Nope, this move would've been a good idea 4 years ago. Too late in the day now...injuries, liability on D, contract is gross for the player he has proven to be...plenty of reasons to say no and just blind hope to say yes to this trade. The Kings of 2014 would make this move, 2024 Kings shouldn't
That's a lot of money but having 3 guys who can create their own shot is huge. Risky but if you don't give up more than Kevin and Harrison and protected 1st its definitely tempting. Also this reminds me of when Vince left Toronto. That Chicago team ade no sense last few years. I think wherever he ends up barring major injury Zach is going to be Zach of even 2 years ago.
No! Deuce said all my concerns, plus having no bench after a supposed trade. I want Kuzma more than LaVine bc he has size, length, and shooting.
As a wolves fan that appreciates this channel and has seen plenty of Zach lavine... Dont do it. You guys dont need a defensive liability. Plus a ton of Zachs game is based on athleticism and even if he is healthy this year, theres no telling how much of that is left. Dont be fooled, Zach as a player being paid what he is is only slightly better off for a team than Bradley Beal... Slightly.
hell no! injury prone, not worth that kind of salary, and is a HUGE LIABILITY on defence, Kings need a defensive presence more they need to be better defensively before looking at offense!
If the Kings are willing to take a chance on Ingram they should for Lavine too. What else is actually out there that can move the needle for this team?
1. Hitting free throws.
2. Less injuries
3. Hitting 3’s
4. Not playing Pelicans 6 times.
5. “Moving the needle” with synergy and bench depth from adding several affordable players instead of just one expensive player:
Bobby Portis Jr. and Kyle Kuzma.
Malcolm Brogdan or Gary Trent Jr. if Monk leaves, and Mason Plumlee to back-up Sabonis.
With monk intending to come back I think we just need kuzma now. Starting 5 of fox monk Murray kuzma sabonis

Who exactly wanted to re-sign HB for $18 mil/year because that seems much more problematic than everyone initially made it out to be. I don't think it was Monte McNair because talks between him and HB went silent for a couple weeks - he was looking hard to upgrade. Guess we'll never know because apparently I'm the only one who cares
Everyone knows we are the Sacramento Kings right? Players his tier do not want to come here. We absolutely take the risk. Or we can keep waiting for a miracle trade or signing that everyone wants that will never happen. All while fox and sabonis have their primes wasted and eventually trade them for a rebuild. Id chance it instead of looking back at what if. Just my thoughts.
I don't completely disagree, but they need to add size, toughness, and defense. The Kings should look at other offers and revisit a Lavine trade. He's not going anywhere. The Bulls have been trying to trade him for months

I don't love it, but Heurter and Barnes should be bench players. You're not getting much for either of them.
Please throw the bag at OG Anouby instead & get John Collins on the cheap - move Huerter and HB to bench or trade for a Kessler type BIG. WCF or Bust after that!
Kings don't need him to be the #1 star. He could work, and the salary cap will go up soon from the tv deal.
Hell no, injury prone and his contract is a horrible. This could go horribly wrong maybe Keegan and Keon Ellis turn into allstars but you have to let them go because of Lavines contract. This team us 2 years away from being 2 years away use your lottery pick on a player

Don’t do it! I’d rather see them trade for a more cap friendly contract. LaVine needs the ball too much as well.

After much thought, I conclude with a hard no on Levine. If Bradley, Durant, and Booker doesn’t work, zach Levine and whoever on the kings won’t work.

I dont want them to run it back but would hope there would be different options than Lavine. The problem is if it does not work out how would you get out of Lavine's contract? You know he is going to pick up his player option.

Probably need to trade Keegan+keon ellis and a 1st or multiple firsts to get out from that contract, then again Vivek is the captain of the ship- "stauskus?...stauskus?"

Kings should because Monk is gone. Not only that but LaVine makes the Kings better and he’s realistically obtainable. People are making this too complicated, which is very much my fear with Scared McNair. Just like with reports that Siakam was out on the Kings because they were being shady and trying to knock down his value. Some very poverty like things going.
RP, you have to at least acknowledge the risk of trading for LaVine.
@@DeuceandMo 100%. There’s a lot of risk, just like with any player that is in LaVine’s tier of players. None of them are perfect, they either have injury concerns, contract concerns, ego concerns, defensive concerns, fit concerns, etc… but that’s the level of assets the Kings have. I’d wager a Fox and LaVine backcourt would be a revelation for the Kings.

