I make BLTOEC! Bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, egg and cheese and it is so good and more filling. Add a slice of onion or two, fry eggs (broken yolks) melt slice of cheese on each fried egg (one per sandwich). I enjoy watching all that you do!
Hi we eat between 7.30/8.00pm I live in Spain and specially in the very hot hot weather its nice to cook and eat in the cooler timer in the evening from Kathy x😍
I live in Hawaii and usually eat dinner around 7-7:30. Others in my neighborhood eat earlier, but I just got in this habit when I was a single working mom and that was when I could get dinner made after work.
Hi :) I live in France and we have dinner between 7:30 and 8:30. Some of my friend who have littles ones have them eat around 6:30 and then they eat around 8:30. But most people have a snack around 4:00. It's a classic thing to see kids go out of school around 4:30 and have a snack at the bakery.
I'm from Vancouver, BC and eat dinner at 4pm. This is my new norm because I like to fast for 16 hrs each day ... I finish dinner by 4:30 and eat breakfast around 8:30. 👍
Dinner growing up-530. Dinner now- 700 ish I’m in PA! I was talking to my brother yesterday in NC , it was 900 and they just started cooking dinner- kids are out of the house!
Hi Chelsea... just want you to know how much I enjoy your channel. I used to watch after you first started channel, but then lost track of you... maybe when you were evacuated one time. Just recently your channel started showing up on my feed again. I was so happy to find I have a whole library of your videos to catch up on now! I would recommend to any new viewers to watch your library.. it's good entertainment and an opportunity to learn. Best of luck to you and your lovely family.
I am in northern Montana. We eat dinner 5-5:30. I don't know when other people eat but I think 6:30 is more common here. I like eating by 5:30 because that gives me time to finish outside chores before bed (we also have a small homestead). But we wake at 5:30 and have 3 kids under 3, so eating early is natural. And we call it dinner!
Hi Chelsea, we are in Georgia and until last year we never had set up time for supper but now we are trying to eat between 4 and 6pm because I personally want to do intermittent fasting between 16 and 18 hours. We don't always succeed but we try. Good to see you, have a blessed week 🤗💞
Here in Hawaii where the weather is pretty constant and the sun usually sets around the same time (give or take 1 hour) we have our dinner around 6:00pm.
In Ontario, in winter, we sit down just before 6 to watch the news. Empty nesters..LOL In summer, it gets pushed to 6:30-7:00. I love that you are willing to show real life, including things that don't turn out perfect.
I’m watching you from Arkansas. I’m 63 years old and we have always eaten dinner at five to 5:30 PM. Even though I’m an empty nester now that still remains my dinner time. I love your channel, your energy, and the wonderful home cooked, homegrown food you provide for your family!
Here in North Dakota we call dinner supper and we farm so “supper” is around 6:00 in the winter, but during the summer moths it’s when the sun goes down! Lunch is around 12:00.
We eat dinner around 6:45. It's just hubby and me. I used to work full time and have a horse and barn on our property. I'd come home prep dinner, clean the barn and feed the horse, have a shower and finish dinner. We used to eat a it later, but that's too late. When I was a kid, dinner was at 5:30 every night. When I had children at home it was 6 pm or we'd accommodate sports activities by being flexible.
I'm in NH, dinner growing up as a child it was on the table at 6:30. Now old and married 😂, dinner is between 4:30- 5:00 as husband is in bed by 7:00 to be up at 3:00 am. In the summer dinner is a bit later just cause it's so nice to be outside. Just think, when the chickens are producing lots of eggs, you'll be able to freeze dry some and never be out of eggs for a recipe again!
Here in Western Oregon we eat our dinner around 5:30pm. When traveling in Europe we were surprised at the late hour folks ate their dinner. (7:30-8:30 pm)
We usually have dinner around 9 or 9:30 pm. This is in Barcelona, Catalunya (Spain). When my kids were younger we tried to have dinner at 8pm. Now that they are 15, 17 and 19 everything runs a bit late. Lunch is between 2 and 3pm. They have an early start at school and university (8am) so breakfast goes around 6:45-7am. They have a sandwich during school break at 11. Thank you for sharing. 🌻
Gatlinburg Tennessee here, we eat supper around 6:30-7:30ish in the evenings here! That looks wonderful, I’m gonna have to try that recipe! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Chelsea i watch your vidéos from France and yes usually we have diner at around 8, 8 30 pm because lots of people work till 6 or 7 pm and have to come back home after leaving the office or other places. But we have a 4 to 5 snack time mostly the kids. In the UK they have diner sooner. Love your chanel
From Wisconsin. Supper is generally between 5 and 6. What we've found is that there's a difference in time based more on family/chore/work hours. My husband grew up eating around 6:30 as did most of the family's he knew growing up in the city. I'm a farm kid and we ate between afternoon chores and before evening milking.
