Great question! Yes home plate or "home base" is a base. When baseball was first originated, home plate was on top of the dirt just like all the other bases. (Sometimes in foul territory) It wasn't until 1877, that home plate was officially moved entirely into fair territory and fixed into the ground in 1877.
Number two answer is 5. When a batter is at bat and does not commit the final out he is able to complete his at bat in the next inning. The same goes for balls, the maximum number of balls that can be thrown in at an at bat is 7.
Once the 3rd out is made. That AB does not count. The AB will restart the next inning with a brand new count. Making it a brand new AB. Thanks for your comment 📈
Question nine is not entirely correct. A home run is when a batter is able to run around all three bases and reach home plate without getting out. One way this can happen is if the ball is hit over the fence in fair territory. But it can also be achieved without the ball ever leaving the field of play due to a very fast running batter, poor fielding by the defense, or some combination of the two.
13 is correct. Once ball is hit then called foul..the count is updated … 14 is also correct. Home base or home plate is considered a base. Thank you for the comment 📈
APW!
14. Is home plate technically a base?😊

13 & 14 are incorrect. A foul ball in the air may be caught for an out & there are 3 bases and home plate.
