Totally with you on this. I bought a 15k dell optiplex with 9th gen i3 and it works great even for 4k playback and some older games. Smaller than a laptop, and takes only 60Watt on max usage. People forget that bigger PCs consume a lot of power even when they're just watching videos or browsing.

I got a tiny used dell optiplex PC for 15k with core i3 and integrated graphics. It works great for everything and I can play games which are older than 2014 easily on this. Of course I upgraded the Ram and added a monitor and peripherals but you can connect it to your TV and buy a cheap MB/KB combo as well.

1080p on 27inch is fine, you will get used to it in few days. If you have a good graphics card only then buy a 2k monitor. Because quality is worse on 2k monitor when you set the resolution to 1080p. But the same will look fine on 1080p screen.

1080p on 27inch is fine, you will get used to it in few days. If you have a good graphics card only then buy a 2k monitor. Because quality is worse on 2k monitor when you set the resolution to 1080p. But the same will look fine on 1080p screen.

If u're purpose is sole gaming 4060 Ti can perform 5-10% lower to 3080 Ti after turning on dlss & other frame generation settings.
But in other purposes like productivity, rendering, editing & machine learning the above mentioned previous gen used flagship cards will perform better.
