This is interesting. The reason why they all were drawn to OA is bcs they KNEW they are part of something much bigger. Totally different ppl, different personalities but they all had 1 thing in common - they all shared pain and suffering in their own way. Their souls were drawn to that of OA's. Such a fantastic show.

I think this was beautiful, they trusted in what OA told each and every one, they trusted in the ability to help and trusted in one another, its unity something we need right now. Every one in this group had different back grounds, a thug, a teacher a misfit, its a lesson. No one really knows if it did anything but be a diversion.

This show is so underrated. It was trying to teach you an amazing message. OA was held captive as a slave with others. She was free once she started using her slave, her pain for good. She then wanted to find homer. She had to gather people that was a slave to pain as well. This is why they were all chosen and this is why it worked. Because in that moment each of them were all free from pain. Pain is only harmful when it controls you. Don’t even be clouded by any of your pains. Live life as a free spirit! 😇 you’re all Angels. OA

Shit I wasn't expecting that at all. This scene got me at the end, never cried that much. The music the 5 movements the fact that they all believed in her and the scene of her at the end... oh god! SO POWERFUL! The fact the glass cracked into 5 - representing the 5 cages was so breathtaking.

I remember I came home from work, just starting my Christmas break, and binge-watched this whole series in one sitting. It was so gripping and I couldn't pull away. My roommate came home during this scene and I told her there was no way I could even begin to describe what I had been watching. Such a great show. I'm excited to start season 2! I hope it holds up.

I've been watching TV for over half a century, and I can tell you without reservation that this is the most-powerful season-ending scene ever created. It is breathtaking, risk-taking, unique, startling and sublimely literary. It stuns me every time I watch it.

Nobody gives the fucking minimum wage cook in this scene any credit on the show. He fucking took down the gunman single handedly while kids and some teacher danced
I remember crying so hard watching this scene but also thinking how ridiculous they looked doing the movements in front of shooter but it made me realize why I was crying. These five lost souls had so much trust in OA that they were willing to risk their lives. And I'm imagining how scared they must have been, wanting to be taken away by the current so badly that they would do the movement to try to save themselves and their classmates/students from the shooter.
I just noticed but when they pan the camera to OA, the glass splintered into 5 pieces, like the five cages and the five people. They really did a wonderful job with this series. Everytime I watch it gets me.

Before watching the show i was checking some lists for recommendations and this scene came up, i thought oh man what kind of bulshit is this, looks so stupid. Then watched the show and experienced sth so deep and powerful with all the characters. when the scene happened i cried, i never cry at tv shows, but this made me feel so much. It's not about the movements, it's about the sacrifice, selflessness, humanity and unity in spite of the differences

It's about believing. No matter in what to believe. When they decided to do the movements wasn't about the movements per se. It's about what they felt was the right thing to do in that moment. It's about faith! Love so much this scene!
Yeah I think what made it so emotional was because they were all so invested in her and her story emotionally and when they came to this point where they genuinely believed she had been lying the whole time they just got up and did it anyway for the .00001% chance that something amazing would happen or that they could help in some way. And then when Steve follows her in the ambulance you know he knows and that he's not going to stop trying to find her

I've grown to like this scene more over time. I do hold some kind of macabre sense of humor that if this scene happened today you would have one extra person up on their phone running around filming it for ticktock.
I saw this scene before seeing the show, very confused and seemed silly. But after actually watching The OA, this becomes a beautiful scene.

Alicia De Roo ... I just finished season one yesterday and I have no idea why this made me cry. This scene moved me in the strangest way and I just re-watched it in this clip and I cried again. I have no idea what I watched it was a very confusing and odd show and yet somehow it touched me somehow.
I think in the end it shows that all five of the House hangout group were a multi universe copy of everyone in the glass cage. I thought it was kind of cool at the end as how the cafeteria is all glass just like the glass cage and they were all separated at different tables like OA was Separate when she was with homer, Rachel, Renata, and Scott. Plus I think if you see how they’re line up at the end for the movements it shows the order they were in the glass cage so it shows who is who in the multiple universe. Plus at the end when Steve is looking up the scientist he types in doctor or anesthesiologist like OA said to write when they were writing the letter in the glass cage. Lastly the FBI agent is hap in the new universe. The fbi guy even jokes about oa not pushing him like she did to hap. Oh and the color purple seems to show up a lot in both universes?
You think they all have their parallel selves in the parallel universe? I haven't watched the season 2 yet, and I remember the scene when French's reflection is briefly Homer, but I can't say I've noticed any similarities between the two or any other two. I actually like it for not being a carbon copy - group to group - this would make it cheaper somehow.
Also, who is the fifth movement, Rachel or Evelyn? Since Rachel was a prisoner, but didn't get the movement, is she still being counted as part of the five?

What the guys didn’t realize is that they open the portal which mean OA could go and save the others but as u could see at the season 2 trailer then it said that the professor and the other in the experiment room they have travel around the dimension so she may not find them when she’s there.

I like how they didn’t really show the shooters face except a brief glimpse, putting an emphasis on the victims and not the shooters identity, something we should see more often in real life.

@@AyAReI00 The dance is actual magic. But at that point in the show, it was expected that no one believed in the OA anymore. But they didn't stop believing in her, that's what brought them together in the end. It's not supposed to be realistic at all, it's literal magic. But it worked. It's just so beautiful within the context of the show, they were in a hopeless situation but they instantly all knew what to do. And they were willing to take the bullets first rather than watch their classmates die. TL:DR The fact that it would never work is what made it so beautiful, they were willing to die to protect everyone and this was the only weapon they had.

I remember so well realizing, just like them, what would happen, what needed to be done, as soon as the gunman entered the cafeteria. The realization of what needs to be done falling on your shoulders. And the decision to be made, right there, right now. It even feels like there is no more decision to take, they already took it when they each of them and together decided to trust the OA. Yes here this is potentially something that looks completely stupid and goofy for people who haven't seen the show, but this is a metaphor, this is about self sacrifice, this is about group coherence, protecting those who are dear to you - or not even - with your own life, to protect life. What baffles me is that the critics of that scene, people who have been through the show and see this and find it stupid, or disappointing, seem to think that this is supposed to be a magical 1-to-1 guide to survive a gunman attack in real life. When this is a lovesong, a tribute, to all past victims of such horrific attacks and those who gave their life to defend others from harm. How is it not obvious, especially after having gone through the show? These movements look so painful, so disembodied. The trauma of the kidnapped 5, the movements being passed over, the parallels... the OA as that messenger. Is there an angel around us helping us to self sacrifice ourselves, to make that ultimate sacrifice? I hope my words make sense to those who like me have been shattered by this scene.
