This is so nostalgic When I had a functional computer before, I used to love playing these modpacks in creative for the heck of it and sometimes even adding more mods
You can also use that condenser setup to multiply your uranium and tin then compress the uranium and make the capsule things and you have an infinite supply :P
hold up, the thermal monitor outputs redstone signal on every sides, nuclear reactor turns on by redstone signal, the signal transmitted by the thermal monitor would be recieved by the nuclear reactor....hmmmm
**UPDATE 2018**: If you still want to use this method, limit the reactor to 39 Uranium rods and fill the rest with ice. In order to keep the Transposer/filter sending the ice fast enough, put red matter in the bottom right corner of the condenser and shift click the ice stack to the left of the red matter. this ensures the condenser fills with as much EMC as it can possibly buffer, it wont run out any time soon. Explanation (for nerds that find it interesting like me): Filters only take a stack when its present in the top left corner, if there's not a full stack, it'll just take whatever is there, be it 1 piece or 39 or whatever, so filling the condenser's EMC buffer to max ensures that a new stack will always be generated when the previous one is taken, for as long as approximately 16 pieces of red matter will create Ice blocks. In terms of the HV cables exploding, it seems that they've been nerfed to handle much less EU without exploding, and 39 Uranium rods is the maximum a nuclear reactor can output without exploding the cable. Have fun!
Yep, the cells will deplete after a while but you'll just have ice remaining. Clear up the extra ice, put back in some new cells and boom...good to go.
Only thing I would update is that the ice doesn't return to the chest, as the filter will only pull from the chest, but will not allow it to go in. That is why you have to have it facing the correct way. I would put some extra pipe coming off of it and having the extra ice run into another alchemical chest for creating anything else, just to keep tons of ice items from being loaded. Otherwise, this is a great video.
You still have to process the uranium, replace the extra ice and make sure that the cells go in the right slot. I wouldnt recommend it as you must maintain control of the placement of the cells.
Before you make this make a massive chamber, with 3 layers of reinforced stone. 3 layers should be safe, I was testing on creative before, and on my legit world it blew up and my house was fine.
Just so you know if you're running a Mass fabricator off Nuclear power you hook the Mass fabricator right up to the HV cable. The Mass Fabricator can handle any power input, and it'd produce UU about 50x faster if you didn't downgrade the power.
you can put the filter directly to the side of the side of the chamber and eliminate the need for the numismatic tube and thermal monitor. i also did find it useful to put a switch next to the reactor as well as the timer so nothing is running while switching out materials
remember also people that world ankors (how ever its spelled) only effect the chunk it is in, some of you machinery may be crossing to other chunks so activate the chunk grid on rei's mini map to see where you are building and so you can ensure you do not cause some of your tech to not work. so check everything before you activate it (he did also mention within the video and i have made loads of these. it does work)
And LittleGamer95 just put another setup the same as the ice, but with uranium and a faster timer, then you can have a fully automatic reactor, and you don't need to worry about "boom-boom" because it has the thermal monitor loop
Pardon my brash answer but the most probable reason is that your HV transformer is in the incorrect position. The side that has 3 markings in a triangle shape need to bee connected to the reactor all the other markings on it that are singular are outputs. Your MFSU needs to be connected to one of the single marks on the HV transformer not the triangle one. Hope this fixes it.
Cheers great video. It really helped it works perfectly I've now also got it so that when it overheats, blast doors automatically close and a water cooling system starts!
you do need it, this is a mk5 reactor, and needs cooldown time to not blow up, the thermal montior gives it that by sending shutting it down every-now-and-then
you sir are wrong in part of the video, the masss fabricator accepts a LOT of power and can be rigged directly to the 4x cable, and it would be more simple to put integrated heat dispersers in a checkered pattern and put checkered uranium and coolant cells and the rest of the empty slots.
Bue if you add a energy condenser, a diomond pipe, 4-8 numadic tubesn then use the diomond pipe to make the emty cells go to the condenser to become urainum cells that go back into the reactor it means infinite energy plus you can add energy collecters.
This setup won't work on the latest Tekkit Lite. The reactor code has been entirely rewritten and ice cooling is not available, instead you'll be working with heat vents and the likes.
This design doesn't work if you put the reactor under load. It works just fine if you don't use any machines hooked up to it, but as soon as you do the ice drains faster than you can refill and... boom.
So I built this after I got bored on a server and I figured I would use the power somehow. Once I got it built and running I watched the MFSU and the reactor for a few minutes to make sure nothing went wrong fast. I got about 1 million EU in probably less than a minute. Needless to say, I now how wayyyyy too much power and don't know what to do with it. I'm now happy :P
hey beau, theres a better reactor that acts off the same principle, if you put the ice all in on the left/right, putting the next one on the top/bottom of the other row, it'll get 20 more eu/t.
So it was useful...but in what way could I improve it? Instead of making a dickhead comment, a constructive "dude you could do it like XYZ" is actually helpful for everyone watching and would establish your superior knowledge while being cool in the process. Thanks for watching
Hey Nils. It probably blew up because you didnt have it hooked up to a power source when you turned it on. lol I did the same thing. You have to make sure that the power is running to something before you flip the switch.
