Totally Tubular Dude! I am actually in the process today of 3D printing a Safety Cover for my Orian KD94 Tubular Key machine. Remember you were looking for the Ilco CU94 cutter for me? My current cutter seems OK, but would love a backup. #LockBoss

Great information. I remember almost taking out a mortgage to get my 1st Herty Gerty 30 years ago, and paid for it within 3 months, then made enough to get a Scottsman. A real upgrade from the A1 hand cutter. Now I haven't cut a 137 key in probably 5 years now, or I'd look at the kit for my Blitz... Buy the best with what you have and make the money to upgrade when you can. Definitely true on the 137B vs the 137S. Cutters last easily 4 times longer on the brass blank. Thanks for the information! Still learning how to #Lockboss!

The tubular key are l over the place. I learned about tubular key working on the console of my past job. Tubular keys were used on the fire panel and on the elevator panels. That was intresting and useful information for the purchase of tubular keys. When I first learned about tubular key I was told they were barrel keys now I know there not. Thank you for that information would have enjoyed seeing you cutting a tubular key. And the type of cutters used.

I try to only offer the brass ones because the steel blanks wears out the cutter quicker on my A1 Herty Gerty. Those “miniature” tubular locks/ keys are the ones I struggle finding stuff to work with. I usually just swap them out anymore. Thanks for sharing #lockboss

The good joke at the beginning and great video. One thing that people and manufacturers forget is that tubular locks are not high-security locks. Sometimes you can use a tubular lock pick to open the lock as fast as the key. I personally would not use a tubular lock on any machine like a vending machine, biker locks, etc. For a vending machine, I would use some that are a Medeco biaxial or Abloy Protec 2. #LockBoss

The brass keys are definitely easier on the locksmith, but the steel keys I think are way better for the customer. I have seen so many brass keys wear out over time and end up causing problems for the customer. I go with steel whenever I can. #lockboss

You are 100% correct oh, a little something I learned back in the sixties!
Steel is the only way to go. Once cut! the brass wears out five times quicker than the steel. Besides with the mixed metals now brass just ain't what it used to be!

I have run across several tubular locks which do not have the internal nib, particularly on cash safes. I use the Southord Pick/Decoder and removed the small rollpin inside the barrell to work with these types of tubular locks. Blue Dog carries several types of the tubular key blanks without the internal nib. Great video, PJ! #AccessLockKeyLLC #HaulinBrass #Lockboss

I think you need to talk about all the different ways they can be cut or duplicated. Old A1 Hurdy Gurdy is my favorite but can also be code cut on a 1200 blitz or some of the newer high security machines. But quick duplicating on a Scotsman key machine is so simple. I have yet to use my large or small tubular blanks. But keep them in stock. #lockboss.

URGENT! I manage a storage facility and when we have to "overlock" a unit we have a master tubular key that allows us to turn the inside of the lock to the point where the tenants key no longer fits. Once they pay their bill we simply go turn it back to where it is supposed to be and they have access again. I have a lock with a tubular key stuck in it. It went in just fine and let me turn it one click just fine but then got stuck! It won't finish it's turn or go back. Since it isn't lined up, I can't get my key out. I have tried beating it with a hammer, WD-40, and brute force to twist it. NOTHING is working. Do you have any advice? PLEASE HELP!!