Ah! You’re the bestest! I adore every video! We are in Gilbert, Arizona USA and we always eat between 5-6! With teens and toddlers they are always starving before 6! I love your meal prep videos! We raise Aberdeen angus and heritage Herefords so I ADORE all your cow info and videos! I just adore you! And your moms !!!!
I am from North Carolina and we eat anywhere from 6:00-9:00. The reasoning for the huge time differences is due to my son playing baseball. Several times a week, he has different types of training and practices as well. I so enjoy your channel, although we aren't homesteaders😁
Millersville, PA USA - we eat at 7:00. Reasoning is my husband I are nurses working 3-11 shift. When we are off our evening meal became 7:00 pm. The almond puff looks good.
I’m watching you from TriCities Washington area. I raised my busy kids as a single parent and we ate dinner together when we could, time wasn’t the consideration, being together was the goal (and it happened less then half the week sadly due to each of being on busy “survival schedules”). I had at least one job and either a second job or in nursing school for much of their lives. We often ate breakfast together THANKFULLY! As I’m older now (5 young beautiful grand kids) my husband and I (yep no longer single) try to eat what we call “dunch” between 2-4 and then something small/light later some of the days.
@LittleMountainRanch. Dinner has alway been (and I've tried to keep it) at 18:00; unless I worked late (used to be a registered nurse, and we worked shifts from 07:00 - 19:00). However, we now aim to have supper at least by 18:00 and at the latest be done around 18:30 - 18:45. Eating later makes us feel uncomfortable, as digestion seems to be sluggish. I love your channel and your family. Thank you for being a very natural teacher, and authentic from what I observe in your lifestyle. God bless you and yours from South Africa.
I live in the deep south of the United States and we eat supper around 6 in the evening. It's only called dinner in the northern states, in the southern states it's called supper. I lived in the UK for a short time and it was dinner there as well. My British friends absolutely loved my southern dishes I made for them on a pretty regular basis. We had friends over quite a bit and they were always willing to try my made from scratch southern style meals, and I was complimented each time, maybe they just liked having a free meal lol.
Hi I’m in US in California we usually eat around 8 but that is due to my husband and mine schedule. I grew up eating between 5:30 to 6pm. Love your show. Takes my mind off of stress my company is shutting down and we will all be laid off in a few weeks. Glad to see your video today it made me happy to see it. Thank you looks delicious.❤
I live in Iowa. I find it interesting the difference in terms for meals, etc. depending on where you live and were raised. My mom grew up on a farm so I grew up with “dinner” being the noon meal and “supper “ being the evening meal which was served at 5:15 to 5:30 pm. Still the time we eat although my nieces and nephews eat at 7:00 to 8:00 as they wait until after their children’s activities are done for the day.
I live in Pennsylvania, US. My husband gets home from work a little after 4:00, but my son has running practice year round(cross country, winter running club & track/field) doesn’t get home until around 5:30, so that’s the timeframe we’re into for supper is any time from 5:30-6:30.
When your little girl was talking my son said, “Baby!”❤ Here in rural Colorado we usually eat dinner around 4 PM, but sometimes we get hungry around 3. Of course we only eat 2 meals a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. My 2 year old eats 4 times a day though, but always eats with us when we eat. Love your channel! We always sit down after dinner and watch your videos when they come out! ❤
Southern Minnesota farm country here. We eat supper at 5:30. I think it was more like 6pm growing up. I need time for my food to digest so I can't eat and go right into dishes. I'll do dishes around 7pm. It takes me a couple hours relaxing to get tired enough for sleep so this schedule works the best.
