WW1 German soldier: “Miene Gott!”
Lmao
@@m4a3e8sherman3 is your name a real tank? I know there's the M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo, but I've never heard of the M4A3E8.
@@spencerherold4895 yeah it's a tank
@@spencerherold4895 It was the advanced model of Sherman used near the end of the war. Nicknamed the "Easy 8", it had similar armour and improved mobility over the original M4 variant. They were often equipped with the long barrel 76mm, giving them improved anti tank capabilities.
"One stared and stared and stared, as if one had lost the power of one's limbs. The big monsters approached us slowly, but always advancing. Someone shouted, 'The Devil is coming!!!' and word quickly spread across the line." - Otto Schulz, German Infantry at the Battle of Flers-Courcelette, 1916
Might be a bit smoother if you first separated Joakim’s voice from the band instruments then added it to the orchestra version.
Much lighter, not so epic unfortunately :( Almost the same as the original soundtrack version. (And without the rhythm it's so hard to synchronize.)
@@songbreakerworkbench You did an amazing job tho, it's really good and I find myself on your channel more times than I can remember. Keep up the amazing work and more power to you :DD
German Intelligence: "The British are bringing in a mechanized water container."
Germans: "Dude was en fick? Lol, cool. We'll get a nice drink after we take their trench."
Germans hearing engines and looking over the hill: "---Why does it have guns?"
Also the germans: wait never mind it broke down.
And the other one is coming towards us at like 2 miles a decade.
Yes, they were bad, but they were also rather new machines
Besides, that thing can bounce your bullets, and has a pair of big guns pointed at you
@The “Meat Chopper” Very slow gun. but gun nonetheless.
@@Superbug-tf8zy and it's a very very angry mobile water tank that has guns.

Agree
I literally just came from that one. So I'll let you know, they just made it
That solo building into the final chorus line has to be one of the most beautiful things that ever graced my ears.
When soldiers saw tanks for the first time, they probably thought they were fighting a monster.
They often did
Why? You'd have to be a moron to think a tank was a monster. It was the early 20th century, automobiles were already relatively common and trains had been around for centuries. What kind of idiot would look at all the widely available self-propelled metal vehicles they grew up around, but then immediately assume that another self-propelled vehicle with more metal and a gun strapped to it was supernatural? Come on. They lived with these: external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2Fxk2b5Yn9Bww%2Fmaxresdefault.jpg&f=1&nofb=1 so do you really think they couldn't at least understand what these: tank100.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/1521-A6-Schneider.jpg were?
For the record, I absolutely loathe this arrogant dismissal of the intelligence of past civilisations. That anybody born before the modern age was braindead. You might as well say people from the year 2000 would consider you a wizard because you had an iPhone.
@@venus1333
You do realize the Germans actually thought these new vehicles were monsters, right?
@@foundationsoversight8479 I’ve read the eyewitness accounts. They compare them metaphorically to monsters but none of them actually seemed to believe tanks were a supernatural thing. He describes them as ‘limping’ something tanks clearly can’t do which indicates he’s just using personification and metaphors to get his point across. He later calls them machines.
So just because they used metaphors in the same way a modern person would describe a large and powerful car doesn’t mean they thought the tanks were actual, literal monster.
@@venus1333 dude, get laid no one cares
The singers of war:
Joakim: The evil spirits filled with glutton and greed, back-stabbing thoughts, and treacherous sin, doing what their masters say.
Floor: The good and wholy spirits that wish to end this tyranny of the Great War and to go back to their families and loved ones, following the orders of their leader to restore peace in Europe.
I love the vocal duet in this one. Ghost in the Trenches next, please.
I'll upload it as soon as done :)
Imagine you're one of the field commanders of the German trenches when you're here. All memes aside; you got news of some broken codes indicating the plans for a mechanized water container, and you see the MK 1s advancing. It's pretty large, at first, and you seem uncertain... in the smoke and dust of the Artillery, you can only make out it's silhouette. The men start shouting things of suspicion and fear, but you order your men to hold..... something's not right. Just what is it that the British are trying to pull?
And then, BOOM! The sound of naval guns echo with thunder and doom. Out of the corner of your eye, just as you take cover; you watch as one of your light pillboxes gets blown to smithereens; one of your strongest fortifications, annihilated like it was nothing... The machine gun fire echos with even louder wrath and crossfire, as you realize it sounds almost like MG37s are advancing... Everyone ducks out of instinct, rushing to their positions. Sargeants keep yelling over the artillery "What are your orders? SIR! What are your orders?!!"
... You remain silent. You don't know what to say. The meetings, the assessment of your resources; nothing prepared you for THIS... You don't know what to do. You really don't. The Sargeants meet eyes with you; they sense what's going on in your head.
It finally hits the both of you... just how fucked you and your men are.
The Sargeants grit their teeth, and they move out in the Trenches; mentally preparing themselves to resist to the very end, and throw everything they got at these new "Tanks".
Hell has come to your doorstep. You're covered in mud, and not at all prepared for Guests.
And it's knock.. is that of the might of the British Navy.
That is a great description, really brings to life what may have happened in the germans minds when they saw the tanks
It sounds like a duet between Joakim and Floor, so powerful!
Sadly the orchestra is louder than their voices in it, but what I can hear is EPIC!
Keep the work up!
Thank you!

In my opinion, here's what I think of this: If this was a game the intro would be a build-up for the boss level(s). In a movie, it would make for a fantastic film opening (with, or without vocals).
I mean, if fighting a tank for literally the first time ever isn't a boss level, I don't know what is.
@@Meshakhad I mean, only on the german side you were fighting against the Mark tanks, and during the battle of Villers-Bretonneux, there was the first tank battle between the british and german tanks
if world war 1 never ended, and we were playing a game or watching a movie about no man's land in post apocalyptic retro futuristic europe.... trenches, tanks, gas, heavily armored flamethrower guys, rats, dead bodies and bones.... that's the vibe this song is giving me.
Sabaton x Nightwish needs to happen! Imagine Joakim and Floor doing a duet together LIVE. I hope that will be on Sabaton's next album.

God this brought tears to my eyes because this is so beautiful
I'd recommend making it a bit louder. I have my headset on with maxed audio and it doesn't sound that loud.
Either your headset is weak, or your ears are damaged
Both are serious issues you should probably deal with
@@foundationsoversight8479 No, any other video and I need my headset down at are nd 20-30.

The audio seems fine to me. I have no idea what the problem could stem from. Rereading what I sent, I apologise if I sounded brash or rude. I did not intend to sound mean.
Not gonna lie the Germans were probably very scared of the first encounter against the armored tank, imagine fighting then out of nowhere the sound of firing rifles are covered up by one continuous roaring and clanking of metal. Shiver me to know.
This also makes me think of the wars i served in Afghanistan and Iraq and what we went through in those conflicts love the group their music speaks to all generations