@Jigsaw MawMan. no you don't have to wait. make sure the dots of the HV-transformer and the MFSU are in the right direction.@beausafk this thing is awesome, I didn't get it above the 18000 thank you.
D: It just doesn't produce any eu! It uses up ice and uranium rods but I checker with an Eu reader and the reactor itself is making any D: (I'm on my private bukkit server if that make a difference.) And before you ask, I FOLLOWED EXACTLY.
So this relies on the old version of Equivalent Exchange? Also I'm pretty sure that ice blocks, water buckets, lava buckets and external heating and cooling no longer works for IC2 reactors. I believe you have to use coolant cells, heat exchangers and heating cells. Would it be possible to do an updated tutorial for the updated IC2? I find the changes to reactors confusing and there don't seem to be many tutorials on them.
well he coverted it down to a glass fiber cable out put and i want to up grade it and add a pump out if your uraniam rods die off and it works just put in a case
@Beausafk weird. I ran my nuke for about 30 seconds and my mfsu was fully charged with 10,000,000 EU. I only had about 166 degrade on my uranium cells (I'm talking about the part that comes after the ID when you use not enough items. Mine was :166 and decreased by 1 every second.)
Good tekkit classic tutorial man. No longer will i have my howler alarms go off and turn Minecraft into Chernobylcraft.
DONT TRY ON TEKKIT LEGENDS IT WILL BLOW UP
+Wizard_JuanoJuan M8 No shit.. Tekkit legends does not use ice as cooling.. This is tekkit classic.
+Wizard_JuanoJuan M8
Thanks for the warning. i was wondering why my reactor wasnt accepting the ice
+ickesra i was too
+Wizard_JuanoJuan M8 Tekkit Classic is better anyway
well that was a little harsh. o-o

A stack of ice a second? Dude, no.
Yep, the cells will deplete after a while but you'll just have ice remaining. Clear up the extra ice, put back in some new cells and boom...good to go.
@George Calascione thank you for making an exception and im happy you now have additional knowledge for your tekkit build
Only thing I would update is that the ice doesn't return to the chest, as the filter will only pull from the chest, but will not allow it to go in. Oh it does, its pretty close to the max of the 4x copper wire but does work. nice work
Before you make this make a massive chamber, with 3 layers of reinforced stone. 3 layers should be safe, I was testing on creative before, and on my legit world it blew up and my house was fine.
"don't do it like that, otherwise, BAD SHIT HAPPENS"
I did it the right way and my house got nuked. wtf.
Shiny Baubles
lol.
BeRAd427 "I did it like that, LOTS OF POWER CAME OUT"
energy link... and here i was making and using electric motors lol. one of the best tutorials ive seen yet on this subject
Just so you know if you're running a Mass fabricator off Nuclear power you hook the Mass fabricator right up to the HV cable. The Mass Fabricator can handle any power input, and it'd produce UU about 50x faster if you didn't downgrade the power.
cool, glad to hear youre good to go
Gonna be awhile before I can build it, as I'm currently doing everything non-creative, but this will help our server a ton. Thanks!
When you press the e key to enter your inventory, click "Options" and find "Live Search" or something like that and switch it to "yes"
you can put the filter directly to the side of the side of the chamber and eliminate the need for the numismatic tube and thermal monitor. i also did find it useful to put a switch next to the reactor as well as the timer so nothing is running while switching out materials

@LittleGamer95 yep, it does.
you do need it, this is a mk5 reactor, and needs cooldown time to not blow up, the thermal montior gives it that by sending shutting it down every-now-and-then
@Radu Miron try the geo thermal loop, its way way bigger
The world anchor makes sure that chunck is always loaded, if it isnt it might glitch and stop working, and explode.
you sir are wrong in part of the video, the masss fabricator accepts a LOT of power and can be rigged directly to the 4x cable, and it would be more simple to put integrated heat dispersers in a checkered pattern and put checkered uranium and coolant cells and the rest of the empty slots.
but the boom boom is so much fun telling you again :D
@Misder SnowyShanker nope, more than 512 eu per packer = boom
It just doesnt work while the chunks arent loaded is all.
basic machines accept 32*, i'm guessing was a typo but just incase people need that info i felt the need to correct it
@Erik Teesalu glad i could help
Set up something, like a quarry or a miner. And tansport the things that come out of it into an energy condenser.
Make sure your output isn't the one facing the HV Transformer. (The output is the side that is different than the others.)
Bue if you add a energy condenser, a diomond pipe, 4-8 numadic tubesn then use the diomond pipe to make the emty cells go to the condenser to become urainum cells that go back into the reactor it means infinite energy plus you can add energy collecters.
This is some high quallity content, love it!
I cannot place ice inside the reactor, any idea why?
The world anchor works better and it renders a lot more than a teleport tether...
I would recommend using a world anchor...