You're not a maritimer unless you eat supper at 5...now just so proud of you ,,,I didnt have any kiddies but if I had a daughter you'd be just perfect! I smiled as you chatted with your Mom.My mom is still in palliative care awaiting a home...something that I had hoped and prayed we would never have to do.I realized that she needs way more care than I can give her.We go everyday and I care for her ...I reach for the phone at least once a day she'd always say I'd call at least 18 times when Grant was away at work...Now I am excited to get the "first" copy of that cookbook xx You bring us so much joy every video. We had our first heavy snowfall and now this Monday will be plus 8...now I think one of those stainless carts beside your stove would look lovely...ok nuff chattin...oh,yes,we are loving these new vids with Dan too. Take good care.Bonnie and Grant (The Berrys )
I grew up (east coast of Canada) having supper at 5:00. As an adult with kids (now in Ontario) we had dinner around 6:00. Since teens & Covid times, we're lucky if we eat before 7:30-8:00. lol
I’m watching from Everett, Washington. We raised our 5 kids to have dinner when my husband got home from work, as about 5:30 or 6:00. Now with our kids all grown, we eat early between 4:30 and 5:00. BLT’s are my all time favorite sandwich. Yum!!
We were a family of eight mom dad six children our dinner time was five as well.I from what I remember every family in our local area had dinner at the same time as well. Our mothers would call to us as we were outside playing and all us kids including our friends went home to eat. Actually that one of the childhood memories I clearly remember.
I'm from Spain and here most people have dinner between 9 and 10:30 or so. People with young children might feed them a bit earlier, maybe 8 or 8:30 but never before then. We also have lunch later in the day, we usually start between 2 and 3, so that also makes things make more sense... Of course things may change from one family to another, but school and work times make those eating times more common than any other... We also eat pretty differently as our heavier meal is lunch and dinner tends to be a bit lighter for most families.
We are in Pennsylvania, and we eat dinner between 4:30 AND 5:00 pm. None of us like to eat a big meal real late in the evening. Usually about 7:30 we will have a snack of swiss cheese w/ ranch dressing or some frozen fruit with either applesauce or yogurt. Nothing real heavy..
We live in Idaho and also eat between 5:00-6:00 especially in the winter months. During our long summer days we may push it back to 6:00-6:30 depending on if we are still in the garden or outside doing some chores. By the way… I’m sorry you have no eggs! We are getting sooooo many!
I am from Minnesota and currently my family eats around 5:45/6pm. My olds boy gets off work at 5:30pm and it takes him about 15/20 minutes to drive home. I have been loving your videos. My husband and I bought a house in the country, and we are trying to build our homestead. We are looking at getting chickens (hopefully sooner than later) and I am planning out a garden. I transplanted a bunch of Raspberry bushes from his grandmother's house last fall so really hoping they thrive on our property. I didn't grow up with a garden or animals, so it is all new to me and I have learnt so much from you already. Thank you so much for sharing your life.
East Tennessee and dinner is usually between 5 and 5:30. I'm raising 3 grandchildren and 2 have an 8pm bedtime. Not to mention homework, play time, and baths.
Sundays are family day so we eat supper around noon believe it or not! I know this is lunch to most people, but we do a really hearty meal for Sunday supper. To us supper can be between 12 and 2 but dinner would be between 5 and 6. Originally from the north east ( New York/New Jersey) that's how we were raised as we spent a lot of time with my grandparents. They were both born in the early 1900s. 1902 & 1904 to be exact. When our kids were young, dinner was usually between 4 & 6. It really depended on the time of year and the day of the week.
Cobbler for breakfast! You have just received the best Mom ever award. Sounds so yummy I'm from North Carolina (in the US) and we have dinner between 6 and 7 p.m. I have a neighbor that eats dinner at 4:30 p.m.
We eat supper when we are done working for the day. During the winter, that's usually 6:30 or 7. During the summer, it might not be until 8:30 or 9:00.
Hello Chelsea. I live in Penrith, Australia. We usually have dinner around 7pm in summer. In winter we eat around 6pm. I love all your videos. Thank you so much for sharing, Love and Blessings to you all. Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
In my grow room/ grow station I just affixed my grow lights underneath my shelves and I start with putting anything to raise my seedlings up to the lights then as the seedlings grow I remove what's under the pots to lower them away from the lights gradually. Works best for me
We live in rural Manitoba and we like to have dinner between 4 -4:30 so we get a bit of intermittent fasting in before breakfast. Love all your cooking and I can’t wait until your cookbook becomes available 🥰!
I'm from Arkansas and I like to eat by 5:30 (on Friday) as we have guest then, but any other time we like to eat by no later than seven. We are very busy... working on our property and don't stop till after dark...love make ahead meals!
