The combination of the media and drone companies over hyping the capabilities of drones with the ease of operating a consumer drone often leads inexperienced clients to underestimate the cost and complexity of jobs. It is always good to know the details and costs of conventional (non drone) workflows to be able to articulate the real savings. Many aspects of a job are similar or exactly the same as a conventional workflow and will cost about the same. If a client freaks out on a quote that is a huge savings over conventional costs, the red flags should go up and it may be time to walk away. Sometimes however they just ask for the wrong service when what they need is much simpler and cheaper.

Thanks! Great advice on closing a sale. Data interoperability is key in providing what your client needs. Oil and gas have strict rules and regulations for flying in/near their facilities. If your not already flying for them, its going to be really hard to get in. Most O&G have started there own sUAS departments.
