Strolling by and saw this video about a 200a, which is my favorite Coleman lantern, so here I am. I have a Coleman 200a which I bought new back in 1978. It's been through a car wreck and had its globe replaced and vent straightened out on a vise and hammer. Got it back in shape but missing a lot of paint. So far, have restored 10 lanterns and 3 stoves. For leather cups Coleman recommends Neats Foot oil which I use for all my Coleman PGA's. On lanterns that have been setting I usually poke something through the air tube to ensure no cobwebs or critters. Cheers from eastern TN
Still working my way threw ur videos this was a fun one..I have a question..you were pumping ur dads n said pump valve isn't holding what's a give away that that's a problem ??
If you pay attention at that part you will see that after I pump it when I hold my finger over the hole in the end of the pump rod, it pushes back out on its own. That is the air from the fount escaping and pushing the pump plunger back out. That is a telltale sign that your check valve is bad. Thanks for watching!

This is a lantern from the year I was born. Cool.
Pretty cool to have your grandpa’s lanterns. And the story and photos to go with them. 😊
You should be getting some commission from Coleman, showcasing these old lanterns that still work. Thanks for sharing.
Crazy glue works on globes unbelievable!
If only Coleman lanterns could speak!
