😀Yeah, my Brother Nard is a literal genius...just old enough to legitimately bridge the gap between the Be Bop and Contemporary Jazz greats!! My cousin Antoine (a.k.a. Skee-Lo) got the magic of Pop appeal for “I Wish” from the bridge of this masterpiece!!!
This is excellent, but from the audience of can't-do-but-can-critique I note one element that is on the original but very much missing from this cover - the staccato articulation in the 2:43 starting section. The distinctly different note durations on the original add another dimension to the really fun sliding bass line.
