You have a wonderful imagination but it's not a Castle it is a Hydro Electric Power Supply Plant. What a wonderful job (view) to have in the Summer. I'm not sure if that access road is open in the Winter.
Love this footage! The old mine opening is part of the idarado mine outside of Ouray. The miners would enter the mine above Ouray and head to their assigned work area. Miners would come out this opening and each lunch enjoying the view above telluride. My father worked for idarado back in the early 1970s and was one of those miners that would sit there on a rock and eat his lunch then go back in and finish his shift. Oh the stories he shared of miners and their shenanigans. We even have pictures of the power house back when it was abandoned and boarded up, before they opened it back up. We love our Colorado
how far can you drive up the road to the top of the water fall and power house...i did the via ferratta and been a little up the road but i always thought u had to park and hike to the top...also, once u get to the top can u go around or through the building to keep hiking up stream
You can drive to the very top of the waterfall, but at that point, Black Bear Pass is one way (do not enter). You can usually find parking, and there’s a beautiful hike (Bridal Veil Basin Trail) that begins right behind the Power House.
From what I can determine... The Idarado Mine was a mining operation in the San Juan Mountains of Ouray County, Colorado, producing primarily lead, silver and zinc along with lesser amounts of gold and copper. The mine is within the Sneffels-Red Mountain-Telluride mining district.
I love nature and this was epic! The House (aka castle) & all the scenery around!

Thanks for watching! Amazing story of your father working in the mines.... I worked in the COAL mines in Alabama 1979 to 1986.

Is this house open for tours? Great video of the views!
Its been shown in Better Homes and Gardens or something. The owners decorated the insides.

How much did they pay the roofers of that building? :O
Ha good thinking - never thought about it.
So cool. This is why drones should be accepted more than they are instead of being a pariah that people get freaked out over.
Thank You
oh i thought the house fell lol oops

Is Abandon the name of the mine? Or is it an "abandoned" mine site? Asking for a friend.

This is a shaft from the idarado mine.
Horizon Zero Dawn brought me here!
Ruining beautiful scenery with a house next to waterfalls
Shameful
That's not even close to the original. I was there in 1972 and spit out the window of the kitchen.
Why the road is closed behind you? is a private road?
Gated by forest service - no tourist area.
@@SkyDroneAdventures Thanks for the answer!!!
No 4K no watch
Yes I regret now not shooting in 4k - newbie error.