In my experience, when setting up trail cameras, set them up down closer to the ground unless you’re just wanting to catch only large game. I always look for tracks in the snow to know where to set up my cams….I’ve gotten a lot of small animals like Ermine, Jack Rabbits, Chickarees..aka, Pine Squirrels, Pine Martins, Mule Deer, Bear, Bobcats, Fox, Coyotes, and Moose. We live at almost 10k feet in elevation in the Colorado Rockies. Good luck….I’m looking forward to seeing your wildlife photos….🥰
I live in Oklahoma. We tend to eat dinner around 6. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later but as I work a traditional work day (8-5) 6 or 6:30 is the target.
For us, dinner in winters is around 7:00-7:30PM but in summers from 8:30-9:00PM. 9PM can seem super later in summers but since temperatures here during the most of the day are super high (30°C-45°C) so everyone fake advantage of the not so hot nights since we're stuck inside our homes/work from 10AM to 4PM most of the times.
In Minnesota we always ate around 5:30-6:00. In Virginia where we lived for about six years we ate later as my husband never got home early enough so around 7:00 was the norm!
Greetings from Germany. Growing up, dinner time was always at 6, later with my kid between 5 and 6. Now it’s usually later, between 6 and 7:30, due to later working ours.
I’m in Ontario! We eat dinner as early as 4:45 or 5:30 at the latest. My kids get super hungry after school and they go to bed at 7. It works out ok! My husband and I sometimes have a second dinner/snack before bed.
We are located in Florida and usually eat between 7:00-7:30 pm because my husband doesn’t get home from work until at least 6:00-6:15 pm with traffic. I think the longer daylight/sunshine makes a difference too.
I’m not a big fan of raw radishes either, but I chop them up and throw them in vinegar and use them anytime you would use chopped pickles or relish. It adds a pretty color with very little radish flavor. They go in every potato salad, egg salad, and chicken salad I make.
I live by myself and I just eat whenever I'm hungry. It's 9pm when I'm watching this and I'm eating dinner now haha! Growing up we ate around 7, my mom was a single mom and she worked outside the home, and even she got home it was usually around 6, so it wasn't until 7 that dinner would be ready. In my previous house one of my roommates didn't get home until around 8, so that's when I aimed to have dinner. I'm in Washington state, near Olympia.
Tennessee, supper was at 5:30-6:00 when my husband and younguns were living, just giving my husband enough time to shower after getting home from work. When I was a youngun and lived with my grandparents, Papa would have supper ready and on the table when we got off the school bus, 3:00-3:15, then we'd get any leftovers around 7:00-8:00 if we wanted, weird but we survived, but we were always starving when we got home. And Papa was an excellent cook!!! For a long time, nobody was allowed to answer the phone while we were at the supper table, but once we missed an important call, then we would answer the phone only talking long enough to tell folks we were eating supper and would call them back or they could call back later, and not another sentence was allowed to be spoken. Nowadays, as a disabled widow, I just eat whenever my stomach can handle it. Of course, I often have breakfast for supper and supper for breakfast, just depends on my mood. Last night had a bacon and scrambled egg sandwich with some pepper jack cheese on it. For lunch today, in just a few minutes, gonna use some leftover bacon to make a sandwich, even though I'm out of tomato and spinach leaves (not a fan of lettuce), and have some mac and cheese with it. Weird combination, but I've seen folks eat much crazier combinations. You're lucky you didn't end up with one of them old fashioned pocket omelets. Done that twice when I was a youngun, the second time there was two eggs, had to clean it up myself, haven't placed another in my pocket since, but have placed one under my hat quite a few times.
Now that you have your freeze dryer you can freeze dry eggs. We have a medium size dryer and 18 eggs will fit on one tray. You just scramble them up real good and spread on your trays, freeze first and then transfer to freeze dryer. Use them in all your baking needs or make scrambled eggs.
Like you, we eat dinner between 5 and 6 pm. I live in Virginia, USA, but grew up in the upper Midwest. I will definitely try your mum's almond puff recipe! I love choux pastries, and that is a really interesting way to use it! Thank you, as always, for sharing your world with us Chelsea!
Hey, friends, I did put a link for the light hooks in the show notes above for those asking. See you soon!
Since I'm a household of one, I eat dinner whatever time I get hungry...😂
I make BLTOEC! Bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, egg and cheese and it is so good and more filling. Add a slice of onion or two, fry eggs (broken yolks) melt slice of cheese on each fried egg (one per sandwich). I enjoy watching all that you do!

