Yo también tuve el privilegio de visitar la Cascada Vernal en Mayo de este año. Es un trekking de nivel medio porque para llegar al tope tienes que subir muchísimos escalones de granito. Todo el trayecto tiene vistas espectaculares. Son 4 horas aproximadamente para subir y regresar. 100% recomendado.
I saw lot of kids on the trail. If he/she is okay with the elevation gain, should be okay. Make sure to wear good shoes with Grip. At some point staircases become higher and water runs through it.
