So, good news, Fighter has a core skill named Enchanted Counter, and it's description says the following: "When using Defend while enchanted, automatically counters with an elemental attack corresponding to the enchantment". I'm not really sure if it's only related to blocking, or if the deflects will also work as reflects used to with MK. Either way, I think we're gonna be able to make our own MK as a Warfarer, to some extent.
That would be cool. So far in the footage that I've seen with a Fighter's shield enchanted I have not seen a reposte style, like ingle or levin. It seems obvious to me to include it as such though
Yeah, it definitely allows players to be more creative with their fighting style, as well as let the emulate playstyles of vocations that didn't make it into the sequal. Still gonna call it "Wayfarer" though
Exactly. Spearhand, magick archer, and Trickster aren't literal hybrids like the dogma 1 hybrids were Wayfarer is a literal hybrid class. So many people don't get this, complaining about no fighter/thief hybrids for example

I mean who wants to play a ranged toon that has to turn and run because some simple goblins are in their face without even a single dagger to slash em up quick.
The Mystic Spearhand should be the Green-Blue hybrid vocation instead of the Red-Blue hybrid. From the pre-release gameplay videos, the speed of the Mystic Spearhand skills should have come from the Thief side of the vocation. Moreover, the Mystic Spearhand's weapon, duospear, would pass as a staff that has two daggers attached to each of its ends.
Since we're getting only 10 vocations, either those colours were chosen at random or to troll the fans. Either way, it seems they dropped the whole system all together. I don't think they even said hybrid vocations at least once

People are about to discover the DragDog OG, been seeing your name pop up a lot in the comments lately ;) Even if you don't go to the crazy lengths you did covering DD1's mechanics right off the bat, I bet two coming out brings a fresh wave of players to the first game and to your great information.
I remember back in the first game, just enchanting the shield on mystic knight wasn't enough to get the spell counters. By default they just did a little bit of elemental damage when you blocked. You had to buy a core skill which upgraded the skill to actually shoot spells on a perfect block. Which was weird because that was the only skill that functioned like that in the whole game. I am huffing the copium super hard that it works the same way in DD2 and we just haven't seen that upgrade yet, because yeah otherwise it is a huge missed opportunity to not bring back the most fun part of mystic knight.
There is a magic parry skill within the fighters kit, also near every (good) skill from DDDA is in DD2 is some fashion. You can recreate the nearly the entire kit for the Assassin, Mystic Knight, Magic Archer, Strider, and Ranger with the Warfarer.
You're the one who got me into Dragon's Dogma after years before that I tried and stopped after about 15 hours. Your Magick Archer videos got me into the game, then I spent more than 100 hour on it and waited religiously for the second!
@@superunknown2728it’s not the same if you have to press a button to switch vocations just to use daggers. Magic archer was my jam. Using fire bolt arrows on a drake & then dashing in with my daggers to blow it up… happier times!
There are a multitude of different weapons, each class could have its own melee weapon, maybe instead of 2 daggers Archer could have 1 short sword with his own move set. It would be great right?@@Seichensi
I was a little disappointment Capcom invited other content creators that never played Dragon's Dogma to play early and create special pawns. Yet you have a dedicated channel for Dragons Dogma did they even reach out to you?
I feel the same way when it comes down to saves. Sadly, my save is on the Switch, meaning I could only have one, so I basically had to do a balanced build and collect every single piece of gear through multiple playthroughs in order to run any build I wanted. Thanks to all your videos.

I hope the lack of hair color and style choices is because we can buy more in the game like the dyes in 1. Also, unfortunately for you it seems like they ARE gonna have more armors of comparable stats to ad choices, just less slots to compensate for that. RIP the little goblin characters that could go in the little goblin holes.

Hey Nihil! the fighter actually does have a core skill that gives your elementally enchanted shield a riposte! We haven't seen the actual animation yet but it is heavily implied to be similar to mystic knight. ruclips.net/video/DGV7ku8W0DI/видео.html At 0:45 I think its possible that Oroboro didn't let the skill video fully play out and so potentially if you have this core skill and you perfect block while elementally enchanted you could get something similar to the magickal riposte in DD1. Only time will tell for sure.
I'm torn between the new system as well, I got 4 steam accounts, one main and 3 just to create more dragons dogma characters, one yellow, one blue, one for red and one for mystic knight, it cost me a lot of time but it was also a lot of fun to play them, guess there wont be a reason to do the same with DD2, maybe I'm gonna create another, one male, one female character, and thats it.
Even with the visual spectacle that Talos has, I can't help but feel like you're going to be right about his battle actually being a bit boring. But when you called it a "twenty minute long unskippable cutscene", a part of me actually started to hope that you'll end up being correct, but that instead of being essentially another Great Dragon fight, this battle with a six-story tall, Ancient Greek automaton is actually them picking the funniest possible way to "upgrade" the ox cart mission.

If there's no advanced vocation for yellow or green... that's gonna be weird. I'm definitely a bit disappointed with all the same stuff you brought up. Feels like a multitude of things they dropped were pretty crucial for the identity of the first. We shall see how it all comes together. It still won't fill the crusader/paladin niche, though. That's why I liked Mystic Knight.
Why not? You can wear full plate heavy armor, use a mace, a shield, combine holy spells with buffs, etc.@@theobell2002

It was cool, but in a long run - too broken. Devs knew this long ago; and already removed multi-type weapons usage from vocations in DDON.

I'm torn between the new system as well, I got 4 steam accounts, one main and 3 just to create more dragons dogma characters, one yellow, one blue, one for red and one for mystic knight, it cost me a lot of time but it was also a lot of fun to play them, guess there wont be a reason to do the same with DD2, maybe I'm gonna create another, one male, one female character, and thats it.

Even with the visual spectacle that Talos has, I can't help but feel like you're going to be right about his battle actually being a bit boring.
But when you called it a "twenty minute long unskippable cutscene", a part of me actually started to hope that you'll end up being correct, but that instead of being essentially another Great Dragon fight, this battle with a six-story tall, Ancient Greek automaton is actually them picking the funniest possible way to "upgrade" the ox cart mission.

Hey a tip you may be able to make it look bald with tattoos by placing it on your head matching your skin color and turning down opacity.
If there's no advanced vocation for yellow or green... that's gonna be weird. I'm definitely a bit disappointed with all the same stuff you brought up.
Feels like a multitude of things they dropped were pretty crucial for the identity of the first. We shall see how it all comes together.
If you put out videos for dogma 2, 10 years from now, I'll be there. I won't be watching anything on it at all for like 6months or more anyway haha.
