    Just bought the Zwift Ride. 1. I dont want to use my good road bike indoors and put unnecessary miles on it 2. I dont want to have the hassle in installing and de-installing the bike when the weather in winter is good enough 3. I dont want to buy an extra bike only for Zwift 4. This seems to be a well thought-out all-in-one product for Zwift, very convenient. Let´s see if it holds up in practice.

    Hi 🖐️ I snapped my femoral head off my femur in September in a crash and couldn’t walk for three months. It was my third fracture on a bike, after my shoulder and collarbone. As a father of two kids, I can’t justify the danger any longer. The Zwift ride frame has given me so much cycling freedom back and a fractional cost with virtually no maintenance. It’s a game changer!

    I'm a once outdoor rider that has transitioned into a solely indoor rider. My Zwift setup is a bit outdated and I'm looking to upgrade. This package suits me perfectly.

    The Zwift Ride is not aimed at riders with bikes and smart trainers. It's aimed at the same people that would have bought a Peloton, but don't have an outdoor bike. I bought my Stages SB20 about three years ago and if this had been available at that time, I would have bought this. I don't want an outdoor bike. I'm sure a lot of people that would have bought a Peloton will be attracted to this because of the Zwift environment. There's a lot to be said about the Zwift community.

      Yeah that definitely feels like that’s the goal to target more of that market and to be fair it’s a smart play. They basically undercut their biggest competition price wise and it being modular with the trainer separate gives it a massive leg up on other smart bikes.

      Disagree, I cycle and love going out on my bike but don't want to keep taking my bike on and off the trainer throughout winter. I use my bike to commute as well as going for rides on weekends.
      The Zwift Ride is like riding a bike and it can be adjusted so both me and my wife can use it.

    This is a great option for new riders because it lowers the barrier of entry. So if you new to cycling and just can't get outside enough this is a awesome option and let's face it, more subs = higher profits and that's the point of this bike. Oh and it is super quiet, our fan is louder.

    I got the Zwift Ride on the weekend and it's an awesome bit of kit! Absolutely love it and it replaces a bike that's done 70,000km and a V2 Wahoo KickR that has over 55,000km on it. Crank length is perfect for me and I love Zwift.

    Had my Zwift ride for 2 weeks now, came within 2 days, Zwift clicks goes great on the top bars and works really well, quiet and smooth all round, my iPad 13” pro M4 works great with it and pairs up with all devices fast with no hassle, great bit of kit, changed pedals for SPD-SL and it was good to go, pain cave ready

      Good to hear from someone who actually bought one! What was the main thing that lead to going with the smart bike combo over a regular trainer?

  • @slbarr88

    Good news: There’s a setting in game to change your gearing and shift pattern.
    I got one because three of us in the house ride and it’s easier to move the seat than bringing bikes inside and swapping them.
    So far so good.
    Complaints:
    - can’t adjust the crank arm length nor replace the cranks
    - wish the hoods had rubber or a grippier texture. Bummer to have to wear gloves indoors.
    - no way to connect it to the kicker climb or any moving trainer bases
    - stock seat isn’t great
    - front wheel stand only has one centered point of contact instead of two means it’s a bit wobbly.
    - chain tensioner is noisier than I expected
    Having to pay $700 for just a heavy ass steel tube frame with game controllers attached with no wheels or components and all of the above issues seems a bit steep. Probably would have been happier at $400.

    I ordered one last week and got an email with a DPD tracking number. Unfortunately the tracking number is not showing on the system I'm not getting much stasifaction from Zwift in tracking it. All I am getting from them is that it has been shipped and they are looking into it. I would be cautious before ordering. For the record i am in Ireland.

    The bike is for those who want to get into zwift or fitness. But are not cycling.
    This is a great way to try to convince my friends to start indoor cycling with me.
    It’s not for us at all.

    • @dobbscycleworks
      @dobbscycleworks  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I’d agree probably best suited for those just starting out or looking to only do indoor riding. Cade media pointed out it’s priced just under the price of a peloton so that could very well be the market they’re going for.

      True to some extent but I have been Zwifting for several years, both cycling and running and I have multiple setups and just because of that experience, I saw how perfect the Zwift ride filled the needs of my family. A new Zwifter would not see nor understand it's potential imho. I know others that look at this bike from a "we" perspective and not the "I" perspective who are strongly considering...