@Ekeoz 4 snowballs in a square= ice
You can make ice without energy collectors- you can make a cooblestone generator and than put it into energy condenser.
This setup won't work on the latest Tekkit Lite. The reactor code has been entirely rewritten and ice cooling is not available, instead you'll be working with heat vents and the likes.
You can either pull the ice out of the chests with a Combustion engine or a Filter.
You could, but you would be better off using a dousing rod to find the EMC items
Actually, if you don't use an HV transformer immediately before your MFSU in this format, the MFSU will explode
This design doesn't work if you put the reactor under load. It works just fine if you don't use any machines hooked up to it, but as soon as you do the ice drains faster than you can refill and... boom.
@GT5champion glad to.help
As long as its in your pants, that's the proper place.
EE2 has Energy Collector and Condenser. They were removed from EE3 as they were overpowered and made difficult operations way to easy.
So I built this after I got bored on a server and I figured I would use the power somehow. Once I got it built and running I watched the MFSU and the reactor for a few minutes to make sure nothing went wrong fast. I got about 1 million EU in probably less than a minute. Thanks to you i don't feel like such an idiot compared to my friends. Thanks, looking forward to more
You can even run the uranium into the reactor using a different chest
add-on, off somewhere else, add another energy condenser to make diamonds form the excess ice
So far that was the best and simplest set up iv seen.
did you follow the EXACT orientation of the redstone parts, and how to setup the reactors?
So it was useful...but in what way could I improve it? Instead of making a dickhead comment, a constructive "dude you could do it like XYZ" is actually helpful for everyone watching and would establish your superior knowledge while being cool in the process. Thanks for watching
Thankyou so much for relpying gamingcoash!
if you use an mffs reactor cooling sytem (2) you will have more uranium cells, thus more power
also you can use teleport teather and i think when 1.3 is out chickenchunks and forge chunkloaders aswel
Sometimes it might take a while before it starts pumping the ice.
Dude that was a great tutorial video, I don't normally comment but I was really impressed.
What would happen without a world anchor? Can I just take the uranium out when I am about to leave?
that's great reactor but what if thermal monitor destroy your world and you can't play it anymore?
Hey Nils. It probably blew up because you didnt have it hooked up to a power source when you turned it on. lol I did the same thing. You have to make sure that the power is running to something before you flip the switch.
omg you freaking genius i made 3 of these on my world and the power im getting is insane!!!! your awsome bro keep up the videos
@diamondminer41 one of the reasons you might not be Able to find energy condensers is because you are playing on feed the beast, not tekkit
thermal monitor didnt correctly? sounds like an id10t error to me?
4:00 we had long seconds back then
Will no longer wrk because ice no longer cools down a reactor. Or water.
Oh, nvm! I just found out I put a single block of ice in the filter! Thanks for the tutorial bro.
Try hooking up a bunch of low voltage stuff to the combined power of 5 of those reactors just for fun
@Jigsaw MawMan. no you don't have to wait. make sure the dots of the HV-transformer and the MFSU are in the right direction.@beausafk this thing is awesome, I didn't get it above the 18000 thank you.
this is consudered classic now
Thank u so much this was my first nuclear reactor and most definitely my best
I did this just like you, but my reactor doesn't do anything, it doesn't even use the uranium cells?
@minecraftbuliders8 yep, but i prefer to manually load my reactor so i can check on it
I advise cloning the world then making it on the clone, if it goes wrong then keep on trying until it works, then do it on your original
D: It just doesn't produce any eu! It uses up ice and uranium rods but I checker with an Eu reader and the reactor itself is making any D: (I'm on my private bukkit server if that make a difference.) And before you ask, I FOLLOWED EXACTLY.
Got no power at all, followed instructions to perfection, playing in tekkit classic.
Same
I know I'm a bit late, but have you tried flicking the lever? That's what worked for me.
Are you using Tekkit Classic?
Gwet qu high voltage solar panels and 5 glass fibre cables, thats the best way to power a mass fabricator
watch the video, there is a temp monitor loop
A mass fabucater runs on any eu but extream with a nuckure reactor puts out
I cant make a nuclear reactor with 2030 eu BUT i can make a alternative energy source combo that produces like 6080 eu per tick
nope, just a happy guy
well he coverted it down to a glass fiber cable out put
and i want to up grade it and add a pump out if your uraniam rods die off and it works just put in a case
it's ok I found out that watch of flowing time is a death trap when ur using the reactor it stops the timer and than the ice runs out and...... kaboom
you dont put it in, when the mass fabricator gets power, the uu matter is made in it and can only be taken out.
snow in compressor (snow in the snow biome with a spade)
I'd switch it off unless that person that's always online is going to be in the same chunk, otherwise boom boom
Did you use a HV converter?
What the fuck? A nuclear reactor in Minecraft? Damn, these mods are getting better and better!
HV transformer...Use 4x cable into it.
Very Good Tutorial! Has Gained An Enormous Amount Of Energy For Me Thanks!
how in the hell did you place that lever on the nuclear chamber?
Nice setup but it might blow up at night without glowstone on the collector
