Great vid, as always Salty. I’m going to toot my own horn - other instant reaction vids came out saying that Horns were done and I said: they have extra points. On the flip side I totally missed that SBG has such a deep bench with Bladeborn that they can ignore the nerfs they got. That’s too bad - it’s time for SBG players to have to think.
That's a good point. I think The Harvester and The Champion and the Petitioner with Sword are so points efficient that you don't care, but it probably disqualified the ones on the boarder, like Prince of Dust and Petitioner w Shield.
Do you think we'll get a tome of champions this year or revised compendium after 4.0 AoS? With all this new data plus all the new models coming out they're going to have to address this surely? Not to mention the narrative possibilities that will open up.
Lovely FAQ and lovely take on just everything. Warcry is much better off now! The only thing I reeeaaaly dislike is that they, probably unintentionally, made Bladeborn so much more important in the competative meta. They really should not be because as you said they can be hard to find - and its just hard to keep track of all the different stats and abilities for hordes of unique fighters. Bladeborn needs to be repointed in the next FAQ and rethought for next edition. Probably fewer unique abilities and more standardized profiles for the chaffy ones.
You got some really good ideas for lists. But why take sepuctral guard in ossiarch? You won't waste your triple on a extra move for those weak fighters because of the extra move on the flyer. Also the petioner with sowrd and shield costs the same as bonereaper chaff and is worse. Is there something i don't see or why do you choose them?
About the list of Horns with Vexmor, why no use blessing and add one shatterer more? or its overkill 10 bodys? agree with +1A in Vex is too sexy but a shatterer is more activations
Seems like Kruleboyz is a good starting point if one likes the mini style. Pretty much a fire sale on them on the resale market so one can get a deep bench for the price of a Warcry warband. Seems more to do with how they play in AoS 3rd and being the unwanted side of the Domination box they seem solid in Warcry...
thanks for the vid! re: horns w/varanguard tried this list in the last comp league as the corner deployments made me not want a M4 titan. It was great for the mission pack, but I do agree with you, very dice hungry. I was often conflicted between the triple 5-6 to flamehurl or keep the double 5-6 to relentless killers. I'm looking forward to trying vexmore in horns in future.
Yeah Myrm was just so low-maintenance for them. Vex should be interesting. I wonder if there's anything in the 200-225 range that makes you want to add a shatterer and then have a smaller big guy?
@@thesaltyseagames I'm not sure there is much in that range I find convincing enough to swap and pair up with a shatterer. Bloodkine for 235 or 215 looks decent and ready for blessings. If I could find a couple midrange-ish heroes for the cost of a vexmore and friend maybe, depending on abilities. Would love to find something else to pair with a great bray or slaughterpriest. good utility abilities without the pressure to use it everytime.
What spreadsheets don't show is that Sepulchre Guard can't be revived, & can't use Shambling Horde. I don't think Sepulchre Guard is actually a contender in anything, half of Sepulchre Warden's abilities aren't usable if you ally him with his own team.
They are points efficient. That's it. No tricks. No extra move, no ressurect. Well technically they have an extrw move on a triple, but it's not good at all. Totally with you on this one
As one of apparently very few people playing Stoneguard (they're possibly my favorite unit in all of AoS, so I even tried to make them work in 1st ed. Warcry (they did not)), maybe I can give a tip or two on the faction. 1. For painting Lumineth, probably the best advice I could offer is to go with metallic or otherwise bright armor that doesn't demand contrasting trim. I made the mistake with my original color scheme of not doing this. Painting the trim is lousy; it takes me as long to do the trim as the rest of the model, and you invariably make a mistake and have to redo that spot on the armor. I switched to a variation on the Ymetrica Alternate scheme (you can look it up), but anything where you just paint the armor, wash/shade/thinned-contrast it, and then edge highlight makes it a comparative breeze. 2. How much does it annoy me that Calthia is the same points cost as the new Pureflood Seneschal, except with far better stats and better abilities? Let's not get into it. 3. Speaking of them, I do think that, despite the increase to 135 making list-building a little more painful, Kixi-Taka is still a viable budget alternative, for a similar, reliable ability but no contribution to the fight. Haven't had a lot of games with new lists, though. 4. When the enemy has one big guy and you don't (as Lumineth), I find handling it usually involves one of three methods: a) Avoid it. Run fast and kill the scrubs on the other side of the board. b) Hope for dense terrain and make use of your 32mm bases. (This option could also be called 'Lose.') c) Auric Flamekeeper. If I'm in position (always the trick with Lumineth) his reaction means I can try to trade one Warden for 2-3 of the opponent's chaff for two or three rounds and ideally come out ahead. Sometimes I can kill the thing, but that's usually only because of a mistake by the opponent; don't plan around it. 5. I'd say the "trap" with listbuilding for Lumineth is trying to take an adaptable faction and producing an all-comers list, but in my experience (depending on the pack) you're better off covering Objective and Treasure VPs, and while not out-and-out punting on Kill missions, expecting to play defense the whole time and throwing your lot to the luck of the matchup/dice. Which is all to say that my lists often look similar to the one you've suggested, though slightly different hero roster and sometimes a dedicated treasure runner.
@@jeskokrumeich9859 if you start with 5 chainrasps, a banshee, and a Knight of Shrouds (either flavor) you can finish off with whatever your favorite models are and have a functional warband.

Lets go hes rambling about spreadsheets

Always look forward to your content brother. Thanks
I appreciate that
The thing with sbgl Guards whu warband is that they are not minions therefore can't be resurected and can't use speed boost next to the hero

I'm curious as to what the combo is for the Gruntaboss. It says it's a 10" range using a double - I think I'm not seeing an obvious synergy here.

How is Nighthaunt in the new meta? The triple that opened up to the whole faction is great for damage!
Ione, Bault and Vlash are all the same profiles, they have different weapon types but as far as I know that is just flavor text.
