when hurricane Helene hit Atlanta I was on a southwest flight landing with almost 0NM of visibility. I saw the runway once we got to at least 100 above the runway. KATL does not stop operations despite those horrible conditions! great video Jeff
Hey Jeff, my names Keith I’m from Jacksonville Florida we got hit with winds bad also but my auntie Roof flew off her house she’s good though, but I was watching your video though the whole storm, and I want to say I love your videos man keep up the good work
I was supposed to follow it up through Augusta but it pushed me over Savannah and by the time I got my heading lined back up I was over Toccoa. A real plane would have probably burnt down or been one hell of a ride but idk I have never flown an actual DHC-6 much less one through a hurricane hahah
My dad passed away yesterday afternoon, last night I saw this posted and your landing made me laugh, that was such a wild landing and then the runway made you jump. It was a good time and helped out last night. Thanks again as always jeff for the awesome videos.
Haha, I was about to comment that I was doing this last night in an SR22 and sure enough I see my nametag literally landing in the background just before your shutdown. As expected, it was wild.
Hey Jeff, I live just south of Tally. Rode out Helene at home…. Not fun. I was just in the extreme wind warning as it made landfall. Thank god winds only got to 69mph sustained and gust at 99 mph. I lost one tree…thank god it didn’t hit my house!
Yeah I live in St Pete Tampa area we just got missed by Helen now we're about to get hit directly by Category 5 Milton hopefully it will downgrade before landfall but it is still going to be devastating for us if it's Category 3 or 4 prayers from St Pete to all of you in the Tallahassee area luckily you will be missed by this Milton hurricane
I live near Jax and I never been scared until this one. It was going okay until it decided to take a hard right at the same time Florida Doppler went down. I'm in camper with no Doppler it scary
I flew up from the airport in Tallahassee along with the storm in the FGFS Twotter, I stay in the Upstate of SC and am often in WNC also. We lost power early where I am but got it back pretty quickly. I was just about to Anderson Regional in the sim when the lights went off
😊Hey Jeff! I was impacted by the hurricane as well. They were also tornados in the area. We don't get power until October 5th. It was bad. I was located in the Georgia area. Prayers for those struggling in these times.
This was a great video i enjoyed this alot and im in orlando florida all we got was some rain and wind here but some areas got hit and mainly had flooding and stuff. Anyways keep up the great work much love to ya jeff have a good one take care god bless and i will see ya on ths next one
Fortunately, I was vacationing in Orlando when Helene hit, so not a massive amount of danger. *Un*fortunately, Helene did cancel my train home and stranded me here for a few extra days, so content like this on the hurricane has been my only activity, but incredible take off and landing, Jeff, like scenes straight out of a disaster action movie!
I lived through hurricane Helene in inland Georgia was awful never seen this much damage from a hurricane before trees destroyed on cars houses one huge tree on my grandpas shed people fighting for gas and looting stores and we still don’t have power.
Jeff !! Holy moly that landing !! Your the man I don't care what anyone says I rode thT with you .WOW!!!. Nice job you hold your head high for a while.
my nephew is in florida. text him around 2 am to check on him and his girlfriend. he sent me a video of the ocean waves coming in. it was wild. hope all in florida are doing ok.
Amazing Video Jeff I forgot to do a video like this with helene. Anyway yeah the Eye started closing in similar to that shape you saw there. It went from a decent circle to a shut eye shape. Still good edits on this these are more entertaining since you did some cinematic stuff as well.,
I was flying into the eye of the storm while it made landfall with Xplane 12..... such a visual and meteorological disappointment. gusts at the airports in the Big Bend area of Florida were registering 60 mph gusts at most while the actual storm were hitting there Cat 4 winds speeds. Big bummer after the power staying on through the storm in Tampa Bay.
I did this when 2020 had just come out and it had rendered the clouds of the storm really nice with an open clear sky eye and the spirals of the storm were clearly visible. It was a magnificent view of just mountain sized clouds but there was just no wind at all. (I think it had an 'integer overflow' on the hurricane wind speeds and MSFS just noped it) With one of the weather updates the weather became more realistic and things became less visible like shown in this video. This might get even more interesting to do with 2024.
Passengers in the back going for a ride on that decent back in lol Shake and Bake! Thanks for sharing Jeff. Was awesome to see the hurricane in the Sim. Thoughts and prayers to everyone impacted by the hurricane currently
Flying through a hurricane? That doesn’t sound too good. Hope you’re doing well Jeff, keep up the great work and have a great rest of your day. Take care!
I was on the East side of the storm.. It came farther to the East than they thought.. Made landfall in Perry County. :Power here was out for almost 2 days.
The calm runway in sight while in almost a sideways bank. You almost did a Manx2 flight 7100 on landing, and did a Kia Tak approach into Tallahassee. 💀other than that fantastic video.
Awesome vid! I was flying through the eye while it was still in the gulf just off the coast. Fun stuff! Btw- which plane is this? It looks like the CRJ4 but with newer avionics.
0:12 I heard “we’re going to fire this thing up real quick” and thought I was watching ATS content for a second. Great video as always Jeff, thanks!
Love to fire one up and play ATS very honestly

