    Thank you for explaining this about the pre-wound bobbins. I was just wondering about it the other day. I usually wind my on bobbins.

    Hi Gary! Thank you for this video. Can I ask about using the empty prewound bobbins for winding embroidery thread for Free standing lace items? I have a bobbin winder that came with my PR machine.

      @dianneodonnell3204 We do not recommend reusing the prewounds as they are prone to breaking. Best to invest in new bobbins to wind your thread onto which you would have some that came with your machine.

    Can an empty prewound bobbin when doing regular sewing? I was told to use different weight thread in bobbin when sewing vs embroidery.

      @michellekessing1591 You can use it - it just means that the back will not be balanced as well as if you used the same thread top and bottom for sewing.

      @@EchidnaClub I want to use the same thread top and bottom. Is it okay to reuse the prewound bobbin for this purpose. I rarely wind the bobbin completely full. I just got the Brother Innov-is NQ3700D and don't want to damage it.

      @michellkessing1591 It is not a construction thread so I would not recommend using it for the top, it is meant to be used as a economic way of doing your embroideries.

    Are the Brother bobbins suitable for Janome Machines????

    • @EchidnaClub
      @EchidnaClub  2 года назад

      If they take the A style bobbin, yes they are. Be aware though the thread we use is finer than the Janome Bobbin Fill. You will need to adjust your bobbin tension.

    are plastic bobbins better than metal bobbins , i see that you can buy both types???

      With your machine, if it has a metal bobbin case you would use the metal or plastic bobbins. With the drop in plastic bobbin cases, you would only use the plastic bobbins. Always use what came with your machine as this is the best ones to use.

    The thickening bobbin is like putting rubber bands on a watermelon and.... POW!

      Totally! Imagine it happening in the machine!

      @@EchidnaClub I've only been embroidering for almost 2 years. I do use the pre wound and occasionally Re-use when needing to have same color thread in bobbin. I inspect each one well. Fingers crossed!
