This particular documentary is disgraceful, shame on them, they aren't archeologists just grave robbers. Each and every one of them should be barred from ever going near any archeological sites. Disgraceful and shocking.

I would be more interested in these shows if you left out the mood music and creepy atmosphere sounds. It's very off putting for a historical and documentary film. If it were a fiction, fantasy or even about myths and legends it would be perfectly appropriate. I don't see how it in any way furthers the educational or informative aspects of a documentary.

One year I was on a trail hike with some trail guides in this beautiful sort of swampy wooded area in the south and they took us to a few graveyards from the 1800s. When I walked up to the graveyard I stopped on the edge and watched everyone else proceed to just walk around stepping all over everybody's graves having absolutely no respect for where they were traipsing and I was in disbelief. I love reading the headstones but I made absolutely certain I was in between graves if at all possible. And if not possible, I did not go.
I love Egyptian documentaries love seeing the archaeologists uncover the history but this one makes me sick. To me they aren't archaeologists just over privileged treasure hunters and gold diggers
the first thing he does when they find the chamber is jus walk across the entire chamber destroying everything in it, like how can these be the people given the right to explore this. he even mentioned he was destroying stuff probably and jus kept doing it anyway and then u see the skeleton spread all over the place, ridiculous.

totally agree. Timeline documentaries are usually very good but this is just reaching for something to put on. These add on relatives discovered nothing just hung around. My childhood dream was to be an archeologist, but this was one of the worst "documentaries" I have ever seen (and I've seen hundreds). They way they handle the mummies and artifacts made me sick. Archaeology is about understanding history, not finding gold.

You make a valid point . . .but England controlled Egypt before WWII - so rich nobles with connections paid for digs in different tombs and had the rich contents sent back for study and display in British museums. The government and the rich could do whatever they wanted.

I literally got shivers from seeing two white men with their expensive impractical clothes among the workers, walking like they owned the place and thinking they would take a gold coffin back to their little castle - as if it was their right. The Pharaohs tombs are great findings but they are also invasions. It's like a stranger digging up your corpse.
I have been in Tutankhamuns tomb many times and it is so wonderful just to see him in his Sarcophagus . I love the Valley of the Kings and my favourite tomb is Merneptah . I would recommend a visit as it is a really magical and mysterious place.

(And when Hawass was insisting that all Egyptian artifacts be returned from around the world, I thought that was rather rude considering that the artifacts would have never been seen by most of us who couldn't, or wouldn't, travel to Egypt.)

I think the reason Tutankhamun cursed Carnarvon is because he not only funded the excavation but also because maybe he's a Lord/Earl and by default was in a high position of power, like a Pharaoh. Therefore he was far more disgraceful than Howard Carter was in the eyes of the Boy King, and thus became the target of the curse.
I find it interesting though that many people from the excavation died but Howard Carter was not one of them

In response to the comments about grave-robbing... almost all the tombs in The Valley of The Kings, including this one, were robbed by Ancient Egyptian priests of a later dynasty. The tombs are already trashed when archaeologists like this come and pick up the bits.
I got to see king tut at the Franklin Institute in 2007 i was about 8 or 9 years old. To this day I remember the feeling of, to stay far away from that box (his sarcophagus). I got closer and it gave u a feeling of strong uneasiness. As if something was very wrong or off. I looked at it once and wouldn't go back over to it when offered.
