Yeah, couldn’t agree more. For most of the war, the Chinese used whatever they could get their hands on. It’s quite interesting to see all the different equipment and weapons that they had. Thanks for watching!
Glad you enjoyed! There’s really not a lot of information available in English on these planes in China. That’s part of the reason I wanted to make this video haha. Thanks for watching!
Great video as always man! Love the research especially when you when into the personal stories of the pilots, I always find that really interesting. I remember reading up on Wikipedia there was one Chinese American pilot who went back to China to help when the war broke out. Unfortunately he was eventually KIAed.
Thanks for watching! There were quite a lot of international pilots in the Chinese Air Force, even before the formation of the Flying Tigers. In fact, the 14th squadron that I mentioned in this video was originally the 14th international volunteer squadron, comprising of pilots from a variety of nations such as France, US, etc. However, by early 1938, the international squadron had been more or less disbanded due to a variety of reasons. There were many others who were of Chinese descent and many of them were usually integrated into the regulars squadrons. Unfortunately, just like the pilot you mentioned, many of them would not survive the war.
Superb!! Very interesting and gripping to say the least. Very tragic history surrounding the he111 in Chinese service, but as you say valuable lessons were learned. The prototypes in Chinese service look so different, it was a good looking aircraft with nice lines.Another great vid Andy, well worth the wait👍
Thanks for watching! A lot of the German equipment that the Chinese had at the time were either pre-production models or made specifically for them and as a result, tended to differ a bit from those used by the Wehrmacht. I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Once again my friend you have put together another fascinating and informative video, I really enjoy your channel and I look forward to your next video 👍
Thanks again! I’ve had a couple of people request that I make videos on aircraft as well so I thought it would make sense for me to start with a well known German one.

Another really interesting documentary and superbly researched as always ! I had no idea the aircraft was also a passenger plane !! I know that BMW started out making aero engines as I have a BMW history book on my shelves. 'Civil Servant' is a really good name for an aeroplane !! I hope you are having an awesome week bro !
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you found the video interesting! Part of the reason that the he111 was used as a passenger aircraft was to get around the limitations imposed by the Treaty of Versailles. While a number of planes were used as passenger planes by the Lufthansa, there were also some Luftwaffe reconnaissance planes painted with Lufthansa markings to disguise them. Thanks again for watching!
The rocaf airforce fought on with the scrapyard of the world and still came out the otherside. Impressive to say the least
