Jack.. the singer put me onto the DMAS years ago.. but ..if you dig out pastels old stuff.. and then listen to the new.. you realise that they are clever..talented..Hardworking lads. To me..they are The Doors..stones. Floyd.. level..never mind the Roses..Verve..Oasis.. Pastel are just new at it.. I figure..if they keep it up for 10 years.. we will witness some classic albums.. this band are not fakers.. or impersonators.. Pastel are the real deal... what the world is waiting for..I am blown away by the talent.. Still.. early days.
DMA’s aren’t good enough, saw the support LG a few years ago.

@@BloodSweatAndMeth dont know, Verve's early stuff is filled with LOTS of guitar effects and ashcroft's voice is very distant and pushed far away in the mix. This sounds too poppy and "charlatans-esque".
@@lexoz3923 watch them live, it's northern soulesque, doesn't quite have the charlatans pop sound, but it could easily head in the between 10th and 11th area.

Manchester sound came back with the Dma's , Liam and Noel have both spoke highly of them
I didn't even know of this band Pastel today in May 2022 when I've already been listening to Dma's Manchester sound since 2017
@@trumpsdailytruthsmakelibsc6952 these are the real deal..they work hard..disciplined.. like.. there old stuff mostly wrote by old guitarist .. was mint like..they had good songs..more punky..raw..dark.. well..when he left..they started again..and jack started writing and they on another level..they were good.. but now..they are amazing..its the whole thing with em..like. and they got history..they played the fields..done the gigs..got the following..the old fashioned way of gigging. I just hope they keep it low.. about the art. The lead singer is cool.. he's not full of himself.. shy..like..he walks to the back..or sirs down.. humble.. his writing has proved mint up to now..

i grew up in the 90's to oasis and the verve and even though rock and roll wasn't and isn't my first choice of music these guys concerted me.
inspired a generation and transcended rock and roll. pure demi gods in my opinion!

Heard this on Steve Lamacq yesterday, I was captivated all the way through. As a fan of early Verve, it's great to hear something like this again, Pastel really capture that sound well! Great track, looking forward to hearing more. Hope they play Sheffield, or somewhere in Yorkshire!