A loud house sounds wonderful, we are empty nesters so the only noise we have is the dog barking :) We are in N. Illinois. We eat between 5 - 5:30.

I am watching you from Trinidad,West-Indies. And my family and I have dinner at 6:30pm. I love watching your videos.
Growing up in Alaska, dinner was usually 6-6:30, now 8-9. Bedtime as a child was 8-9, and now 1-2am, still in Alaska.

You are such an inspiration. You don't get bent out of shape and are so lovely as well as calm . I enjoy watching from the Sunshine Coast of BC.
Howdy Chelsea… always enjoy visiting with you… and it’s a VERY special treat when we see you cook on your Wood stove… 👊🏼
Hi girl, Deirdre here from Ireland. We eat dinner any time between 6 and 8 pm depending on the family’s schedule that day!
Bonjour from Montreal, we have our supper around 6h - 6h30.... btw you can replace 1 egg with a table spoon of white vinegar. Christine

I am in Kansas, and grew up on a farm. We ate dinner around 7 pm. After the chores were all done. Love your homestead.

Love your show. Takes my mind off of stress my company is shutting down and we will all be laid off in a few weeks. Glad to see your video today it made me happy to see it. Thank you looks delicious.❤
We eat dinner between 7:00 - 8:00. When we had kids at home, it was about 5:30 - 6:00, after homework was done.
I’m from Sweden. We eat dinner around 6-6.30 every evening. Love your youtube videos 😊
Chelsea..you and your family are wonderful...have a good weekend.
PS...watching you from the south of France.
My family lives in Cornelius, Or. Our dinner time is usually between 5:30/6. Love watching all your farm adventures.
Thanx for sharing, from Virginia, supper was at 5-5:30 PM. 😃
We eat supper between 5-6. We live in Kansas. Your grow room is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I am in Australia. As a child we always ate at 6:30pm. Now that I have my own children we usually eat anywhere between 6:00-7:30pm.
Missouri and 5:30 ish usually supper time!!
Cobbler for breakfast! You have just received the best Mom ever award. Sounds so yummy
I'm from North Carolina (in the US) and we have dinner between 6 and 7 p.m. I have a neighbor that eats dinner at 4:30 p.m.
We eat around 5-6 in winter and 7-8 in summer, in Southern California. Thank you for sharing your life!
Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
hello watching from Ontario Canada and we always have supper at six
I'm in Michigan. Our dinner time during the week was 6:30. That when my dad got home from work.
I live in Oklahoma. We tend to eat dinner around 6. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later but as I work a traditional work day (8-5) 6 or 6:30 is the target.
We have dinner around 4:30-5:00 pm during the week but a little earlier on weekends here in the Midwest
I am watching from Austria, Europe. We normally eat dinner at around 6:30 to 7:30pm. I love all your videos and just started my first sprouts!
I am watching you from Olney IL. I try to have dinner ready around 6pm. Thanks for all your videos and your life!!
In Minnesota we always ate around 5:30-6:00. In Virginia where we lived for about six years we ate later as my husband never got home early enough so around 7:00 was the norm!
Im in Nevada and grew up in California. Dinner is typically between 5:30 and 6:00.
I skip breakfast, eat lunch around 1pm and dinner around 6:30-7pm - UK.
Love your videos and watching your cooking from West Virginia
Greetings from Germany. Growing up, dinner time was always at 6, later with my kid between 5 and 6. Now it’s usually later, between 6 and 7:30, due to later working ours.
I'm in Illinois and we have dinner between 5 and 6pm. It really helps with my husband's occasional indigestion of we eat before 6.
I’m in Ontario! We eat dinner as early as 4:45 or 5:30 at the latest. My kids get super hungry after school and they go to bed at 7. It works out ok! My husband and I sometimes have a second dinner/snack before bed.
Growing up in Belgium: Dinner at 18:00 🙂
Living in Germany as an adult: Between 18.00 and 20:00
We are located in Florida and usually eat between 7:00-7:30 pm because my husband doesn’t get home from work until at least 6:00-6:15 pm with traffic.
Great idea! I also do not like raw radishes. Thanks for sharing. I may have to try that.
Hello from Ohio. We usually eat between 4:30-5:30pm. BLT sound so good. Can't wait for homegrown tomatoes.