  • @roostir1
    @roostir1 3 месяца назад +1

    I think its for me. I only have one bike. My indoor trainer will be upstairs. When weather permits, I don't want to have any barriers to ride, such as detaching and reassembling my bike and bringing it down the stairs for a ride.

    I just got into mountain biking, want do ride when weather isn't favorable and in the winter. I ordered one, have a friend who works for Peloton and could have got a crazy deal but have been waiting on an affordable all in one Zwift setup for a while.

  • @repmortskcab8483
    @repmortskcab8483 6 месяцев назад +4

    I just got the zwift ride and it's great. Main reason I got it is 1. to bring to summer house (much easier to transport). 2. Works with 4 ppl in my family with very different body sizes. I already have kickr v5 and a kickr bike shift so this is my 3rd setup. All 3 have different purposes and pros/cons. There's no one size fits all...
    And the Zwift price increase...nothing compared to all the money I would spend on meds in the future if I didn't Zwift.
    And I don't think that you would think that a person with 2 setups already would buy the Zwift Ride.
    Some day, ppl may stop seing themselves are reps of the worlds need and wants. At least Zwift takes the lead and innovate, and not only copy like ....

      @deniswerner9448 I have 3 setups, including the wahoo kickr bike shift. The bike shift is extremely quiet. This Zwift Ride (at least mine) is extremely quiet. My son came home when I was testing it and he was amazed. Only thing that bugs me is the tablet holder at 49.99€ that is just a piece of fairly simple plastic.
      The only kit that I can put on the car bike holder on the hook and be used by our family of 4

    Love your channel, but I’m gonna have to disagree with you on this one! Writing your own bike on Zwift ends up with you ruining your bike because of all the sweat, salt and crap that accumulates on your bike no matter what you do therefore either get used crappy bike and put it on there which is an option or get there set up and not worry about ruining anything I think they’re onto something really good here. I think you’re just wrong about this. If you just talk about what happens to your bike either your new bike or a used bike you put on there they get totally ruined. It’s just gonna happen no matter what you do so this is a good thing. Think you’re wrong here sorry.

      You know and I was even thinking about this last night while on my trainer. I was doing a hill climb and just thought “man… I am really sweating a lot RIGHT ON my bike.” lol. Yeah with no wind to help wick it away you definitely have a good point there!

    Have had the Zwift ride for some time now. Brought it with me to the summer house. Easy to just attach to the bike stand mounted on the hook on the car. I see competitive products coming out now, but none of them are designed in such a way it can easily be mounted on the car-stand.
    Been riding at the summerhouse almost every day. In my best summer vacation form ever.
    Had a Zwift session at the summer house with son and his 3 friends, who got hooked and at least 2 of them really want to start Zwifting and seriously consider getting the Zwift Ride 😂
    If Zwift ride would have been released before I bought my Wahoo kickr bike shift, I would not have bought the kickr bike shift.
    The quick guide is soo useful. Works very well with most persons with almost no tweaking. Much easier to adjust to different body sizes than any other bike/trainer that I know of.
    The virtual gearing button design, that they are reachable both from the hood and from the drops, enabling gear up/down from both rider position. Brilliant design.
    So far nothing negative to say.

    I bought one the day it came out. It took about a week to get. I was in the market for a trainer. I am brand new to the world of cycling indoors (and cycling in general). My current bike is a Trek 7.2 from 2014 (about 600 miles this summer). I was looking at a couple of different choices. The smart bikes were all in the $3k+ range. That is a little "spicy", but plausible. A Wahoo Kickr seemed like what I wanted to go with, but using my own bike seems like a PITA. I live on the 33rd floor and my bike is stored in the bike room on the bottom floor. Then I saw a few of the influencers talking about this and it looked like it was perfect for me. Being locked into Zwift seems to be the only negative, but if I needed to, I could get a gear set and mount it on to the Kickr. I only have 5.5 hours on it so far (chest cold right after it arrived), but so far so good. It does not wake my wife up in the room next to it. You are right about the tool. Just a 5mm hex key, but being able to store it at the bike makes it easier for my wife and I to share.

    I disagree with you because you're on the internet!
    I'm happy to pay Zwift the increased price for the service, but would be very okay if they stuck to the software side going forward. There is also a competitor to this product that just launched, so going back in time when they were really big on hardware, it made sense to try and make a competing product. It made sense then but less so now.
