For PAX East 2023 I booked hotel outside of going through PAX site. Paid like 2200 for the Omni across the street. I looked at it as paying extra for the convenance of being close. I just ordered my tickets for PAX East 2024, and booked same hotel and room type through PAX site, was half price, 1100. So do your research and book through PAX.
Veteran PAX'er here! Coming from NYC, one of the ways me and my friends save money to come to PAX is we just get AirBnB's slightly out of Boston that's no more than a 20-30min drive. The reason is because hotels charge a pretty mean premium for parking PER night. Like an extra $100! This was also in like 2013 so it's probably higher. We just drive in and plan to enter the Convention center around 9-10am. Even if the parking lot is filled, there is a plenty of shuttles from other lots that can take you to the Convention center very easily. With the AirBnB's, we can split the payment and pay around like 30-50 per person for a night. In the past, we used to rent a single room near the convention center and have multiple people sleep on the floor and that was awful.
Great points! I didn't think to mention that this time around, but I also used to find a hotel about 20 minutes outside of Boston and drive in to a shuttle parking lot to save some $$ when we needed to. The AirBnB is a great idea!! I didn't even think of the AirBnB though, mostly because it's usually just my husband and I that stay in a room - we meet up with some friends at the convention center just for lunch or for an hour and go our own ways. Thanks for adding your thoughts!!

Yikes!!! I definitely cover that in my Pax East 2024 ticket review video. It's INSANE how much these hotels charge separately from the PAX site.
I enjoyed the video!
Thank you Sura!!

Is there any mobile gaming at PAX?
I'm not sure honestly! If so, moreso would be for Indie games but once I hear I can let you know!!
