KP’s best game in a minute-that sequence in the 3rd when he swatted Zion twice was pure porn. Other than his shooting from deep, he was fantastic in all facets Solid win, all the starters in double figs & the defense really stepped it up in the second half. Pels shot almost 50% in first half, barely 30% in 3rd & 4th. Not thrilled with their pace i.e. trying to run out the clock with 4+ minutes left-we went away from that I thought🤷🏻♂️ Thanks John☘️🔒
The opening of the third quarter was a revelation to see. Big ups to JB for taking on Zion and playing through some hard slips and hits. Jaylen Brown has been once again an amazing player for the Celtics. I really enjoyed Tatums lob to Hiloday. KPs defense was awesome. Horford looked great. White was great. They really look ready..,stay healthy and rest up it’s going to be the toughest challenge of their lives.
Hesitant to even sat things like “get right” or “bounce back” win cuz it’s not like they’ve been playing to win as the top priority last few games - but tonight it seemed like they did, and it was good to see them absolutely dominate a quarter to flex their mettle and bring it home
People really overreacting to those losses vs Hawks. We clinched!! If Denver did the same thing the media would say “looks like they’re slowing down before the playoffs”. I just hate how Boston has to be perfect but other teams don’t. Some of them saying “Celtics are not contenders” or “Celtics are frauds and delusional “ why because we blew 2 games that changed absolutely nothing?! 😂😂 casual fans are the worst. Every loss they just panic. If you played sports at a high level you know that it’s just not your night sometimes. Denver lost 2 in a row, not a peep lol. Lost 3 times to Rockets, nothing lol. It’s crazy how teams like the Heat went on 7 games losing streak and the media hardly said anything. Bucks got blasted by 35 by both Kings and Warriors and nothing from the media. The min the Celtics lose any game it’s like the end of the world. Apparently Celtics are the only team that have to be perfect all year.
I watched that 1Q and smiled because I knew 2 things. 1, Playoffs secured so the lose would mean nothing. 2, Celts have never really had to fight their way back in matches and this is an ideal scenario for when matches don't start the way they like. The most satisfying win of the season
JB won this game by clamping up Zion. KP did good too, loved how he was demanding the ball when he had a smaller guard on him. I wish they would just catch and shoot more with KP. More mid range, he’s automatic from the mid range and can shoot right over 90% of the league. Same way he torched us last season when he was on Wizards. Just caught it and put up a shot before defense reacted.
JB really did well on Zion-especially considering he’s a bit banged up. I liked his comments postgame about how he took it as a challenge. He’s one guy who has been truly focused on improving his game. Talk is cheap.

The first ended up with Sam’s only 3 but the next play, almost the same look, KP missed the shot but Pritchard got the OR and scored. 8 more, to the team’s health and just preparing for the playoffs. 👍🏽
Craziest stst to me was when they said that 91% of Zions field goal attempts have come with 8 feet of the basket. I know he has been hurt but expand your game man, you are only gonna be able to rely on athletism and strength for so long.

For me, it’s comments like this that are most frustrating tbh. Joe hasn’t been dishonest, there is just a group of people that seem to care more about defending their preconceived notions on Joe than accepting that he’s masterfully balancing player/team development with winning. It’s not hard to understand - did they try to win all those games? Obviously. They just prioritized the growth part more against atlanta and the winning part more against pelicans. Pelicans was simply “okay we’ve done some tinkering and experimenting, let’s get back to what we do”… it’s not complicated, just watch the game vs stroking ego.
