You missed the Alabaster’s Sword. Even if you don’t meet the Intelligence requirements, that weapon is goated for RL1, especially when it comes to the heavy attacks. You don’t consume a lot of stamina with the heavies and also the damage is amazing. Especially great against Mohg.

I just beat Gideon on my RL1 run, I used all of these except the zamor curved sword. The funniest weapon you can use on RL1 is full spec into dex and using bolt of gransax. Radagon’s sorseal, dex talisman, prosthesis, rune arc, and dex tear outs you at exactly 40 dex. Such a fun cheese strat
I actually started a SL1 run just last night and decided to use the Iron Ball/Star Fist (Cold). I've always wanted to do a fist weapon playthrough, but the range really bothered me. In the context of SL1, there just isn't really competition though. Also, I'm already pas the Fire Giant. Hardest part of the run so far was Boggart.
@@dualwieldroxas358 most of the things that one shot you at RL1 are elemental attacks (*cough cough* Gideon) or have at least partial elemental damage. The only exceptions would be Godfrey and Radahn, but you're better off fighting Rennala than Radahn anyway. Going from Prawn to Crab gets you 6.25% more effective HP (0.85/0.8=1.0625). There probably *are* some physical hits that would become survivable because of that difference, but the list is so small that it wouldn't be worth waiting.
zwei, claymore and dragon halberd are also good ones. they’re more “balanced” so it’ll be a harder run overall. but they’re acquired early and easily, have low stat requirements and have good movesets for the run imo
consumables are worth considering too, especially with jar helm and companion jar talisman. noteworthy ones are probably gonna be fan daggers, volcano pot, sleep or frost pot and oil pot

Finished off the last boss of the DLC today, now it's time to tackle the dlc with my lvl1 character! I was using bloodhound fang for a good while, and switched to the fist weapons for elden beast which got me the win after many tries. Are there any new goodies to acquire in the DLC that might help a lvl 1 run?

Also, there are also bastard sword, lordsworn greatsword and claymore that are REALLY easy to aquire and are really good in early game and also in end game (in my playthrough I did beat malenia and godfrey with B. Sword)
I ran the uchi and it worked pretty great. I main kibas in PvP so I figured it would be the most comfortable thing to run. FUCK having to beat horseback buttfucker to get the ritual shield tho 😭

I was honestly expecting bloody helice to be somewhere on the list, but seeing as you didn't even put nagakiba for its high reqs, even if helice was good it probably wouldn't make it on the list.
I remember toying with the idea of trying to use the Watchdog Staff. The ash of war is pretty strong and only scales with weapon level, so you don't need stats to still do well with it. Bitch of it is that it takes 34 str, which I think means 23 str two-handed. You can get there with the tear but only being able to use your weapon for such a short time is not really viable, at least for me. Too bad too, if not for the crazy str requirement it would've been amazing.
I dual wielded the antspur and a cold rapier for my run. Damage went pretty hard on them. (This was before they nerfed Status effect build up when dual wielding.)
I’m doing one right now. Just got to the final boss. I’d highly recommend the glintstone Kris. Especially if you are using a spirit Ashe but try it either way. Uncharged does more dps.
Marika’s soreseal (can be swapped for in heirloom); magic scorpion charm; shard of alexander; red feathered branch sword talisman. Golden vow dagger; spellblade set; Lazuli Glintstone Crown; Roger’s rapier with sepiku (if you do not meet the minimum specs, it will not take any FP) Magic cracked tear; cerulean hidden tear (can swap for int knot tear if you aren’t using a summon)
I’ve been hoping for a video on this! Could you do one specifically for RL1 Malenia? I’ve put probably 30 hours of attempts into beating her melee only/no spirits/no summons and have only gotten her to maybe 30% hp on phase two for my closest attempt.
Scavenger's curved sword (cold) (Bloodhound step). Jump attack into her, run away. Light attacks when you have the chance. Bloodhound's to dodge any tricky attacks like waterfowl or clones. Light load. Light attacks from curved swords stagger her on every hit, jump attacks have fast recovery and deal good poise, especially when two handed. Status deals most of the damage, and staggers do respectable as well. Good luck
@@aayushdasgupta9754 It’s pretty much everything in phase 2. I’m relatively consistent with handling everything in phase 1 (frost pots for waterfowl is a lifesaver). Then phase 2 everything falls apart. I can’t react quickly enough to frost pot waterfowl, or she catches me with a normal attack, or I get caught by the last one or two parts of the clone attack. During a normal run fighting her ~RL 130 I’ve found phase 2 easier than phase 1 but the fact that 95% of her attacks are instant death in RL1 makes the much faster pace of phase 2 very difficult for me
@@gmiscoolyo I see. I prefer the faster pace in Ph2 xD. All I can say is bait out the slams with the rot eruption, get behind her and punish those for an easier time.
For anyone looking to help here’s my loadout: Armor: only the Okina mask (+3 dex for nagikiba requirement, while still light rolling) Weapons: flame art nagikiba w/spinning slash Dagger (only for golden vow) Seal (only to cast flame grant me strength) Talismans: Radagon’s soreseal (need the dex and strength for the nagikiba) Milliscent’s prosthesis (mostly for the dex but the multi hit buffs work really well with spinning slash) Red feather branch (almost everything is a one shot anyways) Warrior jar shard Wondrous physick: Faith tear (to boost fire damage and cast flame grant me strength) Fire tear (to boost fire damage) I’ve tried a bunch of other weapons/loadouts but this has been my most successful by far.
Of course you can use whatever weapons you like be it op or not but if you’re going for a RL1 run and use cheesy status builds or ultra high damaging balls then you’re not really getting a challenge because sure you die in a couple of hits but all you have to do is dodge a few times get a long opening and cut the bosses hp in half in like 2 seconds. In my opinion not using status or crazy charged attack builds or op Ashes of War and going ultra instinct against a boss for 3/4 minutes with a decent weapon is the most fun way. For me at least I did it with a Claymore which is really good and I really should have used something more mid but it’s okay
People can still get a challenge WITH status effects. You still have to master boss moves to avoid getting destroyed by painful oneshots. You talk in absolutes here, as if no one could get a challenge whilst using status effects. I'm sure you don't have malicious intent, but you fell under the black and white fallacy with that bit.

Star fists/balls heavy attacks trivialize the game. At rl1 cragblade star fists scripts radagon, can script elden beast with stone barb, script horah loux with red feather, script Gideon, script malekith, and can kill godskin duo in 2 cycles. Alabasters is damn good but star fists are hilariously broken even at rl1
Lightning damage and elden stars are the enemy of level one runs

It's heavy cheese because you can't get Bolt of Gransax until Leyndell on a legit Lv 1 character

The Great Stars will be the great hammers representative, I'm 100% sure

Level 1 run tip, get the damn sacred whet blade before you beat Maliketh. I had 0 lightning or holy damage options for the whole dlc because of this.

Iron balls and star fists are obviously the best, i could beat every boss with my eyes closed sitting on a spinning sawblade a la hollow knight

The R2s are absolutely not better, it certainly should be on the list though.