Hope jeff's plane is ok
I live in jacksonville also glad you an your family were safe I lost power an paint damage to my car
Valdosta ga
@@Mr_Kordak_Smile yea man it was bad man, thank you bro
I flew through the hurricane yesterday on flight sim with the Longitude and it wasn’t anything near realistic.
Same here, it was way too easy.
Oh dang was it before landfall? I don’t think those weather stations can grab correct data
when i flew into nashville on an a310 yesterday i was getting thrown around like crazy and had to keep speedbrakes deployed to land at 155 kts
I was getting blown around in a Twin Otter on FGFS. Takeoff at Tallahassee was sketchy as f
I was supposed to follow it up through Augusta but it pushed me over Savannah and by the time I got my heading lined back up I was over Toccoa. A real plane would have probably burnt down or been one hell of a ride but idk I have never flown an actual DHC-6 much less one through a hurricane hahah
Tokyo drifting into Tallahassee
My dad passed away yesterday afternoon, last night I saw this posted and your landing made me laugh, that was such a wild landing and then the runway made you jump. It was a good time and helped out last night. Thanks again as always jeff for the awesome videos.
sorry for your loss Matt
Haha, I was about to comment that I was doing this last night in an SR22 and sure enough I see my nametag literally landing in the background just before your shutdown. As expected, it was wild.
good times!
The maddest of lads. 😂

That crosswind on landing tho 😭😭 lol 😂
Hurricanes are dangerous, mmmkay.
Go to Tennessee right now and you won’t say this
Helene just narrowly missed my area. We are still recovering so Ian so we are very lucky
I live near Jax and I never been scared until this one. It was going okay until it decided to take a hard right at the same time Florida Doppler went down. I'm in camper with no Doppler it scary
glad you are okay!
When you're purposely flying into the bumpy... if you set it to sunset when the clouds are orange, it really makes them pop.
Jeff going 3 wide into the heavy precip :D - nice video Jeff. Prayers to all affected by Helene and Milton.
I live in Orlando. We lucked out last night and got only a little rain and some wind. This was so cool to watch. Thanks Jeff.
I was surprised that you hadn't done this before. With your interest in flight sims and storm chasing, its a no brainer!. Great vid Jeff! Thank you!
Just got power back & Jeff drops me a storm aviation video. Sleeping goood tonight. Finally! Thanks Jeff
That landing bro 💀 haha nice video
Ryanair style !
That was the coolest save I’ve ever seen on flight sim!
So brave!! You’re a hero!!
that was an insane landing.. nice one
Love the multiple landing angles

Georgia here, got lucky and haven’t lost power
😊Hey Jeff! I was impacted by the hurricane as well. They were also tornados in the area. We don't get power until October 5th. It was bad. I was located in the Georgia area. Prayers for those struggling in these times.
Love the MSFS Videos! What a crazy landing with winds gusting to 48
I appreciate the music switch when you broke out of the clouds, nice touch
This was a great video i enjoyed this alot and im in orlando florida all we got was some rain and wind here but some areas got hit and mainly had flooding and stuff. Anyways keep up the great work much love to ya jeff have a good one take care god bless and i will see ya on ths next one

Here for the landing.
Aspiring to be a pilot when I grow up. Your videos are super fun to watch and always make me smile. Keep up the great work! ❤
You can do it!
I lived through hurricane Helene in inland Georgia was awful never seen this much damage from a hurricane before trees destroyed on cars houses one huge tree on my grandpas shed people fighting for gas and looting stores and we still don’t have power.
Just went through the hurricane a few. Hours ago and the winds were crazy plus wirh rain Lucky didn't get a powet outage still love your content 😁😁
I got a power outage.
We had to clean the fridge today because food was going bad.
20:34 This is why you don't clap immediately at touchdown
Clap is wild
Jeff !! Holy moly that landing !! Your the man I don't care what anyone says I rode thT with you .WOW!!!. Nice job you hold your head high for a while.
Haha thanks man
my nephew is in florida. text him around 2 am to check on him and his girlfriend. he sent me a video of the ocean waves coming in. it was wild. hope all in florida are doing ok.
I’m in Saint Augustine. Nothing but some winds and rain. Glad we weren’t hit the North East was fine. I hope everyone that was hit is okay!
I can hear my CFI screaming "MORE RIGHT RUDDER!!!"
6 days without power and counting just got cell service back always nice to see the vids jeff
@ 7:40 awesome shot but I wonder if the other people flying with live weather if the clouds look the same on their screen
it does
This looks pretty much exactly the way it did for me when I did this a couple of days ago and I was on Xbox Series X
Was playing in the outer bits on my other channel last night in a helicopter, lol. Lots of fun doing mock rescue hovering over spots in 30kt winds
That is an insane landing. What a butter landing!
Amazing Video Jeff I forgot to do a video like this with helene. Anyway yeah the Eye started closing in similar to that shape you saw there. It went from a decent circle to a shut eye shape. Still good edits on this these are more entertaining since you did some cinematic stuff as well.,

