I agree about the best era of DC. Especially, the early Post-Crisis run, they could do no wrong. Byrne on Superman, Perez on Wonder Woman, etc.... I miss that. I'm also reading the New Titans trades that covers that period, I'm on volume 2.
Jack of Hearts #4 was the first comic I ever bought! Had no idea what was going on since it was the last issue in the limited series but I was a devout comic book collector after that! Great to see it made your list!
I don't know if this counts because it started out as a mini-series before being a trade but one of my favorites was John Byrne's Man of Steel mini-series. It marked the start of his run on the character, each issue was pretty stand alone in that they were different points in the pre-series run and had such great stories such as the Post-Crisis appearance of Bizarro. Lex Luthor's old power armor (used by his security forces, off and on) and it set up a much clearer and more solid reason for Lex Luthor hating Superman and wanting to kill him. To me, the '80s was the high water mark and if I can ever get my comics off the ground they will be very throwback to the '80s to be sure, especially mid 80's and on.

One of my favorite comics from the 80's was Sergio Aragones' "Groo the Wanderer". No comic book ever made me laugh as hard as that one (although Gen 13 later came close, especially with the antics of Grunge). But yeah, the artwork of Aragones' combined with the goofball humor that permeated Groo the Wanderer made for a great one-two punch of comedy. One of my favorite scenes: Groo is walking along, and he tries to greet a group of charging horseriders, and get a little information. One of the riders snidely says: "Stand aside, pedestrian! We are horsemen!" Groo's response: "What?! No one calls Groo something he does not understand and lives to tell about it!" After which he proceeds to cleave into the horsemen, and send them running with fear! Good times! I also liked, in Teen Titans, when Wonder Girl got her sexier, leggier star outfit and became Troia.

What sucks is... Bill Mantlo is now in assisted living and has been for years. In the early 90's he was struck by a hit-in-run driver and was badly injured. Last I heard he's on the verge of absolute poverty and his health is very bad. So much for the creator of The Guardians of the Galaxy and the writer of Rom Spaceknight.
You gotta read Larry Hamas Nth Man from Marvel. Only 16-17 issues, but really cool and fun. Combines superheros, military/war, ninjas and a psychopath named Alphie, its awesome.
Other than Teen Titans, X-Men, Wonder Woman, Dazzler and Love & Rockets, one of my faves was Whisper, about a female ninja named Alexis Devin. It had a dark and moody tone, and was one of First Comics' (Nexus/American Flagg etc) longest-running titles (3 years). I actually had a letter published in it. I think it was Whisper that made me realize in high school that a female lead character could effortlessly work in selling comics even if it wasn't a famous heroine like Wonder Woman. The writing just needs to be good - an issue with which the CG folks are grappling even today.
Ive read (and loved) everything on this list except Mazing Man. The Elementals however were a particular favorite of mine, I only recently was able to read all of the issues I was unable to acquire way back then so after 20+ years I got to finish (the unfinished) series. But what is this about Fathom surviving beyond the original series? Can you please give me some more info. A google search brings up nothing but Mike Turner's character and Comic Vine has nothing on her past the original run.
I'm not going to waste time railing about what WASN'T on your list as I know you will cover them in future videos . I had the complete run of Badger in the collection tion I had to sell , and I recently picked up number one again and now I HAVE to find them all again . The Jack of Hearts is an interesting choice ..I thought the best part was working Marcy Kane into the story as his love interest . You're absolutely right about Dazzler ..That series was jam packed with super hero guest stars and just a blast to read .Teen Titans ..the mob storyline that introduced the Vigilante is one of the best storylines in comic book history..period .Crisis led to 20 years of DC being better than Marvel so it won't be me fighting you . And the Kid who Collected Spider-man is one of the greatest single issues of a comic book ..again , period . Looking forward to the next 10 .

I have every single comic you put on this list & showed images of lol. I have doubles of a lot so am probably going to be selling some to clear space. I have over 100 long boxes and it’s time I clear space lol. I love Ronin, Crisis was a really cool series. I think I might even read it again.

Loved Willingham's "The Elementals," especially the first series. Was really disappointed to hear he lost the rights to them to Comico and then didn't get them back when Comico went out of business. They were one of my top 3 favorite titles in the 80's (along with Uncanny X-Men and Teen Titans).
Loved Elementals! Fathom was the best. Becky was a Jewish-American Princess with green skin who could control water. I could relate to that. But no, Englentine, Fathom is not "still around" from this book. You're thinking of Michael Turner's Fathom, whose name is Aspen Matthews and is a totally different character. Also good but not the same one.
The 80s will always stand out and be great. They did something that was never done before and it worked. It paved the way for alot. I like the mid 2000s and on though. To me that was a great time too.
