So I'm interested. Did Chatgpt actually do better than this? Im from Germany so I can't use bard either way but it would be interesting to know when it maybe finally gets here.
From what I've heard I don't think ChatGPT is much different. They don't really understand the context or what they are doing. In the case of Bard's second attempt at the arcade button code it appears to have taken code from Arduino C++ and MicroPython and put them together. So whilst the syntax looked like MicroPython the code just wouldn't work. No doubt they will get better at finding code snippets and putting them together. I expect it will be able to write fully working small programs, but I don't think it's going to be able to replace a good human programmer for a long time and even then will need someone to be able to explain the problem to the bot in a way that it can interpret it.