Can’t wait to see you do this In the new Msfs!
I did this when 2020 had just come out and it had rendered the clouds of the storm really nice with an open clear sky eye and the spirals of the storm were clearly visible. Love the video as always, awesome video.
I actually just flew the north eastern band in my way up to New Jersey in the Gulfstream! That was a bumpy 2.5 hours lol
Passengers in the back going for a ride on that decent back in lol Shake and Bake! Thanks for sharing Jeff. Was awesome to see the hurricane in the Sim. Thoughts and prayers to everyone impacted by the hurricane currently
So glad you caught the replay of the landing. Omg that was insane lol
I went and played in it last night when it was a cat 4 right before it made landfall, it was amazing
Amazing! Thanks Jeff!
Woohoo! More MSFS content please!
The landing from the external view looked phenomenal lol!
At the 8:51 mark talking your 0 visibility the rest look so absolutely amazing
Flying through a hurricane? That doesn’t sound too good. Hope you’re doing well Jeff, keep up the great work and have a great rest of your day. Take care!
i was going to fly on MSFS to Florida, but I decided to discover San Juan, that is detailed & resembles the Hurricane Helene
Nice flyin bro. Watchin from philippines .. keep up the good work. God bless yah!.
i’m in awe of that landing
You should do this for Milton that's about to hit Florida
You gotta do Hurricane Milton right now
I was on the East side of the storm.. It came farther to the East than they thought.. Made landfall in Perry County. :Power here was out for almost 2 days.
I'm up here in east Tennessee. A hr north of ashville nc. We got damage up here from that thing.
The calm runway in sight while in almost a sideways bank. You almost did a Manx2 flight 7100 on landing, and did a Kia Tak approach into Tallahassee. 💀other than that fantastic video.
I had the same idea! Got winds of 110-120 knots last night
Holy shit that landing! ❤
Nice landing!
Insane landing crab and bank angle
I'm in Dublin, Ga. I lived it lol. 3 trees on my house and car, no power and a leaking room. Yyaayy.
glad you are okay!
We live in the Emerald Coasst (Navarre Beach). Nothing here thankfully , thoughts to those impacted !
I was going to fly through it in game, but I underestimated how fast it was and by the time I booted up it was already over mainland Florida
yeah it was cranking
@@jfavignano Guess I got to experience some of it in real life and still am getting the leftovers lol
I did this Friday in a small airport during the hurricane. Turbulence went crazy
That landing was funny AF
Hey Jeff, do you think you'll ever do a review on the new Hori Truck Control System wheel for ATS?
I love flying in rain. I’ll fly the f18 down the Nile with rain on
Yaaaayyyyy turbulence!!!!
This is amazing
2:29 - "I __SAID__ */NO/* TAKEOFF..."
The landing was crazy good lol
(RF) Romeo Fox...nice nod to Citation Max 😁
"Category 5 Hurricane. Millions without power. Heavy damage expected."
Simmers: Oh noooo😍
Hahahha That take off was like the ones from zombie movies
Only the pilots in those movies are drunk and crash in clear weather 🤣
I knew this video was coming
I live in south east ga we got hit pretty hard still no power lost of damage
That was a lot of fun to watch haha
Helene really did a number on us in NC, cool to see it in game though!
Here on the taemac I feel Gonzo can handle it
OMG you were almost sideways when you touched down...
Jeff can you Fly over the Line Fire here in Southern California? It’s been going since September 5th
In San Bernardino County California
Flew KPIE-KORD, the storm was surreal!
Awesome vid! I was flying through the eye while it was still in the gulf just off the coast. Fun stuff!
Btw- which plane is this? It looks like the CRJ4 but with newer avionics.
It's the Longitude, the real Gonzo is a Gulfstream
The first part of landing was what I would do but maybe different from other pilots
bro my power was out whenu dropped this
And that's why you don't fly in hurricanes!!!!!! but that was a fantastic landing.
Jeff, Were You On VATSIM?
W vid jeff
Tallahassee has a bug with the runway I tried the same flight and when I came back and landed, Tallahassee made me jump the plane
I hope everyone affected by this sh*t storm makes it out okay.
Jeff, where was you takeoff from airport ICAO and that Landing ICAO is KTHL right? Mobile Airport cuz of NOAA Headquarters? lol
Big shoutout to all 400 of you “NOAA” on VATSIM surveilling the hurricane 😂
