      A old white lady with the seat far too close to the steering wheel and her hands placed firmly at the 11:59 & 12:01 position? Sounds about Florida to me.

    I've driven this car and I was beyond impressed. I drove the 6 speed manual and I was shocked at how great the shift feel was and how effortless the clutch action was. I don't have the highest expectations from GM manual transmissions but this was better than anything I've ever driven. It felt as good as my e92 M3 and had shorter throws. I still think I'd rather wait for the coupe though.

    It's just a traction issue. The V is easily capable of a mid-3 second 0-60 with drag slicks on it. With 551 lb-ft of torque, it's very hard to get a good 0-60 with it on street tires, because they just go up in smoke when you hit the throttle. The point is, it's not a lack of power that prevents it from getting mid 3s, it's actually too much power.

    they actually handle pretty good for a truck.
    especially the Extreme or the ones with the ZQ8 package. they are both lowered and have rear sway bars.
    I drive mine like I stole it and it's only stepped the rear end out. it would take a hell of a lot to roll one.

    Still think this is as far as style goes is about as revolutionary as the 1992 Seville STS and 1976 Seville in terms of Cadillac 4 doors. The performance is more like a 4 door Corvette that you can haul your friends around in.

    Not sure if it will hold true for too much longer. The new F10 BMW M5 is coming in a few monthes, and the Audi RS6 less than a year after that. We'll see how much longer the CTS-V keeps its crown.

  • @sebast007
    @sebast007 15 лет назад

    Well GM don't realy make there transmissions on most of there cars (just like most other automakers*). They are a part in the creation process of it, but the company that developed the manual transmission for the CTS-V is Tremek. I don't know about the auto trans, but it might be from Tremek too.
    I also can't wait for the CTS Coupe!

    @UFCextra MB doesn't need a 5 year warranty. Owned several MB's (no problems) and more GM products. GM's fall apart at exactly 18 months. Better get the extended warranty.

    @Cadillac18Nate ive watched a lot of tests and have yet to see a 3.9 0-60. Most are 4.1-4.2. I bet i can do it in very ideal conditions. 3.9 is just a good number for commercials though, lol.

  • @maximusextreme
    @maximusextreme 14 лет назад

    @UFCextra Last time I checked the warranty means the company WILL fix it when it breaks, not that the car WILL NOT break during that time period. My friend has an '04 CTS and it was in the shop with warranty work A LOT. I'm still skeptical when it comes to American cars. They were junk for a very long time until recently.

    I've heard the same...the video said it did it in 4.2 which was a full second faster. Don't think so. Now the 3.9 is get very close to a full second faster. Might have to invest in one in a year or two

    Plus the interior on the CTS-V is WAY better than the Dodge, not to mention in almost every other department....no comparison. The Challenger SRT-8 is an un-refined brute, the CTS-V is a Mega brute with class / refinement, and a "brain".

    @4MATICbenz Look up the next gen CTS line it gets a revamped more refined and lighter chassis.
    And the V version is slated to get the new Dual clutch tranny from the upcoming C7 along with a new version of the new ls engine GM is developing.
    So if a heavy CTSV with a traditional transmission can beat the Germans imagine the next generation which will be lighter with a more advanced transmission.

    And how much did a new E55 cost? Oh right, more than a CTS-V. Also the CTS-V only runs a 115 on this track. Most people get very low 12s to high 11s at 118-119 MPH in them.

  • @t6658
    @t6658 15 лет назад

    4 years huh grannyBangproduction. I heard, as part of GMs agreement on their funding, they are going to remove the V series, if that is true the CTS-V will become a collectors & really hard to get hold off, good luck

    That is the biggest line of bullshit about MB cars I ever heard. I'm a former Mercedes Benz tech and my bay was never empty. I did warranty repairs on 5-7 cars a day. They are far from reliable and JD Power supports my claim. They are ranked below average while Cadillac, Buick, Lincoln & Mercury are near the top. We won't even discuss maintenance costs or brake service. On AMG cars, a brake job would bankrupt most people in this post.

    Did you also miss the part where I said people are getting high 11s in stock CTS-Vs? Maybe the problem is that you're not paying enough attention to what I'm saying.
