What are some things I should know in school right now , before I get out there ? I feel like my school isn't teaching me anything. Everything is online basically we have to teach ourselves . And go to lab twice a week. It been like this since December.
Honestly the best would be to watch videos and study your book on your own, for me personally I didn’t understand anything until I actually started working
i’m about to go to a community college and major in dental assistant but i’m stuck , i’m the oldest and don’t know how it works or where to start 😕 so you prefer to get a associates degree or just get certified to be one ? OR go to a dental school to finish faster , cheaper and just get certified there ??? please help 😩
I would probably recommend you going to a dental office to see if you were able to shadow to see if you are even interested in dentistry but if you do decide that you want to do this definitely just get your certification at a dental assisting school ive never heard of someone majoring in dental assisting and I’m sure it’s way more expensive lol but how this helps 🤍
Hey kourtnee, isn’t it true assistants have to get there earlier than the hygienist and the dentist and opening up the place ? How early do the assistants have to be there than before all the others? ( 1 hour ? 30 mins? Depends on you ?)
Hey 👋🏽 every office is different but usually it’s whoever has the key. Who ever your office trust . Most often it will be the manager or doctor that will be the first to open the office.
@@KourtneeNicole aaaa okay I thought the assistants were first to open up the office and make everything ready for the others when they get there, I’m wrong! Well thanks for the quick response ! I was wondering that , thanks though!
At my office, the dentist is the only one with a key. The assistants and front desk arrive around the same time as the dentist as well. Hygiene is usually last...assistants do most of the set up.
Would I get treated fair being a man assistant?? I DON'T SEE ANY...DOES it matter if school is 190 hrs or 1000 hrs?? How do you get RDA??How are the benefits like and raises?? Do they train you well on the job?
i found a office that trains you on the job as a DA and it starts at $13 . I want to be a travel DA so I’m debating on if I should go for it or not ? Any advice ? I’m ready to find my passion and get my career started
@@KourtneeNicole they have groups on facebook that post different agencies that are looking for travel dental assistants to come work in different states , most pay for your hotel , flight and etc. you need1-2 years of experience, most want 2+
