    I really like the idea of a year out being a time to change yourself in ways you can't normally do because you're too focused on preparing and playing. Just a good way of looking at it

    I had total ACL reconstruction and double meniscus surgery on the same knee in one shot. Worst pain of my life post op. 4 months later I still can’t bend my knee to heel/butt retraction. I got this as a work related injury. I gotta say it’s been really really rough. I went from just being phenomenal shape to the worst shape of my life. Now I’m suffering from extreme depression and I may need surgery for my hand because using the crutches gave me aggressive tendinitis. I think I’ll get thru this but I just feel so damn low mentally. Feels like a life time being In bed for 6 months now not being able to do nothing. I had to wait two extra months before my damn insurance would approve the ACL/meniscus surgery. For anyone doing this surgery. Prepare yourself, it won’t be easy and definitely be more positive than myself.

    I completely snapped my ACL when I was 24 by landing incorrectly from a jump. 7 months ago I had reconstructive ACL surgery and I’m currently on rehabilitation. I’m doing loads of cycling and tibialis raises. Only downside atm is I wake up with a stiff knee every morning and struggle to go downstairs with my bad knee. My knee is still swollen and I struggle to straighten it out. Other than that I’m doing ok

    • @ateetparihar5179
      @ateetparihar5179 4 года назад +10

      The key to proper acl rehab is alot of patience with sincere physiotherapy. I am at 5 months post op, I can walk properly, can jog, can perform one leg jumps. You need to understand that acl recovery varies from person to person. Some start running at 3 months post op some take upto a year. You just need to give yourself some time, that's it. Also even if i can do alot of things now, getting back to contact game is still very risky, I think I would wait until 9 months post op to start playing again.
      Impatient people tend to re-injure their acl again, so it's better to be patient and work hard.
      Remember, acl is the worst injury as the recovery period is the longest but believe me you will be a stronger person at the end, physically and psychologically, both. All the best ❤️

However, my unoperated leg definitely carried my jump. Also, I barely use my operated leg when landing for safety purposes since I haven't attended to any rehab sessions and I can't afford another surgery. If you can go to rehab asap, that will be wonderful! I hope that covid will be over, so that I can finally start rehab from a doctor. I wish the best for the both of us!
