  • When Gorbals gangster Jimmy Boyle was given a life sentence for murder at the age of 22, he believed his life was over.
But Jimmy was selected to take part in an experimental scheme allowing him access to the arts and it dramatically changed his fortunes.
Gallery owner Richard Demarco recognised Jimmy’s talents, giving him exhibition space at the Edinburgh International Festival. On his release, Jimmy continued to work as a sculptor and author.

Whn I was a child in the Gorbals the 1950s this chib man terrorised the community. He shouldn't be given publicity.

Very inspiring journey, sorry for his victims and their families but Jimmy Certainly took the opportunity to self actualise when it was given to him.
