Thank you. They are absolute stars. In addition to being talented craftsmen, they were natural in front of the camera... first time for both of them. Kian and Logan are very proud of the work that they've done at Wentworth Woodhouse and hopefully, there will be more work for them here in the future.
Thanks! We have some more plasterwork repairs going on in the room next door to the Earl's bedroom, so do watch out for future videos covering this. Logan should be making a reappearance alongside some new young faces.
I saw this stately home featured on "Antiques Roadshow" a while back and if I remember correctly it has been purchased by some one who is restoring it gradually. The building has one of the longest palace facades in Europe I believe so restoration will be a massive job!
The Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust owns the building and gardens. We're a charitable Trust with the aim of securing a sustainable future for the site. We have ambitious plans to regenerate the buildings and the grounds and save the site for the nation. And you're right, we have many years of exciting work ahead of us.
Fantastic and brilliant work, what I'm really wondering is why they had a complete restoration before they fixed the roof in the first place? Also did they fix it after the second time they had to restore the ceiling? Basically have they ever fixed the roof?
Thanks for your comment and yes, temporary fixes have been done over the years but a 'proper job' is needed now. As the roof timbers dry out, this causes shrinkage which can loosen or detach areas of plasterwork, so it's a big job... but we will get it done!
I’m so glad these ancient crafts are being preserved for another generation.
Fantastic work and so nice to see young apprentices being involved. You should be so proud!
♥Amazing young people restoring 200-year old appointments - wow!
The detail is impressive!
Those young men are so incredibly talented and are so fortunate to be able to work on this wonderful house. Beautiful work!!!

How big exactly is this room? (the Earl's Bedroom) certainly looks big...
Hello... the room is 8m x 5.2m and the ceiling height is 5.1m at the highest point. So yes... it's a big room!
