Thanks bro. I'm taking this course at a technology center and this is the only way I can learn without falling asleep. Plotting and layouts are dreadfully boring to read about.
I like that you told where you are from...Smyrna GA. Makes things more personable sorta across the internet. Or maybe I'm just saying that because I'm from Marietta, GA.

Excellent one! here, In previous AutoCAD Architecture Version I can draw above the viewport on paper space, now I can't do that... is there any setting or command to draw on top of that viewport? like what I am doing before, after finished with my 3d, on paper space I need to put some label, materials and other. It shows only the portion of outside viewport.
[Nephew of Ida] I had the same problem. On the very upper top menu line is right of the layer line is a very tiny pulldown menu. Click "properties" and you have this like a tiny icon left of the pulldown button. Now click the frame of the viewport and then the tiny property icon. And you have the properties menu like in the video.
Yeah I'm using world coordinates system and the state plane is off on my cad file and I have the correct coordinates to move it to. But how can I move all of the viewports with it also. I normally just unlock it and move it. But that would be a pain considering there is several viewports. Someone on a forum was saying something about dash p. I'm not sure what that is or how to use it. I honestly wish the viewports would show up as objects in model space, so I can just move it with the cad file. Or I wish they had a way to leave the drawing and viewports where they are and just move the world coordinate system to a different location. If you have any ideas , I'd really appreciate any advice
Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for. Do you know if it is possible to show different dimensions per view port? I have a 3d model of a sofa and I need to show dimensions in plan, front and side elevation. Thanks again!
Do you know how to align multiple viewports on multiple layouts? If you have multi story and you want the floors to print in the exact same place in each layout?
You never mentioned how to get into the viewport, for example if you wanted to zoom window or move the position of my drawing inside the viewport. When i double click on the viewport it opens a black screen and i have to shut this screen down and click back on the layout tab to get back to the now open viewport. How do i simply open the viewport in the layout without getting this additional screen/view/window pop up?
Hi Kelly, When inside an AutoCAD file that has a viewport set up, if the viewport is locked and you double click (left click) inside the viewport, you effectively move your cursor and current working space inside the viewport. You can pan around the viewport but not zoom in or out because the viewport is locked. If the viewport is not locked, and your cursor is inside the viewport, zooming with the mouse wheel or zoom commands will effectively change your viewport scale to a non-uniform scale. If your intention is to work inside the viewport with the paperspace layout visible for context purposes, you normally lock the viewport first before double clicking inside the viewport to make it active. If your intention is to work in Model space without the paperspace context, then just click on the Model tab in the lower left corner of your screen to get back to Model Space to work independent of the Paperspace layout.
Hey JM Designs, The scale list denotes what the viewport scale is to be displaying data at. For example, if you want to see the floor plan at 1/4" = 1'-0" then set the viewport to this scale. This allows for someone who has a ruler or scale to measure the printed sheet at 1/4" = 1'-0"
Hi Bro How can i edit or copy from viewports layer to 2Dmodel in 2014LT ? I have try to copy form viewports to another model layout but can not past. Please help. Thanks
Hey Andrew. Yes of course we offer training courses at our Smyrna, GA office. You can visit: reproproducts.com/training.asp for more information. Or if you would like, you can simply send me a message with your information and request, and someone will contact you shortly. Thanks!
The video must be good since I see a lot of positive feedback, but I could not follow the steps in the video because the subscription banner keeps blocking the view of the commands so it didn't work for me
Hey Flavio, The banner has been removed, also those banners have the ability to [x] out of them if they are blocking the content in the future. Try the video again. I am sure it will be very helpful. Thanks for watching.
@Henry Chow NP make sure to subscribe to our channel to get an update when we release new videos. Also, Revit will come in handy. The earlier you learn to use it, the better you will become.
I have problems with how to view or freeze only the some layer on layout to prepare it for plotting. I mean how can i print only the layer for roof on roof layout or print the ceiling on ceiling layout. Thanks
Hi Simaa You can freeze/thaw/turn on/off any layer within each viewport independently of each viewport for printing. Procedure: 1. Create the viewports you need 2. Set their scale and annotation scale 3. Lock the viewports 4. Double click into one of the viewports 5. Set the layers up the way you want while your mouse is inside that particular viewport 6. When finished, double click into the other viewport and do the same thing 7. Print

Not sure if i missed it in the video, but you may have forgotten to tell people to double click inside the vport to zoom in and out.
Thanks Nerve JJ! We appreciate any comments and suggestions on our videos.

Good job. Question for you: Right click does not bring me to Properties. Tried everything I can think of. What am I doing wrong?

what scale does the ( standard scale list ) equate to for example does 5.1 = 1;200 on a ruler?
