Man, this specific screwup with Atlas has me nostalgic. Imagine not realizing the second option of a modal effect has the same activation requirement as the first option. Then again, Enemy Controller stuffs the additional requirement for stealing a monster into its second option, so it's not like there isn't precedent for that sort of thing.
This is clearly an old clip if we're seeing Halq. Still mad I didn't realize my Dinosaur deck had what it needed to start full Halq combos until two months before it got banned. Mother Spider is so, so close to being a decent card. If it didn't have the face up monsters and Insects only in the grave restrictions, it'd just be "get rid of two opposing monsters without targeting or destroying them". Getting rid of his own boss monster for no reason, twice. Wow. Just wow.
Dinos don't need Halqi to do their combos, it makes their combos more resilient to handtraps but they can still end on multiple interactions without Halq.
thats not even that great of a starter. youd need a way to dump gokipole without normal summoning, which would only be like foolish gokipole or gold sarc resonance insect. or youd need to have armor horn already on the field, in which case youd be better off adding resonance insect to extra normal summon.
@@shucklecopter8271 Right...and he did. He was in that EXACT scenario. He had no Normal summonable monsters in--hand and was reseolving the search effect of Gokipole with Armor Horn on-field. His search targets included Resonance Insect and Arbalest. He looked at Arbalest and said, "oh, but I don't have any targets for it." Gokipole itself is a revivable target for Arbalest. If he'd picked Arbalest, he could've then normal summoned it with Armor Horn, made Pico, then made Atlas, THEN revived Armor Horn and actually had a target to tribute for Atlas' effect, instead of what he did, which was make Pap, reborn armor horn, then make Atlas (we won't talk about the fact that he then tributed Atlas for Scale Bomber XD) Insects are a piecemeal strategy of being able to generate the right amount of advantage to resolve the exact same chain every turn 1 (Armor Horn & Pico into Atlas,) but you don't always have that many extenders, so you have to get creative sometimes. If he had purposely chosen to pick Res instead of Arbalest, he would've been BETTER OFF sticking with Pap so he could reborn Poison and had an interruption. He went the most sub-optimal way possible XD
Knowing halq still around this is very old clip
Fucking died when he tributed his Atlas a second time.
SECOND TIME!
I play beetropers, Thanks good i stop the video the first time he do it.
When I saw the screen zoom in Atlas's activation, I don't think I've ever felt this combination of sheer panic and disappointment before. 😂😭
Halq jumpscare to those who still felt the pain of Halqroradon and Suprise Accesscode.
as a beetrooper player i'm offended by this duel, but i laughed so i'll forgive you this time
Halq was a jumpscare
I love when you play Mother Spider
What about digital bugs mother spider? The wole point of both decks is having things in defense position.
I’m liking these loss vids. Thought for sure it was a win but I gotta learn not to underestimate logs when it comes to reading ability lol

I supose that in when the card was made they was scared of that, but now is not that impressive when you have kaijus everywhere.

ITS EVEN FUNNIER A SECOND TIME

Pro tip: Dump Gokipole, add Arbalest, normal Arbalest, reborn Gokipole :D
That said, you're really bad at insects, but it was quite entertaining XD

Halq jump scare
This is the worst duel I've ever seen
in a good way
Very painful video to watch
Mother spider is good in Scareclaw
How? Mother Spider can't summon itself if you have anything but Insects in the graveyard.
Scareclaws are Beasts, though.
It's the other way around: Tri-Heart is excellent Mother Spider tech.
@@melvinshine9841 You don't need to use it in Scareclaw deck because Tri-heart is very generic and you can summon him with any 3 effect monsters.
I think he meant against scareclaw deck
