours" from the "90210" soundtrack, and hits like "Come In Out Of The Rain", "Step By Step", "So Close To Love" and more!

Yes she most definitely does, she is absolutely amazing. She definitely deserves to be a super star, an icon.
She sang backup for Celine Dion and Faith Hill. When she decided to go solo both of them were cheering her on. So many well known singers and others in the industry had high hopes for her. Somebody on her manager team, her promoter and record label didn't do they job.
This is her, I love her so much before all those guys, they all came after her beautiful voice. a star we know all believe in her.. 😢🙏😔

We’ll get ready to find yourself a new show, because the voice gets it wrong 99.99% of the time. They like a younger artists. It’s still hard baking on this true gem right here. Her age, her presence. Ppl think because an artist is older, they won’t have enough shelf life. But in today’s day and age, she’s phenomenal and she can do so much more. Her vocals are even better today, than 10 yrs ago.

@@captainkill21 even if she wins, shed still be irrelevant, she's old and she already had her time. Her Come on in out of the Rain was a global hit. But winning in the Voice doesn't really mean anything anyway since it's just a show made for the coaches. Contestants are just props. Come and gone.

@@11rokerito Sorry but I find Wendy to be better than Mariah and Celine as vocalist, at least to my ears. Her voice is far more powerful, sweeter, and her range is just as broad with more control (no need for whistle notes here). In terms of being compared to Whitney, they're pretty equal in my book. Whitney just possessed a darker, more colorful, more mysterious vocal instrument. But in terms of talent, Wendy is right up there with the very best!

She did. I thought it was Whitney, but I knew something was different. She's still copying Whitney's vocals. She has her own greatness. She doesn't have to be Whitney. There is a reason Whitney dominated.
@@mykaperry2172 This is the vocal arrangement for the song created by David Foster and initially interpreted by Whitney. Wendy is following the same vocal script, which is why it is almost identical in pacing and rhythm. She's the only one I've heard to do it so perfectly like Whitney.

I've always loved Wendy. I had her album as a kid and never felt she got her due. I'm praying she can on The Voice, because she deserves it. We need real singers these days!

Shame on music industry!!! WHY I have never heard about her until I have watched the voice?? .... unbelievable...
Easy.. the industry is/was not willing to invest money in multiple artists at the same time. They'd rather focus all the marketing money on a single revenue stream instead of multiple, it's easier to control and less risk of the money maker being poached by the competition and suddenly disrupting the revenue. Wendy Moten's story is not too dissimilar from that of Phyllis Hyman, Lisa Fischer, Rachelle Ferrell, etc. All equally talented with 'out of this world' voices yet pushed aside by the record labels because they were seen as revenue threats to the already established and heavily invested Whitney and Mariah.

If you have listened to Come On in Out of the Rain and her first album the problem was the producers. Come on in Out of the Rain is a song you could easily hear Whitney perform if she was in good vocal health. They should have dug into that kind of music at this time in her career. I've heard other people try to imitate Whitney on this song, but Wendy is not doing that. He voice has its own roundness and brilliance that is uniquely hers. I'm actually mad at the person who cancelled her record deal. If she was on David Foster's radar and the beauty of her single she deserved the focus to create the album that would have launched her career. Now approximately 27 years later, she comes out of the shadows and I hope she claims what should have been hers all along. The winner. The contract. The right music and a career that leads to sold out stadiums. I will buy ANYTHING she releases. What a gift.

@@Judexxxxxjjjjj Glennis also resembles Whitney physically, and she's an excellent singer, but Wendy is on another level vocally imo. Wendy's IWALY version is the absolute best I've heard from any singer aside from Whitney. Whitney remains the best because of her tonal colorfulness, something that cannot be replicated. But if anyone can bring justice to Whitney's hallmark, it's only Wendy followed by Glennis.

So glad Mrs. Wendy; is perusing her Singing career as a solo artist ,,, This woman has an amazing voice I remember her first song from the early 90's "Come In Out of The Rain" and a Stevie Wonder song "All I Do and so so so many other songs. Wendy Moten is extremely a talented Artist and song writer. Oh and you must see some of the Artist she performed Duets with.. WOW!!!!! She had said in early interview that already had a Whitney and they didn't have room for a nother. Wow!
I remember Wendy from back in the day as a professional singer. A great talent she has; great vocalist. But as you noted, Antoine Swans, she's exactly right. Many have tried imitating Whitney's sound, but anyone with a good ear can tell the difference right off. David Foster made the same prediction about Whitney and it came to pass. However, there are many reasons why many of her "imitators" haven't reached Whitney's success and won't. For starters, Whitney Houston was one of a kind, an original gifted by almighty God. She was indeed the whole package: stage presence, elegance, charisma, beauty, vocal control & range, brilliant & distinct enunciation & musical phrasing, and a very special anointing from the Lord. Hence, she remains The Voice to this day. There are many imitators, but only ONE originator: Whitney Elizabeth Houston. I knew Wendy would go far on the The Voice because she's still very talented. Even if she doesn't win The Voice this year, she's good. Her resume speaks for itself.
I remember people always comparing her to Whitney. And to be honest, they sounded similar. I think Whitney was discovered first so she seemed like a copycat. But we’re from the same city… everyone knew she was a star here.
Wendy is definitely a star 🌟🌟🌟, tough competition this season.
Sadly, her greatest asset was also her greatest fault...a voice that is so similar to that other "voice". As a result, she just didn't get the recognition she deserved. The talent is undoubtedly up there, but she needed a signature sound. Something that would have set her apart from the rest. It took me a while to realize that it wasn't Whitney singing "coming in out of the rain".
All that aside, I really enjoy listening to her. Wishing her all the best.
