Namaste Rishikesh interviews Surinder Singh

Surinder Singh was born and raised in Punjab, India and moved to Rishikesh in 1994 with his family. With fond memories of his mother's devotion to spirituality, and a need for some peace and relaxation, Surinder was in search of a balance to his successful engineering career. He began to practice yoga under the guidance of Swami Dharmananda Ji. Surinder wanted to further his yogic education and headed to Pune where he studied at Kaivalya Dham (Lonavala), a school certified by the International Yoga Alliance.
Finding his true calling in life, Surinder chose to give up his career as an engineer to start teaching full-time. Over the last twelve years, this inspirational instructor has developed his own teaching style that can be described as mainly Hatha with some Iyengar influences. His uncanny ability to accommodate students of all levels, from beginners to teachers, is what keeps his classes full but it is his powerfully melodic presence, and his heart-centered classes that keep his international students coming back year after year.
Surinder's goals are not only to develop an even deeper awareness of his own spirituality, but to share and inspire others to grow in their own yoga, meditation, and spiritual lives.
