This is useful as the light triggers dont work as my screen maximum brightness is physically too dim for me to see any difference with my eyes closed.

and to those wondering why this is a thing, for me i find this useful because im on youtube dark mode and the blank space helps with not making my screen so bright (brightness makes it harder for me to sleep) Usually the white text from other comments, video recommendations, and description have visuals too bright for me and i get distracted by them easily. i find it super convenient to have my comments section open, left on this blank space so that i can sleep easier:)