It’s always the same lazy argument about being injury prone. Keep in mind the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons were each 72 games seasons. The Bulls didn’t even play their last 9 games in 2019-2020 because they weren’t close to qualify in for a playoff spot. Yes he has one significant injury in 2023-2024, which caused him to get season ending surgery. But note the Pistons were close to trading for him and he made a career decision to get surgery and keep himself from being traded there. There’s so much more. Zach makes the Kings better, stop acting like the Kings are some luxury team that can get any player they want. They’re not…

Lavine would be at least 4th on my wish list... Would rather chase Ingram, Kuzma, or Jerami Grant. I really believe in Keon and think he is going to take the starting 2 spot next season if Monk isn't back. As much as it pains me, the Malik Rocket post and Fox playing dumb tells me that he is gone. So we will need to add offense, but I think it need to come on the form of a 3 or 4. Not Lavine. If Monk does return, and starts, we will need a defensive stopper at the 3. In 3 guard lineups, I think Keon could slide over depending on matchups, but I would definitely shop Kevin and Harrison for a defensive wing.

My gut is saying no. I would prefer more size, defense, and someone who plays more in the flow of the offense. At the same time, I don’t know who that guy is. We need some dogs (cue Deuce bark) and Zach Lavine doesn’t fit that mold - but who really does that’s available?

Am I the only one that thinks Levine isn’t much of an upgrade from Barnes? I could be wrong but, I don’t get it. And as far as Kevin.. he had a bad year however he was a large piece of the Kings turn around. And after hearing this about Levine’s injuries it’s a big NO
You only watch kings basketball and it shows. Nothing wrong with that but don't speak on players you don't know about, Zach for all his faults is a bucket getter through and through, He would definitely be an upgrade over HB production wise.
@@diavontepele-clark8181 lol. I’m gonna speak on ALL the players. I’m familiar with Levine. I asked… How much of an upgrade is he from HB. “ How much” not that he’s bad. He has a considerable contract and no one is winning with him as their 1st or 2nd best even. It’s 2024 why assume I only watch Kings ball. I could say you only watch Bulls ball and think Levine is way better than even an HB but that probably wouldn’t be accurate. Regardless. No thanks on Levine. Concerned with his availability too. Slightly injury prone. If we get him I hope I’m wrong. If Sac wins a chip with him…. Then I’ll have egg on my face… I guess.
@pfqtwo9505 He's not injury prone though, that's just the narrative. Two seasons ago he played 70+ games. The only reason he played 25 games this year was because he was about to be traded to Detroit so he decided to have his surgery (which I don't blame him for). Even then, Having 3 shot creators on the roster would be huge for the kings it would take pressure off of Fox and Monk as the primary shot creators. As much as every kings fan likes to yell about the defense our offense took a huge step back from last year even when good defense was being played our offense would stagnate severely. Im not saying Zach is end all be all but from what I'm seeing the Bulls are basically giving him away so they can dump his salary So that means we could probably get some picks out of him, Maybe even a rotational player to sweeten the deal for his massive contract.

Good thing Sabonis is the type of assisting big man he is. My wife is a Bulls fan. Grew up outside of Chicago and went to University of IL with Deron Williams. I see plenty of Bulls games. Only thing I’m concerned about is Demar age. I didn’t know he was that old till they said his age discussing the trade. I’m a little put at ease that he averaged over 20 last year and plays a ton of minutes. I’m glad it’s him instead of Zach. Do you agree Demar over Zach was a better fit? Or no?
@pfqtwo9505 Don't know to be honest, I don't hate it, But I want to see the lineup in action before I make a judgement fit wise. But in general I like Demar and what he brings the table, Hopefully the kings can use Heurter and some FRPs to land another wing player preferably a more defensive one.

Kings need to draft a big this year and send off a few future picks and bench guys to bring in Kuzma. Use the mid level or trade for a backup PF. That takes care of everything the Kings "need" to get better.
