Mr. Roland I love watching you and Mr. Jimmy fishing together, both of you two guys and Bill Dance carry me back to Saturday morning sitting with my Daddy watching the best fishermen to me in the world. Thank you and !!!!! GOD Bless all 3 of you and GOD Bless you Mr. Roland for this video !!!!! James and Judy Hopper
Was an honor and a privilege to met and talk with you today...:yes I finally tracked him down. Hahahah. I have looked up to you as a fisherman my whole life. Met one of my hero’s today. Hell yes. Made up for the slow fishing. Keep on Fishing. And I got to listen to Mr Martin tell some fishing stories. I say it again. Hell yes
Guy, gals no better than this. Great action and great tutorial on pitching and flipping jigs! Great fisherman, I've noticed and been envious of the balance this man has and of course Scott too. I've seen Scott fish off the outboard motor and way up on the trolling motor mount. Roland is older , yet still stands and balances himself well while also working the trolling motor. Guys like me have to sit down or at minimum back up against the butt seat. Thanks again Roland, another great one!!!
Yeah buddy you are the man, you dont miss a beat, some quality fish my friend, I would love to fish with you one day. I'm taking my vacation this summer and coming dont to Florida to marina to fish that Marsalis lake .
There aren't any crayfish in my lake and crawdad jig trailers don't get many bites, but a simple 4" to 6" Yum Dinger jig trailer works great and catches big bass. Black/Blue and Elder's Magic colors seem to work best for me. Roland's line watching tip yielded my PB. Was fishing a jig and the line twitched sideways.
Looks like I need to be more bold in submerged cover. Thanks for the lesson! It is interesting to see the color variation of the fish in the same body of water.
Are you still up there visiting Jimmy Houston's beautiful place? Just watched his reluctant Milburn take the walk outside of the fence. Jimmy, you and Scott are my favorite folks to watch. God Bless all of you.
Hey Roland! I appreciate your tips, i love pitching and flipping and your tips are really gonna help me out, thanks again for teaching us your expertise! Much respect to you!
Whatever the hell the things is. LMAO! Next time I'm in probass I'm telling them that's what Martin called it. You have the funniest dry sense of humour .
Nice catches there Roland! Can you do a video about your go to lures for Fall fishing. I've been throwing everything in my tackle bag at them and I can't seem to catch a break or a fish.😆 Thx
love watching you fish Roland , the behind views are like watching over your shoulder, but is there a way you can wear a wireless mic . coz i learn more when i listen . thanks for the years i still have the helicopter in the pack..
Hey Roland, quick question. I was given a rod as a gift that Ive been using for pitching its thick and stiff like a broom stick, on the rod it says its a medium heavy but it takes 14-40 lb line, it doesnt give a lure weight rating on it but its thicker and stiffer than any other MH rod I own. It seems to be a heavy to me, is this a good rod to use for this purpose?
I would recommend looking up the difference between rod power, and action. It is probably a medium heavy power, with a fast action. Meaning more of the rod is stiff, but not necessarily meaning the stiff parts are as strong as a heavy. By the sounds of it, the rod would probably work well for flipping, pitching, and frogging.
Do yourself a favor everyone....learn to pitch and flip while holding your rod in your left hand....it may seem trivial but if you pitch and flip for hours think of how many times you will move your rod from hand to hand....500? 700 times? I'm constantly amazed that Pro Angles do this despite spending a bazillion hours on tackle, electronics, rods, reels....etc
I'm so impressed with Roland. At age 80, he has so much energy. I'll continue to watch as long as you keep fishing Roland.
Same

Yah son, get em.
Roland I tried to find the “208” jig you spoke of. Can you clarify what jig it is? I want to thank you for helping me catch monster bass.
The 208 was the color of the cowboy (Yamamoto #208 cowboy)
I was talking about the color which Yamamoto uses on all the lures

It sound good
@Oklahoma’sworstangler
Mr Roland can you get away with using 40 or 50 lb braid when flipping and pitching in timber?
Yes. He was using 65.
