the "Madonna" you hear in the song it's not a reference to the singer Madonna. "Madonna" in Italian originally refers to the Virgin Mary but is also used colloquially as an exclamation expressing surprise or frustration. We use that word a lot in italian :)

Annalisa ha partecipato ad un talent show nel 2011 classificandosi seconda. Negli anni ha uscito pezzi stupendi, ma non è stata apprezzata abbastanza. Solo negli ultimi 2 anni finalmente ha avuto ciò che ha sempre meritato. Finalmente ha avuto la sua rivincita.
Chi è fan avrebbe voluto vederla all'Eurovision, ma sfortunatamente non ha vinto Sanremo.

Here in in Italy we're listening a lot of kind of italian reggaeton in the last years and singers who makes summer songs trying to become popular quickly but Annalisa is just a singer who follow her style I would say!
She also hosted a tv show here in Italy for a while about one of the most important scintific research center in the world located in Switzerland as she's graduate in physics.
I think Annalisa is a very smart woman and talented, studying physics and writing songs becoming a popular singer it's not for all!

Hi thanks for the reaction, Hey garcon is a French expression that is also widely used in Italy on an ironic level, usually, the same goes for mon amour, I am a 46 year old man passionate about rock who grew up listening to American and English groups and dreaming one day to see Italian music become international too, thanks to Maneskin this has happened, indeed it has gone beyond all every expectations, I am pleased that this phenomenon is also drawing the attention of foreigners to other Italian pop singers such as "the kolors ", "Marco Mengoni", "Elodie" (Annalisa's friend-rival) "Mahmood" and indeed "Annalisa" (all discovered and brought to success by the two Italian musical talents "Amici" and Måneskin). In fact, I have seen many other reactions from foreigners on Italian music. She's major for the Italian music industry.. she's been active for almost 12 years now.
