Sir, my husband asked me to write you for him. He really enjoys your videos, they help him feel better about himself. He was an OTR driver for 35 years. His career was ended when he fell and broke his neck and back. One of the trucks he drove was like yours except his upholstery was brown and his radio was in a different spot. Watching you with the way your camera is set makes him feel like he is behind the wheel driving again. This is wonderful therapy for him. We both want to thank you "for taking him along". We live in Washington State, 100 miles north of Spokane. God bless, be safe and enjoy the road.

You're right - changing fuel filters in absolutely cold, windy & snow is one of the least favorite activities that a driver can experience. You're truly a brother and a saint for taking the time to help out the Gentry's. Hope all works out for the better, but we all know recovering from a devastating loss like that won't be an easy task. Drive safe!

The joys of winter driving. If your diving slower because it’s slippery, we’ll that’s what ya got to do. This video brought some memories for sure. Sometimes ya just get no where fast. High sided trailer’s with little weight in them on an icy road with heavy winds always kept ya puckered up tightly. But after you drove through crap like that there was a sense of accomplishment. Drivers earn there keep in winter time. Loved the video FSC. We got a first hand look on what’s it like for an OTR driver. Well FSC have a great and a safe day, happy trails and happy motoring….

@@itsjustme9318 no those high-end GoPros they're made for all weather all year round they've got a very durable shell. They test them and all kinds of extremes from insane heat to Arctic temperatures. The high-end ones are very rugged
The cheaper ones aren't like that but you ever watch like those things on RUclips or someone skiing down the mountain and it's their point of view they got to GoPro on top of their head in the freezing cold that's pretty much the kind of one I think Steve has to it's one of the high-end ones but when you're making videos like that sometimes the expense will pay for itself in the long run.

With humidity and wind speed wind chills at 80 degrees below chill . Two steps out doors breaking ice out of mustache and beard . Helpers used sledge hammers to beat on cat walks and decks . From floor to floor 10’ feet long ice sickles . Structure was 435 feet tall , smoke stack was 1100 feet tall . We complained but kept on working on the structure

Loved the video. You’re a brave man pulling that empty trailer through all that. Every American should see this to see what kind of crap people have to go through to keep America moving. They wouldn’t understand all of it but maybe they would get a sense of it. Probably not 😒 In a different life (many many moons ago) I hauled produce from Florida up to Boston and potatoes from Northern Maine and Canada (400 miles from the southern Maine border on 95) back down south in the winter. Took me a few lessons to learn not to pop my trailer brakes overnight with an empty trailer. The only trucks I’ve ever driven OTR were cab over Freightliners. Your videos bring back waves of memories. I do miss it but I don’t think my blood pressure would let me live the way people are now. I would be in a constant state of pissed off. Hah! Be safe bro and keep us moving 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I am trying to find, and I'll pay a finders fee if need be, but the years for the International Eagle 9800 Condo Sleep Flat Floor Cabover I want is 97 98 99. The ole JB Hunt, Walmart, and others used them used in their fleet. The truck is not for hire so, it doesn't need to be perfect. I am going to paint and do the interior to my own liking. My only concern is runs engine and trans, and that it's able to be driven now when I buy. was born and raised in South bend, IN, 40 yrs, and I worked over there in the RV capital of the world. All my family is still there but 6 yrs ago I moved to Asheville, NC, Smoky/Blue Ridge Mountain. That weather wasn't too bad for the people that live there. We are used to it and drive like notta going on, just another day. South bend, IN, there is one of the top 10 snowiest cities in the US, lake effect is bad on a regular.

I'm a lifelong Ohioan and the areas you drove through in this video are some of my favorite parts of Ohio. Even though you were driving through western Ohio and I live in eastern Ohio, A LOT of the state looks like it does in your vid when you get away from the big cities. It's not as interesting to drive through in weather like this, but during the summer you drive through these areas and see all kinds of old auto shops and garages and places like that with vintage cars and trucks parked around. Then you'll come to the small town center that is 150 years old and still looks just like a "frontier" town, just with modern cars parked all around instead of horses, and a modern gas station here and there. It's the USA as it used to be in "the good old days"...just a little more dilapidated than it was in its heyday.

Back in the day you used to be able to buy a rod that had a ratcheting mechanism on it that would go up or down similar to an old bumper jack but much smaller and it was used the set your idle or in some cases it was used as cruise control by some of the super truckers out there.

I agree, Steve. Keeping it nice and slow on the back roads rather than deal with all the loonies on the Interstate was the right choice. The odds of an idiot closing down all the lanes for hours is too great.

That truck following you because they knew your safe and trustworthy. I miss the traveling and pay,the old school trucks and drivers..esp when making it through challenging conditions. 25 yrs and 2.5 million miles till the bastards took me off the road for medical reasons.

It's so amazing how many people drive with their full ways on that I'm passing you up and I also believe that tow truck should wait until after to get the cars off the road but they do it because they can charge a more
