Glad Jerome could sort the engine out for you. I really enjoyed my 251 for the time I had it, easy to ride at low revs around town, bags of torque & a decent top speed.
Acquired a Pinasco 251 engine myself recently, built from scratch by Reedspeed a couple of years ago and wow what a bike. Was like yours in the video when I swapped the engine into my PX (when I say I, I mean my mate ROB!!!) very boggy at low revs. Unfortunately Jerome was too busy as he is the man to see and always done great work for me so managed to get it dynoed elsewhere and now a totally different beast. Rode it to Aberystwyth last weekend, a little motorway riding but certainly able to keep up with the GTS300s, but with all the fun of a geared scooter. My own GTS300 is sitting sadly in the garage now wondering when it will be ridden again as this is my go to bike now, great bit of kit and another great build by the guys at Reedspeed.
Thanks for your comments. I haven't yet taken it on a longer ride, but I agree it should comfortably keep up with a GTS. Mine rides like an auto in 4th, 30-70+ without having to change down. What fuel range did you manage from it?
@@vespadventures4557 Hi mate, not been checking specifically, obviously not as good as a GTS but don't stop any more than I used to and to be honest after an hours riding my body needs a rest regardless. Was putting less in than the lambretta riders I rode with but certainly no range anxiety at all.
Hello Andrew, it's me Mac. I enjoyed your video and I've subscribed 👍 That sounds a cracking engine, nice scooter 👍 I'll keep an eye out for more videos, all the best mate 🙂
Love the video…. I was wondering which route you took to Stourport…. But once you hit the black bridge an the gilgow I new where you were heading😎👍🏼….sounds sweet motor
Great video, thanks. Who made your 2003 model? I've just aquired a 2002 px125. The logbook says vespa (Douglas) however, from what I read online Douglas didn't produce them that late on. Cheers.
You can buy the Pinasco engine as a kit and get someone to build it for you, or maybe look around the marketplace for someone selling one. I am still in 2 minds whether to sell this engine but keep the scooter with something in it more "sensible"...
Hi. I paid about £300.00 including VAT, but Jerome is very, very particular and will take the time needed to get it right. He completely re-jetted the carburettor. I rode the scooter again this weekend to Coventry and back and it was a real pleasure, nice and torquey, very rideable. (Next video from the custom show out soon!).

I recommend using an X2 Needle, with an AV264 and a mainjet between 135 and 140 depending on how much it is tuned.
AV264 with x2 is still too rich. my setting are AS264 with X3 2clips is the best overall. MJ 132. can be 135. is 30mm PHBH

Great video and now I definitely want one in my PX, great job promoting the VCB to 😉😎
Thanks, not the best engine for peak power, but at our age torque is more attractive!
Can't beat flying along at 70 even at my age 😉😎🛵
Excellent MrB what a great watch :)
Thanks Dave, it was fun to make, especially the ride home!
Very informative Mr Barlow 👍🏻
Thanks, hope you enjoyed it!
Excellent narration..thanks😊
Glad you liked it

Hi. Yours will have been made by Piaggio in Italy, the Douglas name continued to be used in the UK as they remained the importer for many years.
@@vespadventures4557 thanks
Anyone know where i can get a biult engine that's ready to go in?

I really need to get mine dynoed, what sort of price do tuners charge for setting up a scooter on a dyno.

@Vespadventures thanks for the quick reply, I'll keep an eye out for your vids.
Hmm sounds and looks like, too much oil and not enough air. Also, you have run it in correctly, right?
Running perfectly now, and yes - fully run in.
is the rally on sale ?
It’s not a rally 🙄
Its not a rally, it's a Spanish GT160. But not currently for sale.
