- The gift of the West Rim Trail for me was that I got to hike it with
my youngest son, Josh. The trail runs 30 miles along the rim of
the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania in Tioga State Forest, Tioga
County, PA. There are multiple views of the Pine Creek Gorge as
the trail clings along the rim at times...deep forest at other times.
Though it ocassionally drops into small hollows, the trail does not
have any serious elevation changes. This was a great backpacking
trip for my son though it wasn't his first. Thanks for viewing my
trip on the West Rim Trail and I hope you have an opportunity to
view more vids...maybe even subscribe. Phil. 4:13
Hi again Gregg. Watching and listening once more. Classic and thanks. Hope all is well and God Bless. John & boys.
Thanks for checking in John (and the boys). I just did 103 miles on the southern section of the Tuscarora Trail where I realized I'm hiking myself "out". Running out of new trails too. I'm heading back to Colorado to do another portion of the Colorado Trail later this summer...that is the new "thing". My posts will be fewer and farther between soon. Nice to hear from you again!
@@sleepyheadoutdoors9346 Greg, watch out for them grizz! Lived in Colorado Springs for near ten years many moons ago. I have a 32' tow behind w/ a 12' x 3' slide now on a friends farm near Coburn Pa. Farthest it will ever be towed is 8 miles to Poe Valley. Not saying that the days of pitching pup tents are over though I'll be 65 June 23. I really like the galley in this one though. Oven was never used yet it has now. Cheese enchiladas from scratch. Off to check out the bluebearies for PIE! Be well and stay in touch, God Bless, John.
That looks like it was a good trip. Well done Dad. Can't wait to take my youngest son Sawyer on same hike in late May 2020.
Thanks John...I hope you both have as great a time as we did. Thanks for writing...hope you get to do many more hikes with your son!
Thank you. Shooting for Junes' full moon mid trail. Hope the night is clear.
Thanks for subscribing....hopefully...I'll either be on the Susquehannock Trail or the Donut Hole Trail in June!
@@sleepyheadoutdoors9346 Howdy Greg, Hittin' the Twin Sisters Trail tomorrow around 3 pm. Backpacking in a Meade F=1000 mirror lens. New Moon. Target Orion Nebubula and M33 God Bless.
Sorry John...haven't been on my channel much...went to Canaan Valley and Blackwater Falls the past few days. Not sure where the Twin Sisters Trail is...help? Hope you had a great time...God Bless you also!
Greg! How are you? We did the trail that year S-N then got in our canoes and white watered back to the truck at Blackwell. Waiting for another snazzy tune. Be good to hear back. John & Sons.
Getting to do that trip with your sons has to be a highlight of that year. Wish I could have had that opportunity. Thanks for commenting John. I will be posting again in late March...probably with the same tunes (sorry). I have to use originals due to copyright infringements. Happy Trails my friend!
@@sleepyheadoutdoors9346 A memory that will last a lifetime is what that is. Looking forward to more. May the meadows of blueberriers always be fruitfull for us all.

And the music. Listen. Is that a Korg?
Wow...you are good...really good. It was a Korg DSS-1 from 1987. Just had to toss it recently...sad!
Thanks Greg. My Wife of 22 years says I can't hear anymore at 61. I think I'm doing well in this way.
Sorry to hear. Had to bag a tascam some time back. Really dig this sound track. Ya thems be orbs me thinks. God Bless.
Had a Tascam 4 Track recorder to lay the tune down. Orbs it is then! God Bless you also!
Very good sound.
Hey Greg, All my boys and I will be at Poe Valley State Park in a few weeks for a few days. If your not busy pack a picinikanick basket and join us. Got some pickled brussel sprouts.
Love the invite...I will be in Colorado in a few weeks doing the last portion of the Colorado Trail and the Blue Lakes Trail. No Brussel Sprouts. Retiring after next school year....hope to do a MId-State Trail thru-hike afterwards. I kayaked at Poe Valley and have been to the park and Poe Paddy a number of times...enjoy!
