I am glad I found this channeI. I have a 2002 ford ranger edge. It is a 2wd, 6 cylinder, 3.0L engine. I changed the oil 2 or 3 days ago and the oil gauge needle started flipping out. Now the gauge needle is out of position, and on the back side. I know there is a way to move it back into position with a magnet. Even before this job came up I could not see the fuel gauge because the dash is dark on that side. I am retired and my ranger comes in handy. I need to replace the serpentine belt also, but that is a story for another day.
I have a 2004 Ranger XL, me and my boys are fixing it up for when they start driving. Good solid truck but last owner did some sketchy repairs and nonsense things we are fixing (spray painted headliner and visors, coil from a Focus rigged up to the ignition and duct taped to the intake just to name a couple lol)
I never knew ford switched to an all-electronic climate control. My mustang has the cable version. Same dash vents too. I love what you did on the gauge cluster 👍👍
Nice job, on this and on the instrument panel as well. By the way, all LED's are polarity sensitive. They only let current flow in one direction, so they can only work when inserted one way. Truck looks good :)
Just a suggestion i have a 2004 ranger with the 7.5 rear axle, shes also a little lifted. I went and installed a nitro lunchbox locker for the rear. And let me tell ya its been amazing as far as better performance, handling and traction. Cannot recomend enough and it was easy to do. I also had it for a year with 0 issues just follow the break in period and you are good.
for the stereo there are cheap dash kits you can buy that make it easy to install and fill in the edges with matching black plastic that looks good. I've got a double din pioneer one i love
Bro its @Project_ranger3.0! Where the heck did you find those, I've LOOKED Everywhere man! Me and my friends have been trying to do a full cluster and gauge swap to LED for a while lol! That awesome man
Thanks for the videos...I just bought my 1st 2002 Ranger Edge and it’s also my 1st truck ever. I been watching your videos to get ideas on how to improve the overall look of exterior and interior and by the looks of your videos there’s a lot of work for me to do. Noticed you said you live by base (Oside) I also live by base.
OhYeahAboutThat SuperCab but in it’s current state it’s more like need a lot of TLCab originally I came across your video about replacing the gage cluster bulbs..only one single light is currently working but I’m hoping to get it done this coming weekend. I figured it would be a good project for my 13 year old and I. We stay off of Oceanside Blvd
Interesting looks good, if anyone is thinking about getting a boss double din headunit I believe the number is bv90something it’s only $100 it’s a decent headunit. No bass controls tho so you’re gunna need a subwoofer a lot of power compared to factory headunit
Great Job you did with this Ranger Edge....I saw your videos and I have a question what size of tires you have when you start lift ans replace those tires .....I have a Ranger but I like the way looks before start lifted Looks amazing how you finish but to me its high because Im old
Been loving your vids. Watching from beginning. Just picked up a 1 owner 2001 edge 4X4 192k on truck 50k on new motor. Straight for 1,500. Want to redo interior and suspension. Question on those lights. Are the LED green or is it the film on the dash cluster. I have a chrysler 300 with seafood greenish dash and love it. Want to see if I can get same effect with the ranger when I redo interior. I find it very relaxing and less eye strain in dark
Thank you! They are green LEDs. Also check out this more recent video of my 07 Ranger. The gauges are different but same green effect. ruclips.net/video/u_7-PHKsRR4/видео.html
Will do, and thanks for the response. Kinda sad as only 1 vid left on your ranger build. Stay safe bro, and keep up the good work. Oh hey any recommendations on how to about acquiring after market interior parts like new seats, head liner, after Market gages and middle arm rest. Previous owner was a smoker and didn't keep it clean. Rest of Truck is sound
@@Z1ldjian2785 but I have another Ranger build with it’s own playlist! Make sure to follow that one. Check for used parts on FB Marketplace or OfferUp.
Awesome video bro. I have an 02 Edge, I recently upgraded my cluster but lbs to red L.E.D’s and it looks great. My question is, can I go with red in my climate control panel? They looked like they shined green in yours. LOVE the video series man, (sorry new sub and idk your name) I’ve gotten a TON of good ideas for mine, thanks. 😁 (John from California)
Thanks for the comment! I think there is a green filter in the climate control panel, so you may be stuck with green. Glad you like! Mike from California. Also don’t forget to check out the entire playlist for lots of other videos!
why question is so if u get a junkyard working speedo from a sport trac and install into a 01 ranger how do you match the miles so the odo is accurate? also is there a way to fix the tripometer on the factory speedo cluster? i only ask because some bulbs are blown so i have to pull the cluster out anyways to change the bulbs but if possible i would love to fix my trip so i can record trip lengths and also see how many miles i can get with a full tank of gas... thanks for any help you can provide basically just wondering if its possible to fix the trip portion of the odometer and/or if u grab a different cluster how would one go about matching up the miles on the cluster itself? is that even possible? thanks again brotherman, -pete
I’m sure you can but I’m not sure how easy that might be. I would just transfer everything you can from the new to the old, while keeping the old odometer.
Still working great. Personally I just look at ratings on eBay and go from there. These are what I have rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F291327701183

Thanks. Yeah, I think 2001 was the year they switched.
The blend doors and vent doors are all still vacuum operated.

Nice! Is yours a single cab or supercab? There’s a lot you can do. I’m in Fallbrook on the back side of Pendleton.

You can do it no problem.
Thanks for the size of the LED.
Oh yeah! Right on my lunch break
I mentioned this in the dash video, the 04 edge has those 74 bulb in the dash and climate switch.

Try the Mustang Dome lamp swap. They have white overlays for the climate control on ebay for $12
Thanks for letting me know!
This helped and i counted 25 lol
Would've been nice to show which way you turn the bulb housing to remove them from the control panel

If memory serves, it’s the version with the reading lights from an f150 supercab.

why not disconnect the stereo?
What happened to the pictures?
You must be blind. Three pictures. Watch 100 more times and like 100 more times. 😀
We’re going to have a long talk tomorrow.
Dale Degler don’t you threaten me with conversation!
Any one know what size bulb I need for a 2006 Ford ranger ?
hey does the size 74 apply to the 2000 ford ranger model??
M.A.C Gaming I think yours is the older style that takes the same normal size as the dash. I can’t remember the cutoff year.
Power Acoustic is garbage. i sell car audio, and that brand is exactly what you said. looks pretty, but its shit.
what color is it for the radio bezel?
Shadowwalker305 I don’t remember painting that. If I did it’s also canyon black. Works perfectly for plastic.
