- This is a really good quality monitor that I picked up at a thrift store near my house for $20. I would highly recommend this monitor for anyone that who is in to high quality computing. @@hman6159 Yea for $20 it's ok but the monitor is a TN panel and looks so dull compared to an IPS. I upgraded to a 1440p 165hz IPS. Night and day difference.
I just got this monitor and i must say it is indeed impressive! I got mine for a little bit more, $70 but that was with a just as old HP laptop dock, a brand new unpackaged hp keyboard and a laptop charger that was used for the HP Laptop dock. This monitor havent been used at all! The previous owner got it from work, plugged it in to his laptop and used it for only 34 hours! Basicly a brand new monitor!
I just bought one used for the equivalent of 50 bucks, its great and the support for it is diffrent then the one in the video it's even better :)
Just got the same monitor today for a steal price. Love it so far, the colour is vibrant, bright enough and very versatile
I got one of these dual monitor versions, for a teleperformance job, starting tomorrow, as embarrassing as it is to admit, this is the first desktop I've set up, kinda freaking out, I pray this video helps. God bless.
Thanks for this detailed review! I could really use a second monitor and didn't need anything crazy. Saw the 19" version on ebay for $35 (shipping included) and was wondering how it was. The fact that it has a height adjustment, tilt, and can even put it into portrait mode is amazing at this price. Definitely sold after this video.
I'm about to buy 4 of these for 50 euro's. I already have some other HP models which I love (4 of them). Only downside: if all turned on they use 315 watts collectively. Right now there is a energy crisis here in Europe. These will use 140 watts collectively. This will save me around 35 euro's a month on energy costs. The dynamic dimming feature will be useful, my other screens don't have that feature.

Just picked one of these up at SC State Surplus. May or may not work because they had rain get into the building overnight. It was one of the ones that got slightly wet. I just hope someone hadn't tried plugging it in before I got to it. Need to take it apart and let it dry for a couple of days. Only paid $10 for it and another monitor I was able to test. Totally worth the five dollar gamble.

@@johno6339 Idk on xbox, but on PC you can increase Digital vibrance in nVidia/AMD control panel for more vibrant colors

I am having trouble hooking up the HP Compaq LA2205wg monitor to a laptop. I bought the Thin Micro HDMI Cable and I also bought the Display Port to HDMI Adapter.
I have everything connected, but the monitor is not showing the same screen as the laptop. Any suggestions?
I recently bought this computer...I had a windows 7 w/of course Microsoft word. I'm 72 yrs of age and it's been a struggle learning EVERYTHING. My biggest problem is my bottom tool bar can't been seen, where do I click where I can fix it. Also LOL...Another I want to enlarge my bookmark bar (there so small) can't enlarge it with the zoom scale! I have no one to help me. I thought zoom would help. Need help God Bless
I haven't found anything good in the thrift shops in my local area lately either. Mainly a bunch of old Xbox controllers, some sports games, and CRT TVs. I might venture out to Hampton sometime soon to see what kind of trouble I can get myself into at the Goodwill computer shop near the Coliseum.

our thrift stores are more terrible the best thing you can get is a 5 year old printer or a typewriter from 1970. I hit the jackpot 3 times a year at least at thrift stores.
its either that or you go to a second-hand store and get charged top dollar for second-hand goods which is basically how much it costed when the item came out.

I have a question for you since this is the first video I've found on this monitor. I was given one yesterday but no tower with it. What type of things could I connect to it for "tv" purposes. The USB type things like my Roku box aren't the same usb ports or size. Thanks in advance!
Have one on the way refurbished but bought too quickly not realizing it only has a VGA cable included. OH well, it is replacing a Dell 19#. I had a great 27" that got ruined when my young cat knocked over and put a hole in the screen. Bummer. $59.99 so not going to break me.

Sir, I have almost the same monitor, mine its HP Compaq LA2405wg.... On the back of the display there is 4 different ways to conect this device, do you think if I conect a Desktop on the VGA entrance and a Laptop on the DVI conector i could switch between one and another without having a hardswitch device?. thanks

at 4:43 how do you go into that information menu? I've been going online to get a second monitor second hand and I've seen this monitor a few times now and it really is one I like a lot. Of course a lot of the sellers claim theirs hasn't been used a lot or is as good as new. So the checking of the light hours is really useful to double check. Also, at what amount can you say it really has been used a lot? Thank you, this video was very helpful.

does it stretch 16:9 resolutions? If you set the resolution to 1600x900 does it stretch the image up and down ?

This model has been discontinued. You can find them used on eBay for around $80.

You need to go into the display settings in your computer and change the resolution.

It should work just fine, however, I'm not sure about the mounting hardware. I would check with the manufacturer to find out what brackets you might need.
I only have the plate of the barebone (which is put on the VESA support) but not be if thereupon is sufficient, or I'll have to plan where most put it haha greetings

i got this monitor for 10$. the screen is very dim if i change the bri to 100 still dim. so dim that i hardly see anything. does that means it faulty
Sounds like a issue with the LCD backlight, which maybe an easy or not easy fix.
Maybe it's the dynamic contrast ratio

Does this support HDMI?
No, VGA and DVI Only. You can get a converter cable from Amazon that goes from DVI to HDMI but you won't get sound threw the cable, just video. Here is an example.

Yes it works with any Operating System (as long as you have a DVI or VGA port on your computer).
What kind of computer are you running bud?
Dell Vostro 400 Core 2 Quad 6600, 4GB Nvidia SLI Ram,1.0 TB Hard Drive, and a Geforce GT 640. It is not a powerhouse, but it suits my needs just fine.

How do games run on that monitor ?
It depends on the game. I believe this monitor has a 5ms response time, which is not bad for most games. However, it you are really into fast action games. First person shooters like Battlefield and Call of Duty, you would do better with a monitor that has 2ms response time or less. That way you won't have to deal with ghosting, especially in dark places.
I have a Laptop and i think m Monitor also has a 5ms Response and it works just fine for bf or cod

It’s 60, but I believe you can overclock it a little higher. I don’t know though.
