NaNoWriMo is a great way to get into writing a novel, but easily becomes a distraction from other goals. I had a similar experience with NaNo a few years ago. I would stop working on my WIP to start a different project for NaNo for two to three months. Then only to stop writing that novel in December. You got this. If something is scary it is usually the right direction to go.
Hi Sara! It's nice that you're giving yourself space to ground yourself and reprioritize. It's something we should all do from time to time to make sure we are prioritizing what's important to us instead of continuing a draining routine into perpetuity. Also, I love that you're starting a running routine. I love running myself, and it's so easy to catch the bug. Just be careful-- running every day as a beginner makes it very easy to get injured. Happy running! For podcasts, I usually listen on Spotify but will occasionally watch on youtube for bigger guests.
I write in either word and one drive saves as I am writing or I use Scrivener which backups my work on one drive. That changed my life no more thinking about backing up my work.
sara your vlogs are effortlessly entertaining and inspiring to watch!! i wanna be as disciplined and free as you, being a writer and content creator is a dream to me - and your living it and showing me and others that IT IS POSSIBLE. your insights and tips encourage me ever so much to continue my small journey as a young writer and youtuber. thank you for this video bestie!!
Really excellent video! I enjoy these chatty-style vlogs the most. I also gave up on NaNoWriMo this year, just because it wasn't serving me at this moment in time, and I think that being kind to yourself should come before any other goal, so good for you!
It made me so happy watching you dream big while setting goals but also somehow having it feel realistic at the same time. It is insane to me that 100k subscribers in 3 years could in any way be feasible but maybe I just need to dream a little bigger.
That's the problem with social media goals lol, because one video or a couple videos could take off and I could hit that no problem, its such a wild thing!
saraaa! this was a great vlog; thank you for sharing those vulnerable moments and realizations with us. i've also kinda fallen off the band wagon w/ my youtube but, like you were saying, it brings joy and should be something we prioritize. excited for your podcast journey and all of your goals!!! :)
You have inspired me to chase my own goals. Rough times have kept me down but I’m finally ready to claim my dreams. Thank you for the content you create.
Great video Sara! I like how you have the strength to say no to things, unclutter you life, and make more room for whatever aligns to your goals. Congratulations on your growing number of followers and subscribers. I wish you continued success! :)
Thank you! I definitely need to work on saying no before things get overwhelming but it felt so good after I removed things. And thank you for the tip :)
This video was so inspiring! It’s amazing that you are so self aware and intuitive, watching you carve your path and follow your passion is so motivating and amazing (: ❤
When you feel your book is ready, I'd suggest giving yourself a deadline, and if it isn't picked up by a publisher, I'd self-publish. You already have a good following, and by then you'll have even more. That would be a reason for a publisher to pick you up, too, of course. :) I like the 3 day, 3 month, 3 year goal idea.
Love this video and love that you want to focus more on RUclips as for the past few months you’re the RUclipsr I wait for releasing! (I don’t like shorts) Podcasts I tend to listen on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Don’t really watch them. Also I love you’re “in 3s” goal setting. Contemplating doing some 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months and 3 years goal setting now. Interesting!
Great video! I feel like I needed it. Seeing you reground yourself and reprioritize your goals has made me want to do the same. I feel like I've just been floating for a while now, still working on my goals but not with the amount of focus that I'd like. I wrote down my next steps to getting published today which felt really good. Thank you for this! Also I usually listen to podcasts on apple podcasts, and I'm not sure what you're thinking for yours but I'm excited anyway!
It’s so exciting and inspiring to watch you chase your dreams, Sara!! Can’t wait for the podcast 💕 you mentioned listening to a few podcasts to get back in a positive state of mind - which ones do you listen to?
Not sure what the podcast would be about.. but I'm so down for a new podcast to listen too! This video just inspired me to get regrounded myself so hopfully 2023 will flourish! Sending good vibes while you're starting this new journey! I'm usually listening on Spotify, but ya girl is a visual person so youtube is great too 😅🤣
Lol yeah, I was being super cryptic on the podcast idea because I like it so much. I think I'm going to post it to youtube, Spotify, and apple podcasts! 2023 will definitely flourish!
Hello, thank you so much for this video, it was very entertaining and interesting I hope you accomplish all your goals you have in mind have a nice day.
I would totally listen to your podcast!!! I watch them on RUclips and I also listen to them on Spotify--Can't you do both? I usually seek out my favorite podcasts on multiple platforms, so that's something to consider. (Speaking of podcasts, have you listened to Make Art, Not Content? It's my favorite podcast, great for creatives of any medium!)
Yes, I will be putting it out on several platforms, I just want to make sure I’m not missing any!! And I’ll have to look that podcast up! Thanks for the suggestion :)
@@SaraLubratt no idea, another host did the production end, i was more the research and comedic relief. It did the analytics (DL numbers), uploaded it to multiple platforms and also let us drop on an intro and outro to the front and back end. Google podcasts and podcast addicts. I remember when we had ours we used a service to get it to drop on a ton of platforms.
Good to know! What service did you use?

i always listen to my podcasts on spotify

So have you ever actually finished a book and sent it to an editor or an agent for querying yet?
I have not yet sent a book to an agent for querying
I prefer watching my podcast on RUclips. I tend to zone out if I listen to it on Spotify
Good to know! Thanks!
Same here.
i prefer listening if they're podcasts :)
Sounds great!
Where i watch/listen podcasts: youtube
Good to know!
I listen on RUclips and apple podcast.
Sounds great! Thanks!
How often do you set and reflect on your goals?
Whenever I feel like I need a reset is when I set goals. I try to reflect on my goals and my progress a little bit every day by keeping tack of my little wins and progress but in larger portions every couple weeks or at least every month
Prefer RUclips podcasts.
It's cool if there is video but it doesn't have to have it.
But those podcast services usually upload to everything.
Good to know!
I watch podcasts on YT more than i listen to them on podcasts app
Good to know!!
