Explore the exciting developments of a permaculture project in a small village in Hungary (pdc.permacultu..., as Geoff revisits its third year of growth. This project showcases a thriving food forest, diverse animal husbandry, innovative infrastructure, and a vibrant garden bursting with produce.
Key Takeaways:
- The Hungary project has expanded from small-scale beginnings into a diverse, self-sustaining system, reflecting the natural acceleration of well-designed permaculture sites.
- With a flourishing food forest, various poultry, cattle, and innovative gardening techniques, the project is an excellent example of temperate climate permaculture in action.
- The community repurposes materials, integrates traditional practices, and uses a range of machinery, demonstrating practical and adaptive design in permaculture.
- Hungary’s continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters, necessitates thoughtful design, including seasonal gardens, polytunnels, and strategic composting.
- Surplus organic material is utilized for compost, insulation, and building, turning waste into valuable resources that fuel the ecosystem’s growth.

Interesting project! Hungary is a great country with amazing people.
Thank you, Geoffrey, for sharing your adventures, NC USA 🇺🇸
looks great
I would like to see a nice patch of peppers as Hungary is knows for 😊
Very nice to see a european project. Rare to see, it will be very interesting if you review it again after a few years.
I love the kitchen garden. I have always wondered how a more permaculture oriented home garden could look and that is actually very inspiring. But since many crops are annuals I suppose it also comes with quite a lot of upkeep
I like grocery row garden systems by DavidTheGood on RUclips. Mix of permaculture with room for annuals
very interesting, as we live in Taganrog on flat site with similar temperate-continental climate and strong winds, especially in the autumn and spring, And summer is very dry and hot (till +42 deg of Celsius), while autumn and spring can be too wet. Winters can be warm and without snow at all(till -10), and can be too snowy cold, -30deg of Celsius with wind in extreme days. Sometime we have ice rain, when all outdoor surfaces covered by cork of ice. So very hard to plan some project really permanent and edible. Would be good if Geoff review such conditions.
💚
These videos are interesting, educational and inspiring. A wonderful combination.
Thanks Jeoff for everything that u share !!!
I live in extreme área to ! But dry in winter !
Amazing work, and seeing the polytunnel after just 5 months looking that gorgeous
Nekem ég a pofám. Erről fognak most megítélni minket.
Nálam is.
Nálam is rendezettebb azért.
Én szívesen megnézném, szerintem mások is.
Tehát én is átállok erre a politikára. Aztán majd egyszer csinosítunk.
imagine if they used geothermal at the same time
Beautiful!
👏👏👏
Thank you Geoff!
Whereabouts in Hungary are you ?
Thank you, for sharing this huge productive garden. Am so jealous with the many varieties of tomatoes🙏🏼♥️🌺🌴
Gratitude geofrei
Thank you.✌🏾
this is amazing
Is it possible to develop a permaculture research institute in India similar to the permaculture research institute in Australia? Atleast any permaculture branch of study in India and other countries where the demand is high for permaculture philosophy as said by Bill Mollison. I am looking forward to your reply Sir.
See hummingbird project
Thanks!
Amazing!
💗💞💖
I think permaculture will be really important for Hungary and nearby countries in the coming decades, as current climate predictions are showing a drying trend for that part of Europe, and so the rainfed row crops typical of the region are going to be increasingly difficult to sustain. Mass irrigation with fossil water is of course a dead end, so permaculture will be the way to go.
Thank you for the update, Geoff! It's lovely to see you at the Terény project. Did you have a chance to make some footage of the outer zones? I'd love to see how the grazing systems and ponds have matured. I hope to catch you there next year!
Thank you so much for showing us, Geoff. It's so inspiring.🇿🇦💚
Geoff, I've been waiting for this video ever since you first mention this Hungarian project. Show us what else is there.
This project looks amazing. Is there a way to contact them? I would like to ask if they host volenteers. I would love to learn!
I live in the MidAtlantic area of the US...this place is closest to what I'm working towards.
It was a joy to see the tiny snippet of Gwendolyn. As a women it’s fine to see all the wonderful work of the masculine but it’s short on balance. Hope to see more of her and other feminine input for balance
Hungary, the most western Nation on earth. Perfect for permaculture.
Most western?
@wes4192 Yes, visit London, then Hungary.
@@davidsmith9189 aah. Got it. It’s true
How much longer are you in Hungary Geoff? I'd love to come visit.
Very good to see examples in our climate region
No one said it yet ? They are not going hungry in Hungary !
Salam Geoff...Good stuff!!!
Woaw very nice !
Superb Geoff!
Amazing 😍
👍
Two cool people from stoke on trent, slash from guns N roses and Geoff lawton.
Nice to see cooler climate food forest,Australia is nice but it's permaculture porn it what you can grow.
That's a lot of tomato sauce. 👍
Watching closely from nearby, cheers from Romania, similar climate, I hope one day I can shake your hand. Back to my garden, mulch, mulch, mulch🍄🟫🍄🟫🍄🟫
