Jet2 Boeing 737-36Q Jersey to Leeds Bradford | Full Flight

  • After what was a great day in Jersey, it was time to head home to the mainland. There are a few options for this, direct flights back to Manchester with easyJet, connections through London with BA and some regional hops with Blue Islands. However in my mind, the only option even worth considering is Jet2's afternoon service back up to Leeds Bradford, main reason for this being the fact that it is virtually exclusively operated by their Boeing 737-300 fleet. Having flown the -300 five times previously with the most recent trip on G-GDFM being 9 years ago back in 2015, this was a no brainer.
We arrived at the airport around 2 hours prior to departure with the overall departure experience being very pleasant. Jersey Airport is very passenger friendly with plenty of space and facilities to accommodate a relatively small amount of people, my personal highlight being the viewing gallery where we spent some time awaiting our inbound aircraft G-GDFT, which had picked up a small delay departing LBA as a result of a medical emergency. Once the aircraft had arrived we promptly boarded via some ramp style airstairs and settled into the cabin of the 26 year old aircraft. We were ready to go around 15 minutes behind schedule and taxiied out for a spectacular Runway 08 takeoff over the island before turning North. Once at cruise I was served my pre-order Pepperoni Pizza Twist, a surprisingly tasty and flavourful snack which kept me occupied until we began our descent. We made a textbook approach and landing on Runway 32 and parked just over 5 minutes late which thanks to a well managed deboarding and arrival process, didn't have any negative impact on our onward travel plans.
So, as always a stellar flight with Jet2, ignoring the aircraft being a -300, the whole flight itself was excellent with a clean comfortable cabin that was in great condition, a fantastic crew who went above and beyond to look after all passengers, paying special attention to those passengers requiring special assistance. The onboard snack was really tasty and served promptly after departure. Going back to the aircraft itself, the ability to fly a scheduled passenger flight on a classic 737 domestically in the UK in 2024 for under £50 made this a must do, a flight I'll most likely do again at some point in the future!

Hi everyone, you will probably notice a small bit of editing pretty much right after we touched down on Runway 32. Unfortunately I wasn't holding my phone in the best position and the landing rollout on Leeds' notoriously bumpy runway actually made me inadvertently push the button to stop recording for a second or so. I've done my best to blend the footage as best as I can. Thanks for watching!

Very nice, my home Island. I was there in July. Jet2 very much appreciated locally for bringing visitors to Jersey in the summer months.

Nice report on the old 737-300, Jet2 have a fair few old aircraft in there fleet, no wonder they seem to have lots of tech issues this summer. One of my main reasons for package holiday I tend to use TUI as there fleet is a lot younger and I don't have to listen to Jess Glyn for the whole flight duration.😊

Officially the loudest and most annoying noise in the entire universe is a child yelling its lungs out on a flight..... Great footage though.

Once was deadheading to Manchester from Corfu, along side my first officer I'd flown out with, we knew the guys flying us back, so my "friend / copilot" went and had a quiet word with the cabin crew, who we also knew, and he took the jumpseat and left me to listen to a baby cry none stop for about 2 hours. Talk about loyalties!

not saying this in a rude way but what's wrong with the camera quality? the vid is only 1080p and the sharpness seems to be really high on my screen, your old vids used to be fine, nice flight though

I filmed this on my phone with inbuilt stabilisation. The mode may have compressed the footage. I'll do some investigation into the modes on the camera quality
