I feel like the mod could be 10x scarier and better if like instead of dispawning, the wendigo would just run far away when low on health or if he can't reach target, and making him break doors and glass or break shield to make it a real hardcore wendigo

The only problem is that the wendigo is programmed to be so aggressive. It would've been more effective if he got progressively threatening or have some aggression system. At first he would stalk you and observe your moves, be more active at night and fleeing when you spot him. After building up agression he would try to attack you couple of times. If you just run from him, next time he spawns he would try to attack you straight away and if you do a lot of damage to him and he flees to change his strategy and try to ambush you next time. Something like that would be first of all fair and second more scary
Neat idea, set him up less like an angry monster and more like the hunter Wendigo are told to be in legends, watching you around trees, luring you in with noises, setting traps even.. but not rushing you like a dweller.
I like how the wendigo’s design has a twisted mouth that makes up the full head. It makes it have a bit more of a human silhouette that a wendigo would have in proper folklore.
How the frick do you think having a mouth the size of your head is human-like
fun fact the original wendigo myth is from natice american folklore and its a creature a human would turn into when they commited cannibalism, and it looked more like a human than a deer monster

I am currently in the process of making my own mod which adds a Wendigo into Minecraft. Didn't see these videos before I started, but mine will be different and will come out soon :)
Edit: it is out as Whispers of the Wendigo on Curse forge
@@Minigun_-nj1tf The design will be more traditional with an actual deer skull, and it will follow Folklore and the abilities it was said to have
@MSSHDMUSIC if it follows folk lore, maybe add a gun with silver bullets, seeing how that can weaken it. or just use the normal bow and arrow.
@@drago_wouldwin I have seen the idea of silver bullets being able to kill the player, but I think that would just break the idea of it being much more powerful and capable than the player and it having no real weakness,which would make it less scary, but that could be considered for a future update :D

Just checked it out and it looks sick. Could you make it 1.20.1+ tho? That's the version I play on, and I prefer not to switch versions, because it's a whole process to change which version of forge, optifine, and shaders that I'm using.
I like seeing monsters that have some type of weakness but is scarce for the player to use or find. In amnesia the bunker for example, you can find bullets for your revolver that will damage the monster and make it flee briefly, or flares to distract it, grenades, and Molotovs to restrict its movement, but it’s still capable of digging through holes to reach you, and breaking down doors, so you’re always vulnerable from at least one direction. Maybe if some Minecraft dwellers could be repelled distracted of briefly scared away by use of limited resources, and was more capable of breaking your defenses it could make for more dynamic and intense encounters.

This mod would totally be scarier if he can break common blocks like doors, wooden constructions, windows, etc. The blocks he cant break would be like stone, so you have to smelt cobble to protect yourself making it substantially harder to survive. I also love the idea that he just runs away when he is on low health.
Hey man, love your series, I have a suggestion, you see the night dweller modpack isn't scary when the monster can't climb walls nor break dirt, wood or even glass. It would also be lovely to add fake despawning, so the player is scared at all times. Keep up the good work ❤

The wendigo should definitely not despawn after a while attacking the player it can let the player completely cheese the battle, it should do the following.
1. Run away if the battle has lasted for 2 minutes
2. Run away when low
3. Run away at the sound of explosions
Also they need to make it actually look like a wendigo and not some flesh beast

Wendigo legends say the beast can mimic human or animal voices to lure targets. If they added little tidbit to a wendigo mod, they could connect to the player's microphone and take snippets from their audio to trick players. They could even program it to only take audio files from a specific list of words and noises to make sure people can't just turn it into something funny. Like in Phasmaphobia, where saying certain things triggers the ghost into a hunt, saying certain things, or screaming triggers the code to record the audio and save it to a file, which the mob can then use later. And maybe give it access to different common peaceful mob audio files so that a hungry player looking for food might stumble on it? That would be so freaking scary.

You should make the dwellers capable of breaking glass. They're not nearly as scary when you can just hide behind a glass window and look at them until they despawn.
